As the livestream proceeded, many international students living in the United States suddenly found a way to make money,
They recorded Li Younan’s livestream, made clips, and posted them on domestic social media platforms.
And so, a miraculous scene occurred.
The influx of viewers had the algorithm recommend Li Younan to larger audience pools, and his fan count started to soar during the livestream, quickly surpassing 200,000.
All Hunters entering the third round have a unified task: see whose points are the highest after three days. Hunting a wild boar earns three points, a white-tailed deer gets two points, and a turkey gets one point.
At this time, they looked at fellow internet celebrities Julian, Mark, and Rodris. In comparison, their livestream equipment was superior, but even Mark had just over 3,000 viewers.
The Mexican became instantly enraged, about to explode, but the buzz-cut man snuffed out the half-smoked cigarette abruptly, narrowed his eyes, and said, "Stick to the old plan, disguise as hikers, seize the moment to encounter Li Younan under the cover of darkness, pretend we’re hikers in need of help, then strike when he shows a flaw."
He said, "Look at this."
Their original plan was to approach Li Younan and carry out a kidnapping, but now, although they can use GPS to locate Li Younan, it’s difficult to get close. Moreover, considering Li Younan’s displayed shooting skills and recalling his previous combat prowess, if there were a direct confrontation, the two of them might not be able to take Li Younan down.
Although Li Younan didn’t have many fans in the United States, he was a top influencer back home. When these livestream clips were uploaded to domestic video websites, it unsurprisingly stirred up his fan base who never ventured beyond domestic platforms.
Nevertheless, with Li Younan’s nearly 20 million-strong fan base, even if just 0.01% of them managed to bypass restrictions and watch his livestreams, it would instantly boost the number of viewers in his livestream room.
With growth at this speed, it’s estimated that before the competition ends, he could have over 500,000 fans—having that number of fans in the United States surely grants some influence online.
Of course, many fans didn’t have the capability to do so, nor could they be bothered, leaving comments under the re-uploader’s videos saying "report back soon".
Suddenly, one of the staff members frowned as he stared at Li Younan’s livestream room, prompting others to curiously look over. They didn’t see anything unusual in the footage.
All Hunters at different locations had the same third-round task. Once other Hunters in the same region were eliminated, in theory, only their Hunter team remained in that area, allowing them to hunt freely and boldly.
"As long as we can keep him restrained for an hour, we’ll drain his account of all money, and of course, don’t forget to take all his electronic devices to prevent him from alerting the police immediately."
At this moment, the Chinese man with a buzz cut also found himself in a dilemma; events had developed far beyond their expectations.
"Yeah, those two poor guys were still on their way when they had to turn back."
The others then looked up and were stunned the next moment—30,000 viewers online?
"Right, I never knew this model of hunting rifle could fire that far."
The Mexican man frowned and asked, "So, what should we do next? Do you have a new plan?"
Then the buzz-cut man very seriously added, "Listen, this is a competition after all, we must ensure Li Younan stops his livestream before approaching him."
At this point, Li Younan had returned to the task point and picked up his third-round task.
Agents providing these services made a killing, smiling from ear to ear.
Many ordinary people who had never used VPNs searched online for ways and tutorials on how to bypass restrictions.
The buzz-cut man silently lit a cigarette as the Mexican urged, "Think of something; aren’t you supposed to be smart?"
"Honestly, I was skeptical before seeing him hunt that wild boar, but after watching him successfully take it down, I think it’s highly possible he’ll be the ultimate winner. The distance was simply unbelievable."
Meanwhile, the backstage staff of the organizers were routinely monitoring the videos of the contestants and chatting casually among themselves.
The buzz-cut man glared at him disgruntledly, took a drag on his cigarette, then rested his hand on the window, exhaling smoke through his nose and saying, "Don’t interrupt, you son of a bitch, can’t you see I’m thinking?"
Then he pointed at the number of simultaneous online viewers in the livestream room.
...
Apart from the staff and his fans watching Li Younan’s livestream, in the suburbs near Dog Town, a black Toyota quietly parked with two men inside watching Li Younan’s livestream.
"What is it?"
Everyone left comments under the videos, asking where the livestream footage came from, and upon learning that Li Younan was now in the United States doing livestreams, his enthusiastic fans were eager to support him right away.
"Hey, wait, look, what’s this?"
"Is this guy going to become famous?"
"Buddy, do you think Li Younan will win?"
"I didn’t expect the first Hunter team to be eliminated so soon."
Li Younan saw this task, with the unified timeline set for three days later, and curiously asked, "Is everyone’s task set three days later too?"
