"Can anyone be too dumb to learn Maxwell’s equations?"
This phrase quickly went viral across major video platforms.
Li Younan’s livestream had attracted a huge following, with everyone eager to see how he would use his impressive woodworking skills to renovate that RV.
However, no one expected that Li Younan would start with operations that the average person couldn’t comprehend, involving a set of high-tech electromagnetic suspension equipment, followed by more actions like wiring and coding.
Initially, it was all boring to the audience, but after Li Younan said that sentence, everything changed.
At first, people were just joking around with it.
Then, when someone who understood the significance of Li Younan’s statement explained it... though most still didn’t comprehend it, they suddenly realized there was something extraordinary.
Li Younan’s scientific literacy and proficiency seemed to far exceed what everyone had imagined!
This was particularly evident to his earliest followers.
Aside from a few who were attracted by his looks, many people initially followed Li Younan back when he was a bit-part actor.
Back then, Li Younan showcased his commendable physical fitness and parkour skills, capturing the attention of his first batch of curious fans.
Subsequently, he repeatedly demonstrated his cooking, woodworking, and plumbing knowledge... which was still quite reasonable, since these are all life skills, and Li Younan was simply meticulous about it, still within everyone’s understanding.
But it started getting more and more absurd later on, like equestrianism, archery, skiing...
And the classic "We’re here, might as well climb Gongga Mountain."
At this point, people’s perception of Li Younan was: this guy’s physical quality is like that of an innate adventurer’s sacred body!
Then, Li Younan displayed his wilderness survival abilities and astounding artistic talent...
This part was already becoming difficult for people to understand.
At this point, everyone’s perception of Li Younan reached another level...
Turns out his body isn’t the only thing exceptional; his mind is too!
At this moment, people recalled that Li Younan was actually a graduate from a prestigious university, so as a science and engineering graduate from a top university, understanding Maxwell’s equations is quite reasonable, right?
Thinking in this way, what Li Younan is doing now seems to be the most logical thing he’s done on this journey?
Suddenly, someone on the internet gave Li Younan a label that many netizens echoed.
"Modern Da Vinci."
Then it further evolved into...
"Domestic Modern Da Vinci."
"Da Vinci-style Traveler."
And the eternally evolving, super old yet classic meme...
"Hello everyone, I’m a traveler, wilderness survival expert, sculptor, top porcelain restorer, mechanic... Da Vinci!"
"Wait a minute, is Da Vinci a profession now? To the person above!"
"What’s that electromagnetic suspension of yours for anyway? I don’t really understand..."
In the video, JK Long asked with a curious expression.
Since successfully meeting up with JK Long, their communication had finally expanded from text chatting to video chatting.
Admittedly, video chatting is indeed much more efficient than text chatting.
While text is straightforward, some information can’t be conveyed through text, such as the shine in JK Long’s big eyes filled with innocence and thirst for knowledge, which even the most detailed text couldn’t describe.
However, Li Younan had to admit that while JK Long in the video was quite pleasant to look at, in reality, she was even more stunning.
Li Younan even felt a bit regretful, thinking that he should have coaxed her to meet up sooner, knowing how Brother Long turned out to be like this.
Li Younan explained, "Let’s compare the box of this vehicle to a house. The chassis of the car and the box is supposed to be connected, right? When the car hits bumps, it transmits the bumps into the box. But our electromagnetic suspension, simply put, is a base that can actively adjust the height of different angles based on the bumps below, keeping our ’house’ in a stable horizontal position. Does that make sense to you now?"
If we consider the RV as a real house, then its body structure and the box’s framework are the foundation of this house.
In this regard, no matter how skilled a modifier might be, they need to rely on the equipment from big manufacturers to reinforce it.
Even if Li Younan possessed top-tier electrical technology, truly designing a suspension, even with an entire team and sufficient resources, couldn’t be achieved in just a few years.
The ultra-high-end off-road chassis suspension of the Unimog and the electromagnetic secondary suspension of Yunnan Z are the foundation of this RV; neither can be compromised, nor should they be scrimped on.
Although Li Younan has the capability to handcraft an excellent RV from a van, the comfort, safety, and passability fall far below Li Younan’s goals.
A month later, Li Younan’s electromagnetic suspension and the Unimog chassis finally merged perfectly together.
In addition to perfectly achieving the dynamic vector electromagnetic force to offset stress and retaining the original vehicle’s frame torsion redundancy, Li Younan also developed a chassis box coupling control protocol for the vehicle, integrating Yunnan Z into the original Unimog’s bus system.
All in all, while the current Unimog remains a shell, its off-road capabilities and box’s comfort and stability have reached their pinnacle.
Li Younan drove the vehicle around the RV park, testing it out. It was, by all means, perfect.
