After waiting at the gate for a while, the tourists waiting outside followed the guidance of the security and walked inside. Seeing Feng Yuan and the others waiting by the side, the tourists didn’t pay much attention, as there were quite a few people already inside the hall strolling around. Feng Yuan gently patted Xiao Ji and said
"How about I carry you?"
Looking around at the small-sized spirit beasts being held by tourists, Xiao Ji transformed into the shape of an Eggshell Chicken and jumped into Feng Yuan’s arms. Holding Xiao Ji, Feng Yuan followed the tour group along with Long Boduo and the others.
Along the way, various meteors were meticulously examined by Long Boduo. Although those meteors were on display platforms designed to shield spirit beasts from most ultimate moves, this posed no problem for Long Boduo; to it, those platforms were no different from ordinary glass cabinets.
However, just as Feng Yuan had guessed, the ones currently on display were nothing but ordinary meteors, essentially mineral rocks. Discovering anything special was out of the question. Seeing Long Boduo’s disappointed look, Feng Yuan curiously asked,
"Not at all, I just find it interesting, discovering unexpected treasures among a pile of meteors, that feeling~"
Long Boduo said excitedly as he looked at Feng Yuan. Agunas flicked its tail and said,
"But last time, they checked all the meteors thoroughly, I reckon."
Thinking of something, Feng Yuan looked at Long Boduo in surprise and asked,
"Huh?! Didn’t they ask for your help at the time?"
Long Boduo scratched his head and said in confusion. He indeed hadn’t heard of anyone inviting him to examine the meteors. Agunas glanced at Feng Yuan and said irritably,
"At that time, Long Boduo was mostly staying in the Netherworld; how could anyone possibly invite him?"
"There’s nothing to be done then, but you could go ask Veronia and see what’s happening there. I remember they have meteors there, right?"
"Don’t know the exact time, though it should be today, but not sure when."
Agunas flicked its tail and said. As this matter had little to do with it, it didn’t know the specifics. Only Veronia and Arnis, responsible for protection, might know.
While Feng Yuan and the others were touring the Meteorite Museum, Najia looked up at the sky and said,
"It’s here."
"So soon? Then, should I wait for you at the hotel?"
Yang Hongzhi handed the food he was holding to Xiao Hei and asked Najia. However, the other shook his head and said,
"There’s no need, today’s just a trial, I don’t need to be there, only for the formal event later on. You and Feng Yuan should be at Meteor Valley, it won’t be a problem then."
"Don’t Agunas and the others need to go over to ensure safety?"
Yang Hongzhi scratched his head and curiously asked Najia, having heard Najia talk about the meteor. Although somewhat envious, he didn’t make much of it.
Looking at Yang Hongzhi, Najia smiled and said,
"It definitely will need to run over with Veronia since they’re regional guardian-level Divine Beasts. But Long Boduo shouldn’t have any issues, and with Feng Yuan at your side, I don’t worry about your safety."
As he spoke, tears glistened in Najia’s eyes as he looked at Yang Hongzhi and said softly,
"Please, don’t make me regret alone again, alright?"
Yang Hongzhi stared at Najia for a long time before sighing and saying,
"I promise you, I’ll take care of myself, but you... should understand that we humans..."
"That’s for the future, isn’t it?"
"Sigh, true enough. Don’t worry, I won’t rashly put myself in danger, and Feng Yuan definitely doesn’t only have Long Boduo with him, right? That fellow could probably call even more Divine Beasts over."
Thinking about Feng Yuan’s ability to summon a bunch of Divine Beasts to assist him at any time, Yang Hongzhi found it amusing. He didn’t know how Feng Yuan did it, knowing so many Divine Beasts and that those beasts were willing to help him; it was truly enviable.
"That’s hard to say, but it’s possible he might call Delong Tower."
