There’s no denying that Huang Mountain is truly a one-of-a-kind scenic spot in the world.
The bizarre rocks and pine trees here are hard to find elsewhere.
There’s a saying, "Once you’ve seen Jiuzhai, you won’t look at water the same way; once you’ve seen Huang Mountain, you won’t look at mountains the same way." Though it’s a bit exaggerated, after seeing the mountains of Huang Mountain, other places just seem a bit lacking.
But for Li Younan, it’s no big deal.
What he cares about is the spiritual experience during travel, and the people or events he might encounter along the way.
He doesn’t have a particular love for climbing mountains. Huang Mountain, Huashan, Mountain Tai, and Zhangjiajie all have beautiful mountain scenery, but he doesn’t just want to check it off a list or take a few pictures of bizarre rocks.
After reaching the Bright Summit, he also went to see Gongyang Peak, Flying Stone from afar, and White Goose Peak, famous spots that gave him a sense of stepping into primary school textbooks.
When descending the mountain, Li Younan didn’t plan to walk down.
Zhizhi, however, was eager to try because the signboard stated that the distance to descend wasn’t more than a few kilometers, and she thought she could easily make it.
Li Younan said, "I want to take the cable car," earning a slight disdain from Zhizhi.
But Zhizhi didn’t want to walk down the mountain alone.
The rest of the journey was to be a light one, after all, taking the cable car down to Linggu Temple.
Zhizhi still lingered on not being able to walk down.
The staff teased her with a smile, "Good thing you didn’t choose to walk down, you’d probably arrive at this time after dark."
Zhizhi was taken aback, "Is it that exaggerated? Isn’t it just a few kilometers?"
The staff had a somewhat peculiar expression, "That’s hard to explain to you."
Thus, today’s trip to Huang Mountain is considered a perfect ending.
The only regret is that Li Younan didn’t capture many touching moments during the trip.
The atmosphere and feeling conveyed in the childhood textbook story "The Porter" were hard to encounter.
During the time, he did meet an interesting delivery man who seemed to be delivering food to the mountain, carrying an insulated box but not looking that tired.
The surrounding tourists were somewhat surprised, they didn’t expect people to order delivery on Huang Mountain, nor did they expect someone to accept the order.
Upon asking, we learned that not only are the hotel prices on the mountain high, but the variety and price of food can’t compare with those at the foot of the mountain.
Some tourists who choose to climb Huang Mountain over two days want to eat something good, and choose to order delivery.
Zhizhi curiously asked him, "Can you still deliver more orders after finishing this one?"
The delivery man, panting heavily, suddenly broke into a bright smile, "This delivery’s running fee is 800 yuan, and this fee is calculated separately, not including the delivery fee. Each order can earn about 1,000 yuan, so I don’t need to work anymore after delivering this one."
When the delivery man smiled, Li Younan felt it was quite something. The regret was that the moment was fleeting, and Li Younan didn’t catch it on camera.
Besides that, his camera mostly contained photos taken for Zhizhi.
These photos were posed, and although they were of good quality, they lacked the depth compared to those taken in Hengdian. From some perspective, the Hengdian photos were a form of art.
By the time the two returned to the city, it was already night, and they went out for a sumptuous dinner together.
Both of them gained a lot today.
Li Younan naturally made gains, and Zhizhi, having climbed Huang Mountain, gained photos and was inspired by Li Younan to start planning short video shoots.
She followed Li Younan and added him on WeChat.
While adding Zhizhi on WeChat, Li Younan suddenly remembered a thing, doesn’t he have two WeChats now?
When adding Zhizhi on WeChat, Li Younan chose his personal main WeChat.
Afterward, he recalled that the WeChat he added with jk Brother Long was the one he specifically used for short video production work.
He thought about it for a moment and sent jk Brother Long a message, "Add my other WeChat, xxxxx."
Brother Long didn’t, as usual, reply immediately.
This Huang Mountain trip was nearing its end. Next, Li Younan was planning to head west, while Zhizhi was planning to head north to Hefei.
Like Li Younan, Zhizhi is also a newly licensed driver. For her, continuously heading west wasn’t something a novice driver should do. Moreover, the eastern coastal areas already have many places to visit, and the terrain here is relatively flatter, with more convenient transportation. She plans to improve her driving skills before heading to sparsely populated areas.
Before parting ways, Zhizhi showed Li Younan her newly opened video account, which had no followers yet. Li Younan followed her, becoming her first follower. Zhizhi couldn’t stop smiling and said to Li Younan, "Brother Li, next time we meet, I might already be a small streamer."
Li Younan said, "Good luck!"
"You too!"
Returning to the hotel room, Li Younan, as usual, checked his video account metrics again.
Over the past few days, the likes for the video of the modified bed vehicle have surpassed 40,000.
The hardware store owner, as per the contract, sent another 5,000 yuan as a follow-up payment, though the tools in the showcase still hadn’t sold.
Though he didn’t know if he had helped the owner sell anything, the owner was undeniably honest, surely bound for success!
Although Li Younan’s wallet isn’t exactly bulging, at least he wasn’t feeling anxious anymore, and manufacturers have continuously approached him for collaboration. But after browsing them, he found few suitable ones. His idea was that for accepting advertisements, he should have used the product himself, or better yet, find someone to manage his business affairs.
He couldn’t ask jk Brother Long for this, after all, they only knew each other online. Asking him to be his editor was fine, but to handle business matters would involve too much privacy.
Fortunately, there weren’t too many business deals to handle right now; this could wait and be dealt with slowly in the future.
During climbing today, he used an action camera to shoot a lot of footage, and sent these clips to jk Brother Long, but Brother Long still hadn’t responded.
Before washing up, his mom suddenly video-called him. Li Younan quickly sat down and answered, and there appeared a simple little girl on the screen — his cousin, his aunt’s daughter, named Lu Xiaolan.
Xiaolan smiled broadly, "Cousin, I came to your house to play today." Li Younan suddenly remembered, Xiaolan had completed her college entrance exam, and by calculating the time, her results should have already been released.
Indeed, his mom said from the side, "Where are you now? Xiaolan’s college entrance exam results are out, and we’re discussing her applications."
His cousin said, "Let’s not talk about college applications now. Cousin, Aunt said you quit your job to travel, you’re amazing, you’re my idol... I want to be like you too!"
Li Younan felt his heart skip a beat.
