System: For building a level 3 safety house, you will need 6000 units of wood and 6000 units of stone. Do you desire to pursue the build?
Build it!
Rumble-
The phantom image of the three-story villa immediately rose five to six meters, exceeding a total height of over ten meters, looking like a castle;
However, there was nothing in this castle, so it seemed a bit empty;
After the level 3 safety house was completed, all spectators were left dumbfounded. The most they could hold inside their inventory were a few thousand units of wood and stone. It’s too difficult to create a level 3 safety house, let alone using a bungalow as a template for a safety house.
“He’s definitely spend money to win, it’s confirmed, this guy is absolutely pay-to-win!”
“Is this what it feels like to play someone else’s game? Why do I feel like I am not playing the same game as him!”
“The world is so unfair, 1 work day and night chopping wood until I have a one inch thick callus on my hands. Why can’t I even match a fraction of his resources!”
“Dude, are you sure the callus on your hand is from chopping wood and not from doing something else?”
“Could it be that this guy is the illegitimate son of the game’s developer?”
Upon opening the construction list for the level 3 safety house, Song Jian can now upgrade the eight fields in the yard to Spirit Fields. For a single Spirit Field upgrade, you only need one thousand units of wood which for Song Jian was a drop in the bucket;
Swish, Swish, Swish-
Eight fields simultaneously emit an opalescent halo, the fresh air permeates the courtyard. One whiff gives off a refreshing and unburdening sensation, as though it can intoxicate your soul;
“Is this spiritual energy? It feels so nice!” Song Jian’s face filled with pleasure;
“Let me see what else can be built, Arrow Tower, a level 3 safety house can build an Arrow Tower? Haha, this is a defensive godsend!” Song Jian instantly lit up upon realizing that he could build four Arrow Towers at the four corners of the walls;
The construction cost for an Arrow Tower is 1200 units of wood and 500 units of stone. A small cost for a tower that can auto-attack. Each tower can store a thousand wooden arrows. Once depleted, simply add wood into the tower and it’ll immediately start making wooden arrows again. Very convenient;
Soon, four Arrow Towers were constructed. Along with the Wooden Spike Trap and Falling Rock Trap on top of the four towers, Song Jian’s safety house could be described as an iron fortress of defenses;
“Not bad, not bad, now the safety house is finally starting to take shape.” Song Jian nodded in satisfaction.
Seeing the two Spirit Fields in front of his villa, Song Jian thought for a moment, then decided to plant the Tree Spirit sapling on them.
One Tree Spirit sapling needs two fields’ worth of room. The remaining six fields were left empty, waiting for suitable seeds to be planted;
Upon entering the Spirit Field, the Tree Spirit seed grew rapidly. In a short time, it sprouted from the ground and become a nearly one foot tall sapling;
System: Tree Spirit sapling has been successfully planted. It will take thirty seven days and eighteen hours to grow into its mature form. You can use various treasures to nourish the sapling and shorten its growth time;
“It still needs such a long time to mature, then 1 can’t use it during the upcoming defense battle.” Song Jian was slightly disappointed. Regarding the use of treasures, Song Jian expressed that he himself doesn’t even have enough to use, much less sparing for them!
The overall defense of the current safety house has already reached 3200 points. It was several tens of times higher than the first player who built a safety house;
“Now, I’m here extremely well-defended. I should be able to resist monsters attacking within a radius of one kilometer, right?” Song Jian was full of pride, excitedly looking towards the dense swarm of monsters outside the green columns of light;
“These are all my experience points. This time, I should be able to level up to at least level eight. No, level nine! Even level ten might be possible considering the density of the monsters within a kilometer! Haha!” Song Jian looked at the monsters, as though he was looking at a package full of experience points and equipment;
After the level 3 safety house was completed, the system prompted whether to construct a level 1 manor;
System: Level 1 manor construction requires 8000 units of wood and 16,000 units of stone, do you wish to continue the construction?
Song Jian looked at his inventory, which still held an abundant amount of wood and stone materials. He hesitated for a moment, then grit his teeth and chose to continue construction;
Proceed!
Rumble-
Another bout of rumbling. From the outside, the area of the green light column did not increase, but within it, Song Jian saw his villa, or rather, now it should be called the castle, visibly swell and expand. Though it’s still three stories high, the total height had exceeded fifteen meters. Two side towers, seven to eight meters high, appeared on either sides of the main castle. Both towers were closely connected to the main castle. On top of each tower flew a flag, but there were no patterns on these flags;
The roof of the main castle transitioned from its initial “people” shaped villa roof to a conical tower-shaped roof. A large flag floated above the roof;
“This manor is practically identical to a medieval castle, absolutely splendid, haha!” Song Jian excitedly said.
He didn’t even own a two bedroom apartment in the real world, but in this game, he owned a castle. This gave Song Jian a fantastical feeling;
However, in the next moment, the system brutally shattered his fantasy with news that felt like a bucket of ice water poured over him;
System: Level 1 Manor construction completed!
System: With the appearance of the manor, it attracted the attention of numerous monsters and even bosses beyond the one kilometer range. They gained a keen interest in the manor. Elite bosses will randomly join the monster’s siege. The higher the manor level, the higher the joining elite boss level, and the larger the quantity;
System: Do you wish to continue constructing the level 2 manor?
“Holy cow, it even has elite bosses joining randomly?” Song Jian was stunned. It’s known that the first player to build a safety house had a few level five elite bosses appear, resulting in his safety house being shattered in only ten minutes;
“System, are you kidding me? Previously, creating a safety house would only bring in elite bosses and now, it even attracted bosses outside the one kilometer range – what level are they going to be? If a level thirty boss comes, how am I supposed to continue playing?”
System: Do you wish to continue constructing the level 2 manor?
Once again, the system issued a prompt. Song Jian, looking at the tens of thousands of wood and stone units in his inventory, felt like weeping;
“Built? You bloody build it! Cancel, I’m not building anymore!”
Song Jian said through gritted teeth;
“Open the defensive structures that can be built by a level 1 manor, quick!”
Song Jian knew that he didn’t have much time left. His initial sure-win mainline quest had been thrown back into uncertainty due to his relentless upgrading of the safety house level;
Now, Song Jian could only do his utmost to improve the manor’s defense measures;
