The next day, Choi Cheonho stared in disbelief at the top headline.
[Doan Group Moves to Acquire Domestic Pro Baseball Team... Motivation Is Granddaughter’s Love of the Sport?]
“...What really draws attention is the analysis that the chairman’s granddaughter has an exceptional passion for baseball. Ha!”
Reading the article aloud, Choi snorted.
No matter how cute the kid was, buying a team?
Perhaps anticipating backlash from existing fans, the statement even included a promise not to spare any expense on investment.
As a result, the comments section was overflowing with sports fans begging Guru to come watch their games.

Guru-yaᅲᅲᅲ Don’t you like volleyball...?
Let’s get you into basketball from now on, Guru.
GuruGuru... I’ll be waiting for you at the soccer stadium...
Choi twisted his mouth into a sneer as he read the replies calling for Guru.
'At most it’ll be a one-off display, won’t it?'
He wasn’t normally that type, but an old man could act rashly in a fit of emotion.
Or maybe buying the team was a way of signaling, I’m still healthy, I don’t flinch at rumors.
Either way, soon the anger stirred by his granddaughter would subside, and Choi intended to approach On Suhyeong again then.
But days passed and Choi couldn’t go see him.
Because On Suhyeong’s eccentric spree didn’t end there.

Choi was speechless.
Just how many Children’s Day presents was he going to give?

@grandpa_osh If we’re going back and forth to Jeju, we’ll need a private jet, won’t we?

'Totally insane.'
Checking On Suhyeong’s Instagram, Choi’s jaw dropped.
Using mana stones meant it would cost several times more than a normal jet.
Just how far was he planning to flaunt his love for his granddaughter?
Lately, with his new account, On Suhyeong had been flaunting his love in the form of money, drawing daily buzz.
Everyone wanted to see what so-called money-crazy stunt he’d pull next.
As a result, Doan’s tumbling stock stopped falling and began to climb again.
The moment Choi saw this, he froze.
'Don’t tell me... all this was the plan?'
By simply acting like a doting grandfather, he’d stabilized the stock. Without even revealing On Ijo, he’d resolved the crisis.
A giant was a giant, after all.
'Things may not be so easy from here on.'
Choi sternly warned his aides never to get on the wrong side of the On family.
Doan Group’s acquisition of the baseball team was finalized swiftly with On Suhyeong’s bold decision.
While the league office reviewed the acquisition conditions and management plan—
On Suhyeong and On Guru appeared at the stadium in person. Alongside them were companions sporting team caps and scarves.
In the same VIP box, Jang Donghyeok watched Guru with folded arms.
A tiny, adorable child beamed as she waved a flag with the team’s logo.
'What’s so great about that that she’s making such a fuss?'
Did she even know the rules?
Thinking so, Jang angled his phone for a selfie with Guru in the background and posted it on Instagram.
He got dozens of times more hearts than usual.
He’d deliberately caught her in the shot, but somehow it left him irritated.

ajdklf_29 You can see Guru in the backᄏᄏ
dong__hk Didn’t know she was thereᄒᄒ
minjji05829 How can anything be this cute??
2young_u Whoa, you saw Guru? Are they really buying the team?
dong__hk Who knowsᄏ Do they even have that kind of money?
When he scoffed back, someone replied, “Of course they doᄏᄏ It’s Doan.”
Right, they did. It was Doan, after all.
Because Doan’s precious jewel that On Suhyeong adored wanted it, he’d even buy a team.
Meanwhile, fuck. He himself was scrambling for a bigger inheritance, trying to curry favor with a senile old man.
He glanced again at the child gnawing from a popcorn bucket bigger than her torso.
Irritation surged.
On Suhyeong had stepped out somewhere, and the child was absorbed in watching the game with the group.
Tsk.
What a life. He was the youngest of three sons and a daughter, bleeding in the battle for control.
And that little brat had swallowed up Doan with nothing but a pretty face. His gut twisted.
With the alcohol warming his blood, courage welled as soon as he saw Suhyeong was gone. He beckoned to the child.
“Hey, kid. Come here.”
“Yesh?”
“That popcorn looks good.”
“Wanna twy?”
“Yeah. Give Oppa a piece.”
“Hewe.”
Guru scooped a tiny handful in her little palm and held it out.
Jang Donghyeok smirked.
Then—slap!—he smacked her hand.
Thud-thud-thud.
The popcorn scattered to the floor.
“Hey, you think this is fit to eat?”
“Disgusting, really.”
He pulled a handkerchief from his breast pocket and wiped his hand as if filth had touched it.
Guru blinked, her face shrinking in on itself. Jang rose over her menacingly.
“How does Doan raise its kids? No sense of basic hygiene at all. Is it because you’ve got no roots?”
Watching her flustered helplessness tickled a low delight in his belly.
“Hey, Jang Donghyeok, what the hell are you doing?”
“Cut it out already, man.”
His companions tried to rein him in, but Jang ignored them.
“Well, what do you expect, picking up what was thrown away—”
Smack!
Jang’s head snapped sideways.
A man in a cap and scarf stood before him.
“What the....”
Shielding Guru behind his back so she wouldn’t see, the man raised his hand again.
Smack!
Jang reached out to retaliate, but the man blocked him and slapped him once more.
“Do you know who I am?!”
“Do you know who I am?”
Smack!!
“Who the hell are you?!”
“This child’s father.”
