(ps: The two updates have exhausted my energy bar, there won’t be any updates at midnight tonight, I’ll make it up tomorrow!)
That evening, Liu Li was smoothly discharged from the hospital, and Li Younan sent the sibling duo home.
To this point, the matter had finally come to a close.
However, after the matter ended, a few aftershocks came in succession.
Li Younan realized this issue only when he was driving home alone, that during the finals of the fishing competition, quite a number of fans had traveled from afar to the venue to watch him compete, but he left in a hurry without informing anyone, leaving those fans puzzled even now.
Naturally, this would create some negative impact.
Li Younan was not worried about rumors of him faking the preliminary contest; nevertheless, in any case, he had hurt a wave of fans’ feelings, considering those who would go to watch the contest on-site should be highly loyal fans.
To address this, Li Younan specifically made a video to apologize to everyone.
The video was shot after he returned home, without needing Liu Li’s help in editing, he simply recorded an apology, which was sincere, albeit not very detailed.
In the video, he stated that he had an urgent matter to attend to, hence had to resolve it immediately, apologizing to all the fans who came to the venue to watch him compete.
Moreover, to show his sincerity, Li Younan also arranged a simple raffle event to compensate those fans who came on-site.
Thus, he managed to soothe the sentiments of some complaining fans.
After finishing these tasks, it was already late at night, and Li Younan felt a bit helpless. To be honest, living off the fan economy is not an easy task.
By this time, his mom had already gone to rest, and Li Younan lay on his bed, took out his phone, and glanced at his bank card balance.
Currently, his savings were over 1 million yuan. Truth be told, given his current number of followers, this earning speed is genuinely not considered fast.
The main reason is that he earns his money conscientiously; all the ads and endorsements he undertakes are genuinely useful or well-reputed items. Most ads he takes on are for brand-enhancing products, meaning those items already have high market acceptance.
If he wanted to make money quickly, there are many ways; numerous collaborators have sent messages suggesting various quick money-making collaborations, but he refused them all.
Currently, his savings aren’t considered small, given he is only 26 years old. How many young people can say they have over 1 million in savings and a car at the age of 26?
This is achieved without even focusing all his energy on making money.
Yet, going forward, Li Younan still needs to consider making more money, as when he returned this afternoon, his mom bought a folding bathtub, and even though it’s foldable, it still feels a bit cramped in the bathroom. She looked slightly concerned but did not complain much, instead jokingly vented a bit: "Our bathroom is so small, it can’t even fit a tiny bathtub."
Li Younan knew his mom had developed a liking for soaking baths.
Previously, they didn’t have the conditions, but during their time in Chengdu, Li Younan took his mom to a hot spring hotel for a spa once, and since that experience, she found that such leisure quickly relaxes the body, and the skin becomes much more moisturized, much better than applying cucumbers or whatnot.
She wanted to set up a spot for soaking in the home bathroom as well, but the folding bathtub brought home this time would have to be returned tomorrow.
Li Younan started to ponder, perhaps it’s time to get a new house for his mom.
But whether to purchase a house in the small town or choose one in Chengdu with better surroundings?
If it’s the former, 1 million along with the renovation is more than sufficient, but wanting to settle in Chengdu, 1 million is definitely far from enough.
Previously, conditions didn’t allow, but now, he should start considering these aspects.
Certainly, the better choice would be "I want it all."
Currently, with his video updates, his monthly income amounts to roughly between 300,000 to 500,000 yuan. To buy a desirable house in Chengdu, it would take at least a year or two of saving, and he intends not to purchase an off-plan property nor to mortgage.
Despite knowing his income shouldn’t drastically decrease, being a video blogger isn’t a stable job, as there are too many uncertainties, like the slander similar to before with Mr. Xu, which could cause temporary fluctuations in income, so to be safe, Li Younan plans to pay the full amount for the house.
Li Younan intends not to disclose this matter to his mom, intending to surprise her once the house is bought with full payment.
Buying a house in the small town doesn’t seem necessary, Li Younan’s idea is to bring his mom as much as possible to live in Chengdu.
He has always been considering this matter before, despite his mom still having some time till retirement, but once his income further advances, early retirement for mom is possible...
If one feels a little pity for the years of social security pensions paid, at most, they could ask Liu Yu to sign a labor contract with their company, allowing mom to work as an accountant for a day or two each month, and simply continue the social security and provident fund... a little maneuvering should suffice.
For now, the priority is to ascertain whether mom is willing to live in Chengdu.
In the small town, mom doesn’t have many relatives or friends, and the distance between Chengdu and the town isn’t too far, just one or two hours by car, so that’s not an issue.
Living in Chengdu would surely enhance the quality of life significantly.
Mom has worked hard for so long; she deserves to enjoy life.
While lost in such scattered thoughts, Liu Li sent a message.
When Liu Li sent a message to Li Younan, she felt a bit strange.
