Within the Martial Arts Slot, you could also sort by category.
Martial Techniques of all kinds, such as the Fist Skill Species, Sword Skill Species, and Saber Techniques, could be previewed using these categories, which was very convenient.
Tang Yi opened the Fist Skill category, then randomly clicked on an icon named ’Sobbing Fist’.
The name of this Martial Technique had a certain ring to it; it was probably a very good one.
However, from the icon alone, Tang Yi could only see the Martial Technique’s name. As for whether it was powerful or not, he would have to click the icon and read the description to find out...
Name: Sobbing Fist
Grade: Heaven Tier Middle Grade
Description: A Fist Skill rumored to have been created by the Battle Lord Powerhouse ’Shenyuan’ during the Primordial Era. The story goes that when Shenyuan was defeated in a battle with a rival, his beloved wife was killed by that same opponent. Overcome with grief and rage, Shenyuan went into seclusion and trained diligently. He channeled all his sorrow into power, infusing it into his fist techniques to create this very skill. He later used this fist technique to return and kill his rival, avenging his wife. After his vengeance was complete, he passed the Fist Skill down to future generations.
When this technique is performed, it is accompanied by a tremendous, sorrowful cry, like the wail of a vengeful spirit. It can affect an opponent’s mind to a certain degree and is incredibly powerful.
After reading the description for Sobbing Fist, Tang Yi’s heart pounded with excitement.
It wasn’t just because Sobbing Fist was a Heaven Tier Middle Grade Martial Technique with impressive power, but also because it came with an extremely useful special effect.
A sound-based Special Effect!
It could affect the mind!
In a battle between experts, the slightest influence could decide the outcome of the entire fight.
Imagine it: an opponent throws a punch at you. Just as you’re about to counter, a deafening, sorrowful cry suddenly rings in your ears, startling you. What do you think would happen?
You probably wouldn’t be able to react in time and would be killed by that one punch, right?
That’s why this Martial Technique was so incredible!
But...
Tang Yi glanced at the price displayed at the very bottom.
Requires 800 Battle God Points!!!
Battle God Points! That was practically robbery!
Tang Yi had worked so hard just to save up 120 Battle God Points. Even if he added the points he had already spent, the total amount of Battle God Value he had ever obtained didn’t even reach 200.
Wanting to buy this Sobbing Fist Martial Technique was simply a pipe dream.
The price was so scary that Tang Yi quickly backed out of the menu.
’Can’t afford it, so no point in looking.’
Since the Martial Techniques were sorted by price from lowest to highest, Tang Yi now opened the first one on the list. He wanted to see how many Battle God Points the cheapest Martial Technique in the Fist Skill category would cost.
He clicked on the first icon, named ’Ten Sounds Sky-Breaking Fist,’ and the interface for the Martial Technique popped up.
Name: Ten Sounds Sky-Breaking Fist
Grade: Earth Tier Lower Grade
Description: The user can throw ten punches at extreme speed. Each punch is accompanied by an explosive sound. Starting from the first punch, the power of each subsequent punch stacks, and by the tenth punch, the power output will be increased to double the original.
This Martial Technique described its power very clearly, unlike Sobbing Fist, which was vague and just said it was "incredibly powerful" and left it at that.
All in all, it was still pretty good, easily on par with the Martial Techniques Tang Yi currently possessed.
He hadn’t expected that in the System Store’s Fist Skill category, the lowest-level Fist Skill was an Earth Tier Lower Grade Martial Technique. This was truly astonishing.
After reading the description, Tang Yi looked down at its price.
But the price...
It actually cost 50 Battle God Points!
’So expensive!’
’An Earth Tier Lower Grade Martial Technique costs 50 Battle God Points? Why don’t they just rob people instead?’
’What a total rip-off!’
He quickly backed out again and continued to check the Martial Technique icons one by one.
It wasn’t just the Fist Skill Species; Tang Yi also looked through the Martial Techniques in categories like Swordsmanship, Saber Technique, and Palm Technique.
