Whether Feng Yuan would adapt to war, he did not know. But it wasn’t long before he learned from the news what the War Timeline had done, or rather, that the War Timeline had finally intervened.
Even though this possibility had been anticipated from the beginning, the War Timeline’s declaration of war on the Main World still caused panic in many countries not part of the United Army.
After all, with the formation of the United Army, they were horrified to discover that, apart from the Divine Beasts sheltering their own countries, the neutral Divine Beasts who favored humans were mostly concentrated on the United Army’s side.
If people on the Imperial Timeline still harbored unrealistic fantasies, then no one on the War Timeline dared expect peaceful coexistence.
Even internally, they are embroiled in years of conflict, let alone dealing with the different timelines to which they have no real connections. Their actions prove it—the War Timeline did not just declare war on the Main World, but a part of it directly targeted the Imperial Timeline.
Of course, thanks to the efforts of Qichen Zhanzheng, the East Continent Great Xia did not participate in this war, but regardless of how much Qichen Zhanzheng tried, the East Continent Great Xia did not join the United Army.
As for this result, what can Qichen Zhanzheng say except that he tried his best? After all, he understands how difficult it is to determine who has the advantage. Even if the Imperial Timeline is pushed back to its homeland by the United Army, it is clear to the discerning eye that this relies on the mighty power of the Divine Beasts.
Faced with the Imperial Timeline’s Anti-Divine Beast Rune raiding homes, the humans of the Main World did not have a stellar performance.
This also prevents the East Continent Great Xia from betting on Great Xia, after all, once this decision is made, there’s no turning back. In this regard, Qichen Zhanzheng feels powerless, knowing that with Feng Yuan here, Great Xia is almost unlikely to be the losing side. However, he cannot explain this.
Talk is cheap; his actions in recent times have led some to question whether he has colluded with Great Xia, intending to harm the interests of the East Continent Great Xia. Were it not for his past achievements, he would likely have been stripped of all his positions. However, even so, his position as an envoy from Great Xia has inevitably been taken away.
"You’re acting too urgently. Even if you really want to do something, there’s no need for this. Hmph, look at you now, in such a pitiable state."
Bai You stood under the tree, leaning against it with her arms crossed and head lowered, speaking coldly without looking at Qichen Zhanzheng at the villa entrance.
Looking up at the sky shrouded in aurora barrier, Qichen Zhanzheng sighed and said,
"You should understand that I don’t believe you can’t see his true power."
"So what? Do you plead for mercy?"
"No, I only think that we, at least cannot stand in opposition to him."
"Ha~ Even if opposing him, so what? With your attitude, they definitely won’t let you return. Aren’t you worried your successor will mess things up?"
Coldly chuckling, Bai You raised her head to look coldly at Qichen Zhanzheng. Calmly meeting Bai You’s gaze, Qichen Zhanzheng spoke as if stating a fact,
"You wouldn’t allow them to do that."
"You really have confidence in me. Or are you saying, what makes you think I would do as you expect?"
"Because you are his daughter, and honestly, we have no choice. They haven’t unleashed their full power, Main World, timeline branches; they could never misunderstand the significance of these names, they just refuse to accept it."
Lightly humming, Bai You slowly walked towards Qichen Zhanzheng, attempting to use a finger to lift his chin, but was easily dodged by Qichen Zhanzheng.
"They only named themselves, who wouldn’t embellish their own image? You seem to have confidence in them."
"Perhaps because they represent the future I’ve dreamt of witnessing countless times...."
"Even if you’re reluctant to admit it, you still understand the disparity between our two worlds."
"The Mythical Era, Divine Beasts, and those terrors hidden beneath the mundane world have long proven that only they are the true protagonists... Regardless of envy, we lack the opportunity."
Speaking calmly, Qichen Zhanzheng showed no fear against Bai You’s seemingly voracious gaze, and turning angrily, Bai You spoke coldly,
"So you believe we should submit to them to qualify for survival?!"
"No, only through cooperation can the possibility of being treated as enemies be avoided. Opposing them brings us no benefits."
Feng Yuan didn’t know the changes within the East Continent Great Xia. To him, the East Continent Great Xia posed no threat; if they did nothing, fine, if they did come out, merely Veronia would be enough to trouble them.
"This war is really getting more chaotic."
Looking at the news about the war, Feng Yuan sighed and murmured, the outcome involving the War Timeline, though not all countries declared war on the Main World, still led to new chaos due to so many enemies.
Don’t forget, the War Timeline had already gained technical support from the Imperial Timeline. At least, they also possessed the ability to jump between timelines.
Facing this situation, Lorraine Tower and the White Wolf Deity unhesitatingly joined forces, using Temporal-Spatial Lock Chains to encircle and block the timeline where the Main World is located. Although it couldn’t completely stop timeline jumping, it could prevent the opponent from sneaking around.
Veronia remarked observing the Divine Beasts’ intelligence network information. In this situation, it was hard for it to say whether this was good or bad, since at present, both sides remained in a weird dynamic balance of power.
With more enemies joining the fray from the other side and more Divine Beasts emerging on this side, both sides’ power remains roughly equal, although in this situation, humans in the United Army naturally are unavoidably gradually reduced to cannon fodder-like roles.
There’s no way around it; when the Divine Beasts’ war begins, ordinary soldiers do not serve much purpose.
"The war’s intensity upgrades? The time left for Agunas is indeed dwindling."
Feng Yuan did not feel much about this; right now, those guys were just boasting about having a numerical advantage. The emergence of Divine Beasts only altered the strength of the war but didn’t significantly affect victories, while the Temple’s presence effectively prevented increased war intensity’s damages on the Main World’s wild Spirit Beasts and human forces.
However, given the current situation, the Temple’s appearance is bound to plunge the Main World into civil unrest, and Feng Yuan couldn’t say how it should be handled.
"True enough, but the current battle situation doesn’t look great; at least, the opponents still have enough Anti-Divine Beast Runes to use."
Analyzing the front-line battle report, Veronia said helplessly. Initially, it thought that attack had consumed many Anti-Divine Beast Runes, but now they appeared in large numbers again in the reports, proving the opponents still had considerable reserves.
"Naturally, I wouldn’t think a counterattack would exhaust their trump cards. Moreover, the true concern would likely be those Anti-Divine Beasts—though they just involve elemental rules, they’re not easy foes."
Regarding this, Feng Yuan wasn’t surprised at all; until now, the Imperial Timeline still held the advantage, and Feng Yuan didn’t believe they would rashly play their cards to depletion under these circumstances.
Of course, those Anti-Divine Beasts embodying elemental rules, Feng Yuan couldn’t tell what’s up there, but at least in the Data Domain’s base database, that thing’s presence was verified.
Feng Yuan didn’t know exactly what’s happening here—intelligence intentionally left by the world? Or some other reason? Whatever the case, there was always an odd feeling about it.
Veronia murmured lightly, not due to having intentions of aiding Agunas but simply seeing the Anti-Divine Beasts as worthy adversaries. Of course, it has to be the genuine ones; illusions, it has no desire to confront.
Be it win or loss, it’s meaningless—for victory is expected, and defeat is embarrassing, since there’s still a significant disparity between the illusions and the genuine beings.
Veronia was curious about the Anti-Divine Beast Feng Yuan regarded so highly, wondering what made it so significant.
"Hmm, probably it really needs your support, that thing really isn’t something humans can handle."
Scratching his head, Feng Yuan remarked; Anti-Divine Beast Runes are already challenging for humans, much more so the Anti-Divine Beast itself, which is entirely beyond their capacity to contend with.
