"Hehe~ This is really fun~"
Feng Yuan sat on a giant bubble, letting it float on the sea’s surface, and said loudly with a satisfied smile. Xiao Ji attempted several times to climb onto the bubble but worried that her claws might accidentally puncture it, angering Feng Yuan. Seeing Xiao Ji still floating on the sea’s surface, Feng Yuan waved his hand and said,
"Aren’t you coming up?"
"No worries, your claws won’t break this thing unless you exert force."
Although the bubble seemed easy to burst, it was actually balanced by Feng Yuan’s energy inside. Unlike ordinary bubbles, the energy within constantly maintained this balance and automatically adapted the added energy to sustain the bubble.
Seeing the bubble Feng Yuan created, nearby tourists were somewhat tempted, as it appeared to be a lot of fun. But they didn’t know how Feng Yuan managed to do it. The bubble seemed like naturally occurring bubbles, but naturally occurring bubbles, though elastic, would burst with force.
Xiao Hei sneaked over, extending a paw with a sly grin. But before it could act, a series of waves slapped it back into the sea, causing it to yelp as it took in a few gulps of seawater and hastily fled.
Sitting atop the bubble, Feng Yuan scoffed and said,
"Trying to trick me? You’re dreaming."
Xiao Ji stood on the bubble, curiously shaking off the seawater from its fur. The strange feeling under its paws made it slightly uncomfortable, but there was only Feng Yuan here with her. It seemed rather nice?
Big Cat floated on the sea while Pomiti sat on its belly munching on snacks. Kong Qing swam around Big Cat to prevent any dangers from emerging. Little Ice Cream ran around, darting into the air and then into the sea, never staying still for a moment.
Long Boduo also developed a playfulness for the bubbles. However, unlike Feng Yuan, who gathered all the bubbles into one large one, he used his power to confine and gather the bubbles together and then burst them all at once. Even though each bubble’s energy was weak, their collective effect still caused the sea to explode like it had been hit by an ultimate move.
After playing a few times, Long Boduo was warned by a lifeguard who came over because it was too easy for him to cause them to misjudge this area as dangerous. Being warned, Long Boduo didn’t leverage his Divine Beast status to continue his antics. Instead, he dove into the sea, gathering a large number of bubbles beneath Feng Yuan’s bubble.
With an influx of bubbles, Feng Yuan’s bubble instantly expanded, startling Xiao Ji to leap into the sky. Xiao Ji looked at Feng Yuan, displeased, and cried. Seeing that Xiao Ji suspected him of playing tricks, Feng Yuan said in grievance,
"What does this have to do with me? It’s not my doing!"
Long Boduo climbed onto the big bubble and said,
"I don’t know how long this size will last, but it’s quite interesting."
Hearing Long Boduo’s words, Xiao Ji immediately knew who was behind the prank. Xiao Ji landed in front of Long Boduo, continuously chirping, but its words seemed to have no effect on Long Boduo, who just laughed and poked Xiao Ji saying,
"This big bubble was too small before, now it’s just right~"
"I bet if you make it angry, you’ll pay for it. Xiao Ji holds grudges."
"Huh?! Well, maybe when we return to the beach, I’ll treat you to something?"
Long Boduo was taken aback and said sheepishly. If it were Agunas, that would be different, since they couldn’t bother him. But Xiao Ji was different; as a Death-series Divine Beast, to some extent, it was considered their superior. If Xiao Ji truly held grudges, Long Boduo would be in trouble.
Though Xiao Ji didn’t quite understand Feng Yuan’s meaning while disagreeing with Feng Yuan calling it petty, Xiao Ji couldn’t help but cry triumphantly when seeing Long Boduo conceding.
Veronia floated over on a Rainbow Bubble and, seeing Feng Yuan’s enormous bubble, said in amazement,
"He’s really playful, but won’t something this big get a warning?"
Veronia had seen the scene where Long Boduo’s antics resulted in warnings. Feng Yuan managed this, and the lifeguards didn’t intervene?
Belusir smiled lightly and said,
"Probably not, as it doesn’t really affect others or cause misunderstandings."
No matter how one looked at it, it was just a big bubble, inherently not threatening, nor would it make anyone think something bad was happening here.
"Really? I feel like with him around, it might not be very peaceful, but never mind, how about accompanying me over there?"
Understanding Veronia’s mood was low due to the Rock Paintings, Belusir nodded in understanding and followed Veronia to the pile of rocks. Veronia climbed up the rocks and sat there looking at the sea, saying,
"The sea, in our Mythical Era, was an extremely dangerous place. Even we dared not easily venture into its depths. At that time, for everything on land, for the unknown goal, we battled each other, only to face catastrophe and see everything vanish."
"Mythical Era, huh, an interesting name. We were gods but not omnipotent. I was truly amazed when I learned Agunas appeared in modern times."
Veronia said, clutching her legs and glancing at those male tourists sneaking glances at her and Belusir.
"I always thought I was the only one lucky enough to escape that catastrophe. But, it turns out, there are quite a few Mythological Remnants like me."
"I don’t know if I should be happy, but facing this completely different world, I’m left with only my solitary memories..."
Listening to Veronia quietly speaking, Belusir sighed gently, embracing Veronia without persuading, just letting her talk and vent, while male tourists who were watching felt heartache but didn’t dare approach. After a while, Veronia sighed and said,
"Thank you, it’s been a long time since anyone listened to me complain..."
"Why, why is there no reincarnation in this world..."
Veronia gazed at Feng Yuan, murmuring, while Belusir soothingly patted Veronia, comforting her, saying,
"Even if there were reincarnation, what could be done? He’s started a new life. Would disrupting his new life truly be good for him?"
"I..."
"If there were reincarnation, maybe I’d try to make amends to them. But I don’t know if I could do it well. If I kept causing worse outcomes like before, that wouldn’t be good..."
Belusir shook its head and said,
"Things that haven’t happened, no one knows what they might lead to, just like what I did back then..."
Feng Yuan was playing around with Long Boduo and the others, not noticing the situation here. The big bubble had already been released by Feng Yuan and now he and Xiao Ji were competing on who could find the most interesting thing underwater. To ensure fairness, Feng Yuan sealed their ability to scan the area below with spiritual power, avoiding the disparity between Long Boduo and Xiao Ji’s spiritual power from causing Xiao Ji’s dissatisfaction.
As for him? He wouldn’t use Divine Sense, and he wasn’t that bored to cheat on rules he set himself. Underwater bubbles bumping against them felt like hitting rubber balls, and the deeper they went, the stronger the elastic force became. In the area near the seabed, the bubbles’ force felt slightly painful.
Perhaps due to this, underwater resources in this area were richer compared to those near the beach. After all, tourists came to play, forcibly approaching this area might hurt them, so naturally, they wouldn’t dive here.
Xiao Ji was annoyed by the bubbles constantly bumping into her, fluttering her wings to disrupt the surrounding water flows. But when she added her own power, the bubbles’ internal energy balance was destroyed, instantly bursting and creating effects akin to an ultimate move’s strike. Fortunately, Xiao Ji quickly regained composure, swiftly evading the aftermath of the exploding bubbles and rushing toward a target on the seabed, grabbing a shell and quickly surfacing.
Long Boduo wasn’t affected by the bubbles as its strength was evident; they merely caused discomfort. Carefully selecting, Long Boduo brought what it considered the best item to the surface.
After a while, Feng Yuan picked up a small piece of rock and swam to the surface. Seeing Feng Yuan, Xiao Ji chirped as if wanting to see what everyone found.
