And the one with the bird perched on his head seemed to be that boy’s friend, another child of the same age.

Mephisto, circling the gate, was drenched in cold sweat.
That boy had definitely been searching for Dominic.
He had only deflected something the boy had sent his way, never imagining this outcome.
Whimpering, Mephisto clamped down on Yurian’s scruff and hauled him up. Whatever the case, this was completely his responsibility.
Fortunately—or unfortunately—Yurian didn’t yet seem to realize what had happened to him.
'Okay, if I can just get him to Guru and reverse this somehow...!'
Just then, Veilach, following after, asked casually,
