I have an Apocalypse City
Chapter 1287: Chapter 1289: Intimacy
Song Jian followed Black Dragon, leaving the vast cave and flying towards the depths of the Dragon Bone Wasteland.
Along the way, Song Jian saw a number of soul state monsters wandering around some huge skeletons on the ground. These monsters were all above level eighty common monsters, which would make a good leveling ground for ordinary players who reached level eighty.
These monsters gathered in small groups around certain skeletons and did not appear in large swarms, so a pair of players could deal with them. If one could have some equipment that restrained ghost-type classes, even a single person could enjoy farming here.
At that moment, Song Jian suddenly saw a figure behind a skeleton, who teleported directly to the shadow of another pile of bones some seven or eight meters away from him.
"Is this...a player?" Song Jian stood on his flying sword, looking at the figure on the ground with some surprise. Clearly, the other party had not noticed Song Jian and was carefully searching every inch of ground around the skeleton while avoiding the nearby translucent soul monsters.
After observing for a while, Song Jian slightly smiled and thought, "It seems to be a Treasure Hunter, venturing into a high-level monster area that hasn’t been explored by players yet..."
There were many players like this in the game, utilizing their professional skills to venture into high-level monster areas to search for wild materials. Although dangerous, it often yielded substantial rewards.
In high-level monster areas where players haven’t set foot, there were abundant resources such as ores and herbs, and with some luck, one might even come across some wild treasure chests. These players would also record the locations of the BOSSes they encountered, make maps, and then sell them to others once they were strong enough to enter the area, earning a hefty profit.
These players were generally agile professionals, possessing at least one or two stealth abilities and skills to lower their presence to avoid drawing the attention of monsters.
Song Jian looked closely at the player and realized this player was only level fifty-eight. In the Dragon Bone Wasteland, any ordinary monster would likely be too much for him to handle.
At that time, the player seemed to have found something and was carefully digging behind a large skeleton.
"To be able to dodge the Dragon Soul Guards and enter here, this guy does have some skills!" Song Jian thought to himself.
After watching for a moment, Song Jian did not pay much attention and continued to follow Black Dragon deeper into the Dragon Bone Wasteland.
At that moment, Tang Li, who was digging up a piece of Dragonbone Grass on the ground, looked up at the sky, feeling as if someone was watching him.
"This is the Dragon Bone Wasteland, a level eighty monster area. How could there be someone else here besides me?" Tang Li looked around carefully, but apart from a few ghost-type monsters, he found nothing else.
Glancing at the worn pocket watch hanging around his neck, Tang Li shook his head. He had less than half an hour left in the Dragon Bone Wasteland. If he stayed longer, the probability of being discovered by the surrounding monsters would greatly increase, and he had to take advantage of the remaining time to leave the Dragon Bone Wasteland.
Looking at his inventory, Tang Li’s face revealed a smile. In less than two hours, he had gathered three Dragonbone Grasses and two skeletal ores. These were high-quality materials that could sell for a good price.
Just then, Tang Li suddenly noticed the ground under the shadow of a pile of bones not far away begin to stir, as if something was burrowing up from underground.
Before long, a skeleton whose body was as white and pristine as jade crawled out from underground. It twisted its head, producing a "click-clack" sound of bones rubbing together. After looking around, it picked up a worn bone knife and staggered southwestward.
Tang Li’s eyes revealed a puzzled look. He had been adventuring in the Dragon Bone Wasteland for over half a month and had never seen a monster like these Skeleton Soldiers. It was well known that only ghostly creatures roam the Dragon Bone Wasteland—skeleton-like monsters simply should not exist here since there was no Force of Death for them to thrive on.
Now that Tang Li had suddenly discovered a Skeleton Soldier, his sharp instincts as a Shadow Hunter told him this matter was definitely not simple.
Glancing at the time on his pocket watch and then looking up at the Skeleton Soldier about to disappear from his field of view, Tang Li gritted his teeth and started using Shadow Shuffle, closely following the Skeleton Soldier.
...
Song Jian followed the Black Dragon to a series of rolling hills that looked even more desolate; not even a stretch of greenery could be seen, just withered weeds and hillocks three to five meters tall. Even small animals such as foxes would occasionally appear among these hills.
The Black Dragon descended from the sky, transforming into the black-haired girl she had been before, lifting her head with her little nose twitching as if sniffing out some scent.
The Black Dragon blindly advanced, eyes half-closed, relying entirely on her sense of smell, paying no mind to Song Jian behind her.
Watching the girl ahead running swiftly with her head held high, guided by her nose, Song Jian couldn’t help but chuckle, feeling as though he was following a hunting dog chasing after its prey.
At that moment, the Black Dragon Kamata suddenly stopped, turned her head, and stared at Song Jian with her dark golden vertical pupils emitting a dangerous look.
Song Jian paused, a drop of cold sweat trickling down, "Could this guy actually hear what I was thinking?"
Just as Song Jian began to feel uneasy, the Black Dragon Kamata snorted coldly, rolled her eyes at Song Jian, and continued running forward, head held high and nostrils flaring.
Song Jian opened the battle pet interface to check Black Dragon’s attributes after her advancement, but found the interface was blurred, as if a layer of mist was blocking it.
Across the mists of the interface, there were small words: "Intimacy level is 45. When intimacy reaches 60, the battle pet’s attribute interface will be displayed!"
"Hiss, how did the intimacy level drop so low, wasn’t it over eighty before?" Song Jian couldn’t help but gasp. He knew that if a battle pet’s intimacy level falls below thirty, it could betray him at any moment. For some reason, his intimacy with the Black Dragon had plummeted to forty-five, which wasn’t far from thirty. He had to be careful.
With that in mind, Song Jian took out a jug of Jade Liquid Wine, offering it to the Black Dragon with a smile, "Tired from running? Take a break and have a drink to rest."
As he spoke, Song Jian uncorked the jug, and immediately, a rich fragrance of wine wafted out.
