That’s really great, this is the passion of men, so exhilarating.
He used all his strength, once again smashing towards the steel billet, the next moment his lips twitched slightly.
He hit it crooked again, after a heavy hammer blow, he needs a small hammer to fix it.
Such a mistake made him calm down, but unfortunately, the sound from Li Younan was so alluring, it compelled him to engage.
Forget it, forget it, why bother with so many things, having an opponent like this is worth it.
Compared to Brother Liu’s inner turmoil at this moment, Li Younan was undistracted, with no stray thoughts.
Others had no idea how terrifying Li Younan’s state was at this moment.
This was the ultimate Hundred Refinements Steel Hammering Technique, precise to the exact number of hammers. He needed to hammer through 6 rounds, each round 36 hammers, temperature accurately controlled around 900, this was the first round of steel billet forging.
Li Younan’s every hammer blow was crisp, without any muffled sound, spacing all even, surface impurities smoothly hammered out. When he finished three rounds of hammering, exactly 108 hammers, the intermediate long billet for this sword was forged.
And the next step is the most crucial because the design of this sword is so iconic, to recreate such a design, truly masterly techniques must be used.
The temperature lowered, the sword Li Younan was forging was divided into three sections: the blade, the guard, the grip, every position must be precise.
At this moment, the ultimate aesthetic skills and ultimate forging skills achieved a top-level fusion, he truly felt what it meant to have confidence and assurance.
He looked at this steel billet, seeing not the glowing red steel, but the already forged sword, he needed to forge out its true form bit by bit.
As time ticked by, the shape of Li Younan’s sword gradually emerged.
The photographer was the first to feel surprised.
Because the sword that Li Younan was forging had an incredibly peculiar design.
How to put it, it didn’t look like something anyone would use in real life.
Next was the roaming host in the venue, he noticed the peculiar shape of Li Younan’s sword too, curiously asked, “Which country’s weapon is this?”
Li Younan smiled and said, “Actually, this doesn’t exist in reality, it comes from a TV series or movie adapted from a famous comic in our country. After the forging is complete, I’ll explain the background of this sword in detail.”
As time ticked by, everyone started to accelerate their progress.
Hu Jixi, although encountered some trouble initially while handling the linkage steel, quickly adjusted his condition, using his best technique to catch up, surprisingly became the first among them to forge the knife.
After forging the knife, he clearly breathed a sigh of relief, there are even more than twenty minutes until time ends.
Next to him, Dali Ben encountered some trouble after quenching, his blade was clearly not that straight, but fortunately, time was quite abundant, there was still time for repair.
Brother Liu was the most pitiful at this time.
The two neighbors already basically forged their knives, only he was still battling with the glowing red knife billet.
He couldn’t help glancing at Li Younan, who was the furthest apart.
Only saw, Li Younan was using sandpaper to polish the sword blade, after polishing the blade, he glanced at the time, slightly smiled, then before Brother Liu could clearly see the design of Li Younan’s knife blade, the whole knife was immersed in a specially designed solvent.
That sight naturally attracted the judges’ attention and also Hu Jixi, who had already finished forging, curiously asked, “What is this step?”
Only saw the whole sword entirely immersed into the solvent.
Li Younan smiled and said, “This is the Awakening step, this step is its soul.”
Hu Jixi was full of curiosity, surprisingly also expected a bit.
Actually, the color is the soul, this is a special modified agent, specially suitable for 4340 steel.
As time ticked by, over there Dali Ben finally completed the correction of the knife blade, then hastily proceeded to the final step of acid etching.
The knife he used employed the Damascus forging method, after acid soaking, beautiful patterns emerged.
On the other side, the judges were cheerfully jeering, constantly urging: “Come on, Liu!”
At this time, sweat had already seeped on Brother Liu’s forehead, when there were only three minutes left, finally completed quenching.
No matter what the outcome is, at least he completed his work before time ends, he slightly sighed.
Damn, the same hand-forged process, why does Li Younan over there appear so at ease.
Because the whole session he was rushing against time, he basically didn’t pay attention to others’ forging.
At this time he finally had the time to look at Li Younan who was also hand-forging like him.
The host started counting down, “Folks, there’s only the last ten seconds left.”
He looked towards Li Younan, “Buddy, is your knife ready? Next is the countdown.”
Li Younan slightly smiled, began the final step of wrapping up, he wore gloves to take the sword from the solvent.
Only saw this was a pitch-black thing.
For a moment everyone was a bit stunned.
This color?
Li Younan used a cloth dipped in oil, gently wiped off all the remaining dirt on the sword blade, finally revealing the true face of the sword.
Only saw the sword blade was mysterious black, the guard, grip, and blade’s shape were extremely peculiar, yet exuded a sort of bizarre aesthetic.
Over there, Brother Liu’s lips twitched slightly, looking at Li Younan’s highly complete and peculiarly designed sword, then looking at his somewhat rough sword body, for a moment felt extremely complex emotions.
Hand-forged... Could it be that I’m not truly the peak?
And if this episode broadcasts, when post-80s and 90s Chinese people see this sword, immediately they’ll recall a line: Gold scales are not ordinary items, they transform into dragons upon encountering skies and clouds.
Li Younan was even more excited than others present, for them, this was just an ordinary work from the Sword Forging Competition.
But... Damn, this was his childhood dream!
The sword of the king of vanity, an unparalleled good sword!
