Divine Beast Creator
Chapter 2745: Chapter 2746: Tidying Up
On the last day of the Ascension challenge, Feng Yuan and the others didn’t continue to stay in Cha Mu Town because today the United Army officially announced they had taken control of the East Continent United Continent, territory once occupied by the East Continent Great Xia Alliance Empire, now officially in the hands of the United Army.
Due to the special structure of the United Army, the East Continent United Continent does not directly belong to any one nation, but is governed jointly by the small alliance formed by the nations making up the United Army.
As for its internal resources, they are apportioned through negotiations among the countries within the United Army, and of course, those who contributed more in this operation will naturally receive more resources.
These matters didn’t interest Feng Yuan much, so he didn’t pay attention. Over in Cha Mu Town and everywhere, alerts were lifted, and as civilians began returning home, new chaos ensued, compounded by the fact this was the last day of the Ascension challenge, leaving those Beastmasters who hadn’t obtained the Ascension Stone feeling agitated and uneasy.
Under such circumstances, it’s inevitable that irrational incidents would occur, posing numerous troubles for the local Special Duty Teams, and even with the City Defence Army joining in, order within the city didn’t improve.
Only areas like Cha Mu Town managed to maintain some semblance of order due to traditional cultural restraint, but even so, the Ascension challenge sites remained quite chaotic.
Upon returning to Maomu City, Feng Yuan didn’t head for the dormitory but went home with Qi Chen and the others instead. With two moves, household items were inevitably scattered, even Feng Yuan’s belongings were strewn everywhere.
This wasn’t because Feng Yuan was planning to move earlier; rather, those mementos, under those circumstances, Feng Yuan chose to carry them with him. Otherwise, if those Imperial People destroy this place out of boredom, those items would be lost, wouldn’t they?
Even if restoration is possible using time methods, in Feng Yuan’s view, what is restored isn’t the original thing itself.
So Feng Yuan had taken those travel souvenirs earlier without much thought, leading to some disorder in the room now. Looking at those items, Feng Yuan rubbed his forehead in frustration and said,
"Why didn’t I think of organizing when I picked them up earlier?"
"Hmm, one might need to ask someone here about that."
Glancing at Feng Yuan, Veronia said with a strange expression. Luckily those items were packaged by Feng Yuan himself back then; otherwise, he might have blamed them on someone now.
"Hehe, really, I was just focused on convenience at that time and didn’t think of aftermath, but...Big Cat, don’t you want to participate in the Ascension challenge? I have a way to bypass the Beast Tamer restrictions for you."
Smiling brightly, Feng Yuan said while tidying up, but even Little Ice Cream showed a disinterested look.
"I can understand Kong Qing’s lack of interest, but Big Cat, what’s the matter with you? That’s saving fifty years of growth time you know."
Glancing at Kong Qing helping him pick things up, Feng Yuan chuckled and said, Kong Qing needed to find a strong evolutionary route for the Little Green Snake lineage.
Because of this, it couldn’t use the Ascension Stone; otherwise, the skipped stages couldn’t be verified as feasible.
However, Big Cat didn’t have this problem, not to mention Big Cat was already in adulthood, unlike Xiao Ji who might miss out on something, which is also why Feng Yuan didn’t ask Little Ice Cream.
That guy’s too young; slower growth doesn’t seem to be much of an issue, and as for safety? Being around Feng Yuan poses no danger, and as for leaving?
Meteorite Spirit Beasts have their gathering place, and as far as Feng Yuan knows during this Imperial Timeline raid, the Meteorite Spirit Beast gathering area hasn’t been breached; for Imperial People to conquer an area directly protected by Divine Beasts is not an ordinary difficulty.
So Feng Yuan isn’t worried about Little Ice Cream’s situation. If it doesn’t want to grow rapidly, then there’s no need to do so.
Big Cat mewed and looked at Feng Yuan, as Veronia helped translate,
"Big Cat says it doesn’t need to; it seems not to want to fight."
"Hmm, suit yourself then."
Upon hearing this, Feng Yuan didn’t push it. It’s not unheard of for a Spirit Beast like Big Cat not to enjoy fighting, so Feng Yuan can understand. While power is important most of the time, nevertheless...
