Seeing this scene, the buzz-cut man shouted, "Kill that beast! Kill that beast!"
However, Li Younan ignored the buzz-cut man.
The wild boar was unharmed.
After finishing his task, Li Younan swiftly moved and kept a safe distance from the wild boar.
A trace of fear suddenly flickered in the eyes of the boar, and it turned around and ran without hesitation.
When it reached the Mexicans’ side, they were still groaning incessantly, and the wild boar paused momentarily, nudged one of their faces again, then made its escape.
Li Younan simply watched this quietly without any action.
Only when the wild boar ran far away did Li Younan slowly squat down to pick up the GPS tracker from the ground.
He then looked back at the two petty thieves.
The Mexican was more severely injured, and his narrow escape left him exhausted, lying on the ground, letting out a long breath, still groaning from excessive blood loss, his face devoid of color.
The buzz-cut man beside him was trembling all over, gasping heavily, forcing himself to sit up and look at the wound on his leg.
Probably due to the fading effects of adrenaline, a painful expression appeared on his face as he awkwardly touched his lower back, where the boar had crashed earlier, likely causing significant internal injuries, and worse was the pain in his buttocks.
He looked at the penetrating wound on his calf and his right knee, slowly turning around, touching his buttocks with his hand, finding a bloody hole.
He gritted his teeth, unable to hold back, letting out a mournful cry.
Yet, regardless, his life was spared, though the joy of surviving had not lasted long before Li Younan’s slightly mocking voice reached his ears: "You two used this thing to determine my location, didn’t you? So which ranch staff revealed my GPS data to you? Is he one of the participants?"
Li Youran curiously examined the GPS tracker in his hand.
The wind blew gently.
The buzz-cut man continued to groan, the blood was still flowing in this terrifying wilderness, and at this moment, Li Younan’s voice seemed like a heavy hammer, pressing the darkness, the eeriness, the wind, the shadows of the trees, the whole world upon them.
"I, I..." He swallowed and murmured.
However, Li Younan just calmly sheathed the hunting knife, then sighed slightly: "I’m just a traveler, you know. Before officially becoming a traveler, I was a programmer, and before that, I was a good kid focused on academics. The most violent thing I’ve done was fighting with a male classmate in middle school."
"The complexity of these events I am currently experiencing is simply...unbelievable to me."
"I have no experience dealing with such matters."
"But it doesn’t matter, I have plenty of time. You two think it over, and answer me after thinking carefully."
He pointed at the sports camera on his chest and said, "I’ve recorded everything, oh, and also your conversation in front of the little white horse. Come on, don’t rush, we’ll talk slowly."
...
"For the sake of us all being Chinese, please spare me this time; I’ve lost everything I could lose. If the police come, I’ll surely be deported... I, my passport has been torn by myself, and I can’t go anywhere."
The buzz-cut man confessed everything he could, including targeting Li Younan and attempting to rob him.
Of course, he didn’t express it so blatantly, rather subtly.
But he also knew it wouldn’t help because he didn’t expect Li Younan to have installed a camera on the little white horse, recording his and the Mexican’s conversation entirely.
So it’s better to be honest and try to gain understanding, although the possibility is very slim, it’s his last attempt.
The physical pain and mental torment from his potentially impending fate made him tearfully narrate his story.
Meanwhile, the Mexican no longer had the strength to speak, his lips even turned purple; to be fair, without quick medical attention, his life is in jeopardy.
Li Younan just sighed slightly, shook his head, and said, "If I don’t call the police, you two won’t survive the night in your current state. Would you rather go to prison or choose death?"
This statement rendered the buzz-cut man completely silent.
Then Li Younan said something even more piercing: "The truth is, I know you aren’t regretting now, you just realize you’re doomed, but I can still talk calmly with you only because I enjoy watching you being unlucky."
Then Li Younan shook his head and said earnestly, "I’m not a good person in the true sense, I’m somewhat...scheming."
Then the sound of a helicopter rotor was heard overhead, dispatched by the ranch owner’s rescue team, its powerful blades stirred the wind, causing Li Younan’s clothes to flutter loudly.
He sighed slightly, touched the head of the little white horse nearby with some regret, and said, "Our fate may end here."
Because Li Younan knew well that after such an incident, the upcoming competition certainly would not proceed normally, at least he wouldn’t continue to participate in the final round.