Najia pondered for a moment and said, not knowing which Divine Beasts Feng Yuan could call upon. After all, he couldn’t command all Divine Beasts, but most were willing to help him. For instance, Nierlat and the others wouldn’t even acknowledge Feng Yuan.
"Let’s hope there’s no need to call Delong Tower."
Najia sighed and said, unlike Yang Hongzhi, he knew Feng Yuan’s true capabilities. If Feng Yuan really took action, their group of Divine Beasts wouldn’t stand a chance.
He let Yang Hongzhi stay with Feng Yuan not because he could summon Divine Beasts but because Feng Yuan himself could protect him. The idea of calling Delong Tower? Probably not Feng Yuan taking action, but it indicated a big problem, especially since Arnis had already locked down the region where Soretcher City was located for this trial.
Meteor Valley was naturally within the lockdown zone too, so if a problem arises that Long Boduo can’t resolve, it might mean even bigger trouble for them there.
Unlike Yang Hongzhi having Najia to gather intel, Qi Chen didn’t have as many information channels. Knowing Soretcher City was going into lockdown, he worriedly looked at Dou Yanlan and said,
"What do we do now? Should we go find Feng Yuan and the others?"
"This shouldn’t be a big problem, since everyone can receive this text message. If it were a serious issue, Feng Yuan or Yang Hongzhi would contact us."
Dou Yanlan thought for a moment and said. After all, they didn’t know where the others were, and if Feng Yuan wanted to find them, the easiest way would be to call and ask for their location. Since neither Feng Yuan nor Yang Hongzhi had called, it proved the situation wasn’t too dire, at least not enough to gather.
Watching the somewhat chaotic street, Dou Yanlan said in confusion,
"Moreover, this matter is very odd. The lockdown is sudden, and something seems amiss. It looks like an unexpected event, yet they haven’t mentioned what exactly happened. It’s possible Soretcher City just learned about this too."
"An unexpected event? Did something major happen? Wait, what’s that?"
At this time, Qi Chen noticed the giant light screen in the sky. Though partially obscured by clouds, Qi Chen could still see that the light screen had completely enveloped the area. What is this situation?
"It should be a barrier to prevent entry and exit. But, does a typical lockdown require such measures?"
Dou Yanlan said, puzzled. Putting other things aside, this either involved some special device or a Divine Beast’s action. Not that she considered ordinary spirit beasts inferior, but estimated that this light screen included the underground. After all, burrowing spirit beasts weren’t unheard of, and covering such a large area and achieving barrier effects was difficult without a Divine Beast.
If it involved Divine Beasts, then Feng Yuan and Yang Hongzhi’s calmness would be expected, considering they knew about the Divine Beasts’ intelligence network and understood that the Divine Beasts following them could relay essential information concerning Divine Beasts.
"Could it be a major event?"
"Should I give him a call to ask?"
Qi Chen hesitated for a moment and asked. Dou Yanlan held Qi Chen’s hand and smiled, saying,
"No need to worry, since they haven’t contacted us, there shouldn’t be any major problem. How about we go take a look over there?"
Inside the Meteorite Museum, Feng Yuan and the others were at the Meteorite Statue Pavilion, customizing statues. After all, that’s what they came for, and the guide had already briefed the store clerk about Feng Yuan and the others. Grateful, the clerk immediately pulled Feng Yuan and the others into a small room behind the shop, revealing to them that the meteorite statues outside were actually cheap machine products.
Seeing the machine that automatically carves statues from photos, Feng Yuan said in surprise,
"Aren’t you supposed to be researching meteors? How did you come up with this?"
"Well, it’s an unexpected twist, since our funding here isn’t substantial. Although resources are plentiful, still..."
The clerk sighed helplessly, explaining. If it were a place like Maomu City, it would be understandable. Soretcher City had many meteor falls, and retrieving them for research consumed significant resources. Even previously, their budget wasn’t sufficient; let alone now. Fortunately, everyone was surprised at the sudden change, with meteors now becoming valuable resources again.