Before, she hadn’t met Li Younan offline, so there was always a sense of online interaction, but sending a message now, it felt uncannily like a bare, honest encounter... astonishingly, with a touch of inexplicable shyness.
Actually, what interests her the most right now is wanting to know how Li Younan views her, to put it plainly, does he think she looks good?
This was a rather important matter to her.
Comments before junior high can be ignored. After all, we were all little kids back then and didn’t know any better.
Since after junior high, she’s gradually closed herself off in this small space, interacting with fewer and fewer people.
Though her brother always said she was cute and pretty, comparing herself to those celebrities and streamers on the internet, it seemed like she was just as good. Yet ultimately, the only ones whose opinions truly mattered were hers and her brother’s.
Li Younan was probably the first person who saw her without any pretense.
But it’s not easy to ask directly, "Do you think I’m good-looking?" That would just sound really dumb.
So after pondering for a long time, Liu Li sent Li Younan the first message: "I heard from my brother that today, not only did you skip the fishing contest, but you also sped all the way to Chengdu. Are you deliberately trying to make me feel guilty? Well, I’m feeling guilty now, so what are you going to do about it?"
Li Younan saw the message and chuckled to himself, replying, "Reasonable and well-founded, clearly it’s my fault. With such righteous indignation, should I compensate you with some money?"
Liu Li sent a sneaky smile emoji and said, "Alright, alright, seeing that you’re so willing to admit your mistake, I’ll let you off this time. But next time, if it happens again, I’ll turn you into a pig-head."
After sending this message, Liu Li couldn’t help but laugh.
At this moment, she was lying on her back playing with her phone, but didn’t hold it steady, and it fell down with a "thud" smashing onto her face, she cried out "ow ow" in pain.
Despite this, she felt a bit inexplicably relaxed.
You see, previously she always talked to Li Younan in the persona of Brother Long, adding some masculine traits deliberately in conversations and messages, sometimes it felt quite disjointed to her.
Although for a while, hearing Li Younan constantly say "Brother Long, I’m sorry" or "Brother Long, do you smoke?" was amusing, but now being herself she realized... it’s more comfortable being true to herself.
Liu Li sat up straight again, seeing that Li Younan hadn’t replied, so she proactively sent another message: "What’s your plan next, I mean, what’s your travel plan?"
Li Younan said, "Currently, there’s no detailed plan, do you have any good suggestions?"
Liu Li hesitated for a long time, sitting on the bed pinching her toes, she thought for a while and then said, "Everyone says you must drive the 318 in your lifetime, do you have any thoughts about it?"
On the other side, Li Younan saw this message and found it rather amusing.
Hmm... 318.
Certainly, the 318 must be explored, although it’s been overplayed, it’s popular for a reason; it’s a scenic national highway that spans a large part of China.
Starting from Chengdu to Lhasa is the essence of the 318.
However, Li Younan thinks that traveling the 318 is different from visiting central, eastern, and southern China.
As you head west, the main characteristic is that the land becomes more expansive and populated less densely.
From a negative perspective, there are naturally fewer places to obtain supplies, but from a positive angle, heading west means there are more places where you can be undisturbed by nature, making the travel experience purer.
Besides that, the checkpoints along the way become increasingly interesting.
Therefore, Li Younan’s thought is that if heading west, going from Lhasa to southern Xinjiang, it’s best to drive a vehicle adaptable for resting and living anytime, anywhere.
The best choice would be an RV.
However, not all RVs are suitable, considering some segments of the 318 are not in great condition, so a certain level of off-road capability is needed.
Yet, RVs with off-road capabilities cost significantly more than standard RVs.
Li Younan briefly discussed his thoughts with Liu Li, and Liu Li asked somewhat puzzledly, "So you’re saying you want to buy an RV before going there for the trip?"
Li Younan replied, "Actually, you can modify one yourself, it would be more fun altering it to meet your own needs."
Liu Li stared at her phone screen, her heart inexplicably racing, she cautiously asked, "So which RVs are the best?"
Liu Li really didn’t understand this stuff.
Li Younan chuckled, casually answering, "Which RV, hmm, if you go there, and if you have the means, Unimog has greater modification potential..."
"Oh, Unimog," Liu Li silently noted the name.
By now, it was late at night, Li Younan glanced at the time intending to end the chat, saying, "You just got back home, don’t stay up late tonight, get some rest early."
Liu Li was quite obedient, replying, "Alright."
It was the next day, Liu Yu prepared breakfast and called Liu Li to get up.
Liu Li rubbed her sleepy eyes, came out of the room in her pajamas, and upon seeing her brother, she suddenly felt energized.
Her brother was about to go to work and was having breakfast, he looked at his sister and asked, "How was your rest last night?"
Liu Li shook her head, "Let’s not talk about that for now, brother, I want to buy Li Younan a big RV, can you provide the money to buy him a Unimog?"
Liu Yu was instantly choked, spraying a mouthful of milk.
Liu Li looked at her brother innocently and puzzled, unable to resist blinking her eyes.
