The aurora appeared in the sky without warning, Feng Yuan glanced up at the unexpected display and looked at Veronia with some surprise.
"Has the battle already started?"
"Mm-hmm, it has indeed, but it’s still under their control for now."
Veronia gazed at the sky and remarked. Although the aurora was special, she knew whose handiwork it was, Najia and Gitalien.
That’s right, this aurora covering numerous continents wasn’t something that any single Divine Beast could wield; it’s formed by the interplay of specific rules, and the effect is straightforward and brutal, violently intervening to limit all ultimate moves involving space, causing all such moves to be distorted to land amidst the starry sky.
"Quite beautiful."
After watching for a while, Feng Yuan chuckled and stopped paying attention to the changes in the sky. The Bilu Mushrooms, on the other hand, were startled by the sudden appearance of the aurora. Originally frolicking in the fields, they all ran toward a single spot, and as Feng Yuan followed, a barking warning tried to stop him from approaching the Bilu Mushrooms.
"Mountain Patrol Hound?"
Seeing the snarling Spirit Beast, Feng Yuan was taken aback and murmured with some surprise. Like the Bilu Mushrooms, the Mountain Patrol Hounds are Wild Spirit Beasts. Why was Feng Yuan so sure? Because that’s just how they are, friendly to humans, yet lacking enough potential for combat growth, hence Beastmasters rarely choose them.
They also don’t sign Taming Beast Contracts with Beastmasters because they don’t want to be the ones holding everyone back. Of course, sometimes there are exceptions due to deep emotional ties, but Feng Yuan didn’t see any traces of humans nearby, so it seemed unlikely.
Mountain Patrol Hounds, like the Bilu Mushrooms, have no evolved forms, with their strength ranging from Good Level to Legendary Level. They can only break through Legendary-level constraints through means like Transcend Evolution without changing their form.
Unlike the Bilu Mushrooms whose ultimate moves are focused on farming, Mountain Patrol Hounds specialize more in combat, with a fondness for running through the mountains, and almost every Mountain Patrol Hound will protect the weak. They are one of the Order Maintainers of the forest, so it’s no wonder these Bilu Mushrooms went to them for help.
It can be said that without the Mountain Patrol Hounds, many of the weaker Life forms in the forest wouldn’t live so comfortably, and precisely because of this, even the more aggressive Wild Spirit Beasts would not easily stir up trouble with the Mountain Patrol Hounds, especially ones that have lived in one area for a long time.
Even if they’re stronger than the Mountain Patrol Hounds and could suppress them with force, doing so would likely provoke hostile collective action from local Wild Spirit Beasts, unless the benefits are sufficient, nobody would provoke such trouble.
Feng Yuan naturally wouldn’t cause trouble without reason by teasing the Mountain Patrol Hound, but fortunately, this Mountain Patrol Hound haunted an area near the human residence, so it only warned Feng Yuan not to approach without further action like driving him away, and after sniffing, it didn’t even mind Feng Yuan getting close.
"A Mountain Patrol Hound, Bilu Mushrooms, I wonder if there are any Yunana around, the three giants of the forest."
Seeing the Mountain Patrol Hound, Feng Yuan thought of something and showed a strange smile, Veronia glanced at Feng Yuan and said,
"There should be some, after all, Drudgeon is active here, so Yunana must be around this region, but who knows if they’re here."
Yunana also likes to dwell in the forest, their strength comparable to the Bilu Mushrooms, but unlike the Bilu Mushrooms, Yunana’s specialty lies in dance and flower cultivation.
It seems not to have much to do with humans, but in fact, Yunana loves to linger near human habitation areas where Divine Beasts frequent because they enjoy dancing and humans can spark many dance ideas for them.
The term "the three giants of the forest" isn’t just a random joke from Feng Yuan — it’s a nickname among humans due to the unique nature of the Mountain Patrol Hounds and Bilu Mushrooms, resulting in their strength not being that formidable, but provoking them could lead to trouble with their backing clans.
Bilu Mushrooms represent human forces, Mountain Patrol Hounds symbolize the Wild Spirit Beasts of the forest, while Yunana stands for the Divine Beasts.