However, there was still a step to be completed at the RV factory, which was to modify the box’s soundproofing seal and insulation.
These required the most professional equipment and materials, and once these tasks were completed, Li Younan secured a mobile shell home.
And to carry out the fine renovation of this shell house, he’d have to drive back himself and work on it slowly.
For Li Younan, who possesses top-notch carpentry and electrical skills, even though the final tasks all need to be completed by himself, they are actually the easiest part.
Of course, before he actually drives the vehicle away, there’s an important step: to borrow the RV factory’s credentials for legality verification, which is quite troublesome.
Because the car was purchased without corresponding registration records at the vehicle management office, there’s no way to license it, nor to purchase insurance.
In this matter, the RV factory was particularly reliable. From the start of Li Younan’s RV modification, they had proceeded with a pre-declaration announcement, and it successfully passed the national type testing.
In this way, Li Younan’s RV became a truly road-legal vehicle.
After all the procedures were completed, Li Younan could finally drive the car away.
It was already nearing December, and the weather was getting cold.
The life ahead basically revolved around this RV, becoming somewhat monotonous.
Li Younan simply drove the vehicle back to the county and started slow modifications.
Just like renovating a house.
After purchasing the necessary tools and materials for the modification, all subsequent work could be independently completed as long as there was a suitable location.
Initially, Li Younan stayed in the county for a while, but every time he parked the car under his mom’s office courtyard to modify it, quite a few people would gather around, and he would have to explain things to them for a while.
Plus, it’s a bit awkward to do live streaming with a crowd, so Li Younan simply drove the car to his grandfather’s place in the countryside to modify.
Since it was already winter, his grandfather’s guesthouse was closed, and without other things to do, Li Younan stayed there.
The slightly troublesome part was transporting materials from the county, but for Li Younan, it wasn’t a big deal. After all, his mom had to work, so taking the opportunity to visit home wasn’t bad.
The RV transformation was going very smoothly.
Before the students went on vacation, Li Younan had already completed most of the work.
After that, his cousin Lu Xiaolan also went on holiday. As a university student, Lu Xiaolan had no winter homework and didn’t participate in any holiday activities, so she started pestering Li Younan to hang out as soon as she returned to the county.
Li Younan happened to need a photographer, so he simply brought her over to work for free.
Of course, Lu Xiaolan didn’t quite have any awareness about being a free worker.
During school, she lived quite carefree and proud.
Because, "carelessly," her roommates found out her cousin was a top-tier live streamer, and again "carelessly," this knowledge spread, making her the center of attention in her small circle.
Everyone was quite polite and friendly to her.
Some of Li Younan’s fans even went around several circles to find her just to get his autograph.
Of course, while feeling proud, she adhered to the mindset of not causing trouble for her cousin and didn’t make any rash promises.
But for the autograph, well, there was no issue.
She could have her cousin sign one and then replicate a bunch of copies.
Now that her cousin was back, the first thing she did was pull him to take tons of photos, choosing some to post on social media.
The only thing she was slightly dissatisfied about was that her cousin still looked handsome in the photos, yet she didn’t look quite the same, but there was no choice. She carefully selected a few pictures and posted them anyway.
Next was the enjoyable moment of receiving likes and comments.
Grandpa and Grandma didn’t quite understand what Li Younan was tinkering with, but having their grandson stay over made them genuinely happy.
Since Li Younan helped them renovate the old house and set up the guesthouse, there were always visitors in the courtyard, with at least a dozen families staying every month.
The income was one thing, but the courtyard being lively was more important — Grandpa didn’t mind outsiders like some elderly people do, but outsiders can’t warm the heart as much.
With Li Younan around, Grandpa and Grandma were always thinking of slaughtering chickens and ducks, just asking what he’d like to eat.
The old couple didn’t do heavy work anymore; raising chickens and ducks was easy, and all the poultry in the courtyard were healthy and plump.
Compared to lots of meat, Li Younan actually preferred some light farm dishes, which left Lu Xiaolan quite disgruntled.
Isn’t this... has my cousin started living like a monk?
Meat, please, meat...
Before the New Year, Li Younan’s car was nearly done, just lacking some household appliances to complete the work.
Aside from the appliances, the vehicle already was a super invincible and perfect mobile doomsday fortress.
Li Younan was very pleased.
He didn’t plan to buy the appliances online but wanted to drive to Chengdu and pick them offline.
After discussing his plan with Brother Long, Brother Long cautiously asked, "Could you... first drive the car to our neighborhood?"
"You want to see it?"
"Mm... There’s something I want to discuss with you."
"Oh... Sure."
Li Younan was quite proud of his masterpiece and wanted to show off a bit in front of Brother Long, so he readily agreed.
