What should they do? Seeing Xiaofu, Mu Xianling and the other two girls panicked, their bodies trembling uncontrollably.
"Brother Tang Yi, save me!"
Terrified, Tang Shu shouted to the sky again. As if once wasn’t enough, she screamed Tang Yi’s name at the top of her lungs, over and over.
"Go on, scream. See if anyone dares to answer you."
Xiaofu sneered.
"BOOM!"
"Hmph!"
A sudden explosion echoed from the sky, immediately followed by a loud, cold snort from above!
"Who’s there!"
Xiaofu hastily stopped what he was doing and looked up at the sky. And then, a black shadow plummeted from the sky. It landed with a THUD next to Xiaofu, like a sack of sand.
Curious about what it was, Xiaofu cautiously walked over to take a look and immediately discovered... it was a corpse.
When he rolled the body over and saw its face, Xiaofu went pale with shock.
It was Jiao Zhiming’s body!
’How could Jiao Zhiming die here?’
Seeing Jiao Zhiming’s body, Xiaofu was stunned. He knew Jiao Zhiming’s strength; even if he wasn’t exceptional, he was still a Battle King. An ordinary examinee couldn’t possibly be his opponent, let alone kill him!
Besides, he was with Shao Yushan. Two Battle Kings, as long as they didn’t run into a Demon Beast like the Fire Scorpion Giant Frog, should be invincible in this Little Extreme Sacred Land. Unless...
Unless they ran into that examinee ranked second on the leaderboard! At this thought, Xiaofu suddenly remembered the messages he had received from Jiao Zhiming on his Jade Pendant earlier...
He glanced around. After confirming that no one else was nearby besides the corpse and Mu Xianling’s group, Xiaofu quickly flicked his wrist, produced the Jade Pendant, and checked the messages.
The first message from Jiao Zhiming on the Jade Pendant read as follows.
"Master Fu, we’ve found the examinee ranked second on the West Mansion leaderboard! Location is XXXXX! This examinee is incredibly powerful; even the Fire Scorpion Giant Frog died at his hands! Shao Yushan and I have no chance of winning against him. We’re sending this message back to see what the team leader’s instructions are. Please reply quickly after receiving this."
About ten minutes after the first message, a second one arrived.
"Master Fu, this is bad. The examinee is trying to force us to withdraw from the House Entrance Examination, or he’ll kill us. The situation is grim. If you receive this, please send reinforcements quickly."
The third message.
"Master Fu, we incited over a hundred examinees from the Three Major Zones to fight him to the death so we could slip away. But... that examinee killed all hundred of them in a single move! Just one move! Not even ashes were left! And... and now he’s chasing us! Master Fu, help!"
The fourth message.
"I’m sending this message in secret because the examinee has already cornered us. He seems to have figured out our identities and is starting to interrogate us. Old Shao and I have decided to split up and run!"
The fifth message.
"Master Fu!! By the time you receive this message, I don’t know if we’ll still be alive! That examinee is too strong! In just one move, a single move, Old Shao died at his hands! He’s coming after me! He’s coming!"
The messages on the Jade Pendant ended there... These messages painted a clear picture of what happened. They revealed the sheer terror of Jiao Zhiming and Shao Yushan, and the overwhelming power of the other examinee!
’The examinee ranked second on the leaderboard?’
’They actually ran into him?’
’Killed over a hundred West Mansion examinees in a single move?’
’Killed a Battle King-level Martial Artist in a single move?’
’How could he be that powerful?’
Although Xiaofu had known the examinee ranked second on the leaderboard would be strong, this level of power was still beyond his expectations.
Xiaofu’s brow furrowed deeply. He felt the situation was dire. At this moment, no matter how beautiful Mu Xianling and the other two girls were, he was in no mood to appreciate them. He knew he had to report this to Hex Anmin at once!
’That examinee is so powerful. Our mission this time is in big trouble!’
Xiaofu pulled out another Jade Pendant, intending to pass on the information. This was a major development, after all. When it came to duty versus pleasure, Xiaofu knew how to prioritize.
However, just as Xiaofu was about to send the message, another black shadow shot down from the sky, accompanied by a loud whistling of air.
"BOOM!"
When the figure’s feet touched the ground, it created a massive boom. The momentum was staggering.
Xiaofu looked toward the figure and saw that the person who had dropped from the sky was an examinee in the uniform of the North District. He wasn’t exactly handsome, but he was decent-looking—above average.
Strangely, despite the North District examinee’s astonishing landing, Xiaofu couldn’t sense any powerful aura from him at all. He seemed just like an ordinary person!
’What’s going on?’
’Who is he?’
’Could he be... the examinee ranked second on the West Mansion leaderboard?’
While Xiaofu was still puzzling over this, he saw the North District examinee start walking toward him, step by step. The man was radiating an immense rage, as if he were literally on fire. His eyes were bloodshot as he glared at Xiaofu and said in a raw, hoarse voice, "Tell me. How do you want to die!"