However, the starting price for all Martial Techniques was a minimum of 50 Battle God Points!
The most popular category, Sword Skill Species, had a starting price of a whopping 200 points! The lowest grade was Earth Tier Upper Grade, equivalent to the Sword Skill Species Martial Technique Tang Yi had already acquired, ’Celestial Heart Guidance’!
In other words, the lowest-tier Martial Technique in any given category in the System Store was comparable to the Martial Techniques Tang Yi currently possessed!
The Earth Tier Martial Techniques he owned now—the very same ones that would shock any outsider—were nothing more than low-end goods in the System Store. And the absolute lowest end at that!!
This almost made Tang Yi roll his eyes. He had been so proud of obtaining so many Earth Tier Martial Techniques, which were far above the average level outside. But it turned out they were just the lowest tier in the Battle God System.
It was like playing an online game where all these Martial Techniques were equivalent to a starter set.
After this realization, Tang Yi almost wanted to cry.
And after checking the Martial Techniques one by one, Tang Yi also discovered a pattern in the pricing.
The prices of all Martial Techniques were determined by their grade.
Regardless of their actual power, all Earth Tier Lower Grade Martial Techniques were 50 Battle God Points.
Earth Tier Middle Grade, 100 Battle God Points.
Earth Tier Upper Grade, 200 Battle God Points.
Heaven Tier Lower Grade, 400 Battle God Points.
Heaven Tier Middle Grade, 800 Battle God Points.
Heaven Tier Upper Grade, 1600 Battle God Points.
They increased by a factor of two each time!
To think Tang Yi had previously considered his 120 Battle God Points a huge sum. After seeing the prices of these Martial Techniques, he now knew that amount was just a drop in the bucket.
The highest Tang Yi could view were Heaven Tier Upper Grade Martial Techniques. As for what level of Martial Technique came after that, he had no idea, because the subsequent icons were grayed out, and he couldn’t click on them.
But even if he could see them, he didn’t want to look anymore. They were just too expensive.
’The System Store is such a rip-off!’
Grumbling to himself, Tang Yi closed the Martial Arts Slot interface and opened the Pill interface.
In the Pill section, the Small Golden Wound Medicine that Tang Yi had acquired before was the cheapest item in the Pill category, priced at 100 Battle God Points each.
Super expensive!
Above the Small Golden Wound Medicine was the Medium-sized Golden Wound Medicine, at 200 Battle God Points each. Its effect was to restore forty percent of a Player’s Life Value within 3 seconds of use.
Its effect was a significant improvement over the Small Golden Wound Medicine. Not only did it reduce the recovery time by 2 seconds, but it also increased the amount restored by ten percent.
This meant that in the future, if Tang Yi was severely injured in a fight, he could take a single Medium-sized Golden Wound Medicine and recover to a half-health state!
And above that was the Large Golden Wound Medicine, at 400 Battle God Points each. Its effect was to restore fifty percent of a Player’s Life Value within 3 seconds.
It was another improvement over the Medium-sized Golden Wound Medicine, but regardless of whether it was the Small or Large Golden Wound Medicine, the prices were too high for Tang Yi to even consider.
Thankfully, the Small Golden Wound Medicine he had on him was a drop from a previous battle; otherwise, he really wouldn’t have been willing to buy such an expensive Pill.
In the Pill section, besides super-useful Pills like the Golden Wound Medicine, there were many other Pills with amazing effects, such as the Nine Revolutions Soul Rejuvenation Pill, which could bring someone back from the dead.
For instance, the Agility Potion, which, after being consumed, could increase a Player’s Speed for a certain period of time.
Or the Currentflow Pill, which allowed one to swim freely in the ocean for a period of time, unaffected by pressure or the lack of oxygen.
However, the prices for these Pills were far, far too expensive. Although they were appropriate for Tang Yi’s Level, their cost was simply beyond what he could afford at his current stage.