Indeed, although Yunana isn’t descended from Divine Beasts nor closely related to them, they possess a unique ultimate move called the Dance of the Deity.
This move has no direct effect, produces no extra effects, only one singular effect — to connect with Divine Beasts through dance. Of course, this connection isn’t randomly generated but determined by the Divine Beasts praised in the past dances of Yunana’s clan.
This is why Veronia said what she did earlier. Due to its unique nature, although the Yunana clan isn’t affiliates of Divine Beasts, they often engage in activities similar to those of affiliates.
In return, if one provokes the Yunana clan, as long as they are justified, the Divine Beast behind them would act.
This is one reason for their inclusion among the three giants of the forest. Although there are more powerful Wild Spirit Beasts in the forest, not many have such cute and weak appearances yet can deliver a fierce counterattack to their enemies, or rather, they’re the most common in forest regions.
Thus, the title of the three giants of the forest falls upon them. Of course, mostly in jest, but among the jests lies a warning to novice Beastmasters not to provoke them without reason.
Don’t be fooled by their seemingly easily bullied appearance and show little restraint, otherwise, no one will stand up for them when they receive a lesson.
No choice, the backers behind the three giants of the forest aren’t ones to mess with, even if the weakest-looking Bilu Mushrooms were to cause a ruckus, even Feng Yuan wouldn’t fare well.
After a while, the fear brought by the aurora gradually dissipated. Although the aurora still shone overhead, the Bilu Mushrooms were no longer clustered and dispersed instead, although they didn’t stray far from the Mountain Patrol Hound.
"Uh, Veronia, could you help explain?"
Seeing them like this, Feng Yuan hesitated briefly and looked at Veronia, who snorted lightly but didn’t refuse. Divine Beasts, after all, differ from Ordinary Spirit Beasts. In such circumstances, Divine Beasts can more easily approach tense Wild Spirit Beasts, whereas Ordinary Spirit Beasts might get startled.
Although Tamur is also a Divine Beast, his eloquence is not as refined as Veronia’s, given he rarely interacted with the outside world and naturally couldn’t excel at comforting.
Even though Veronia isn’t very adept, she’s still better than Tamur.
Under Veronia’s soothing, the Bilu Mushrooms and Mountain Patrol Hound finally calmed down, as the aurora overhead was indeed daunting.
It’s not the appearance but the energy within. The reason Najia and Gitalien need to collaborate is due to the involvement of starry sky and space rules.
The energy enabling the interaction and fusion of these two rules is naturally not something a general Divine Beast Technique can compare to, even though it’s spread throughout the world, it’s enough to startle anyone.
Of course, regular Beastmasters among humans aren’t that sensitive, and they had been informed by various countries beforehand, so human Beastmasters initially did panic, but seeing no official movement, they realized and ceased fearing.
Regarding the Wild Spirit Beasts, nothing could be done — humans couldn’t notify them, nor could Divine Beasts transmit messages to every Wild Spirit Beast.
However, it’s only a temporary panic that won’t cause significant damage, so they left it be.
After all, the counterattack of the Imperial Timeline has arrived, and if space distortion isn’t carried out, even with Temple shelter, it would be very troublesome.
Under space distortion, the Imperial People can only timeline jump outside the Temple’s shelter area, and regarding strong-arm entry into the Temple shelter zone through space jump?
Space distortion doesn’t distinguish between friends or foes, precisely why it’s very effective, rain or shine, any space jumper will directly end up in the starry sky, where a group of Divine Beasts has already prepared for them.
Of course, this isn’t foolproof, as it only restricts space jumps, regular advances aren’t stymied by this move.
Which is precisely why cities dispatched all patrol teams to try and keep battlefields away from cities, and due to space jumps being totally limited, their army deployment capabilities are also put to the test.
Previously, they could rely on spatial methods to rapidly deploy forces, now they can’t do this, for their use of spatial techniques would result in them ending up in the starry sky.
"Counterattacks and counter-counterattacks have started."
Within the quiet network, occasional new information emerges, mostly sourced from official reports, but these reports are sufficient for Feng Yuan and Veronia to understand what’s transpired.
"Let’s hope this place won’t be attacked."
Feng Yuan glanced around with a strange expression and said.