At least Big Cat doesn’t need to protect anyone currently; Qi Chen and the others pursue power because they need it to protect important people, but Big Cat...currently, those closest to it are either Feng Yuan or Xiao Ji, who comparatively need protection more often than Big Cat itself does.
Thus, Feng Yuan didn’t bother saying more; while power can be important, it certainly isn’t overly crucial, at least in the relatively peaceful Main World, where even lacking sufficient power won’t lead to trouble.
And as for later? Spirit Beasts do grow over time; indeed, accumulating naturally beyond the Legendary Level is improbable, but before reaching Legendary Level, there’s no need to worry about this.
"Hmm, you seem like a salesperson now, though the recommended items don’t lack followers."
Veronia couldn’t resist teasing as she glanced at Feng Yuan, who indeed acted a bit...
Rolling his eyes, Feng Yuan said irritably,
"I just don’t want Big Cat to miss the opportunity. Although there’s another chance once they conquer the Imperial Timeline, I can’t guarantee any changes by then."
"Do you think there will be issues with the Ascension Stones that follow?"
Surprised, Veronia looked at Feng Yuan, wondering if he received some news. Shaking his head slightly, Feng Yuan said,
"Not really, finding loopholes is something I’m pretty skilled at."
Chuckling, Feng Yuan said as knocking sounded at the door, without turning, he shouted,
"The door is unlocked!"
"You guys seem pretty leisurely."
Veronia gave Qi Chen, who was carrying something, a strange smile as she commented, the latter disregarded her words and handed a golden envelope to Feng Yuan, saying,
"This is from the higher-ups for you; I don’t know what it is, but it shouldn’t be anything bad."
"From the higher-ups? An invitation?"
Feng Yuan casually opened the envelope, revealing an official invitation inside; as for its content...
"Canyon expedition? It’s said to be a celebration activity. This is quite odd, isn’t it?"
"Hmm, otherwise? Host a banquet?"
Responding to Feng Yuan, Veronia glanced at him with a peculiar smile and said, stunned for a moment, Feng Yuan replied,
"Seems kind of boring, that kind."
"The celebration activity is a canyon expedition?"
Blinking in bewilderment, Qi Chen knew Maomu City would hold a victory celebration, but what’s with this canyon expedition? It seems somewhat mismatched?
"No idea, it’s written like that above, if interested, you can take the invitation to Data Square to exchange for a special VIP card, apparently to skip the queue, which seems a bit odd."
Flipping through the invitation, Feng Yuan commented somewhat speechlessly, not expecting to receive such an invitation at this time.
Qi Chen didn’t understand the situation, but considering this was something his father brought back to be handed to Feng Yuan, it shouldn’t be too far-fetched...
Looking at Feng Yuan, Qi Chen curiously asked,
"Then are you planning to go?"
"Hmm, it’s not impossible; although it feels a bit strange, within Maomu City, it shouldn’t be too troublesome."
Thinking for a moment, Feng Yuan nodded and said, while the timing felt off, since it’s utilizing the Data Domain, it shouldn’t be too bad?
Recalling the Maze of Mirror challenge from the previous year, Feng Yuan still appreciated their ability to host events.
"I’m not sure what the canyon expedition content would be; if it’s like the Maze of Mirror, it wouldn’t be bad."
Nearby, Xiao Ji, who was tidying its little nest, hurriedly turned around upon hearing this, flapped its wings and squawked, as Veronia gave Feng Yuan a look and said,
"It seems not very fond of that."
"Hmm, as for that...I figure it wouldn’t have scenarios as complex as the Maze of Mirror; at least, in a canyon environment, you wouldn’t fit mirrors."
Seeing Xiao Ji’s strong reaction, Feng Yuan said helplessly, however, Xiao Ji wasn’t buying it and squawked at Veronia as if saying something.
"It’s not impossible, you know; things like hallucinogenic mushrooms, mirage-type scenarios don’t have environment restrictions."
Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan’s defeated look, revealing this was indeed the content of Xiao Ji’s squawking, rolling his eyes, Feng Yuan responded irritably,
"They wouldn’t really reuse stuff from the Maze of Mirror, would they? With the Data Domain’s environment, there’s so much they could do; is it necessary."
