I have an Apocalypse City
Chapter 895: Chapter 896 Sky City_1
Seeing the BOSS charging toward him, Song Jian turned around and slashed at it with his sword, dealing over seventy thousand damage to its Vitality Points instantly with the Thousand Swords Art;
The thirty-two hundred thousand Vitality Points, which seemed like a mountain to other players, would take a forty-person team more than five minutes to wear down, and that’s only if the BOSS didn’t unleash its full power and the melee professions were able to hold on.
But like the earlier wide-ranging vigor tornado, it was almost equivalent to an attack that hit everything on the screen, and ordinary cloth-wearing classes simply couldn’t withstand that strong suction power.
The City of Hope’s Elite Team had wiped out seven or eight times in front of the first BOSS while trying to clear the Abyss Phantom on hard difficulty, before they completely figured out all its characteristics.
It was also fortunate that each person had a dungeon escape scroll, for they directly left the dungeon at the last moment; otherwise, just this BOSS alone would have wiped the City of Hope’s Elite Team several times over;
The BOSS moved extremely fast, and though the Thousand Swords Art was fiercely powerful, it did not have any skills that restricted movement, allowing Sigurd to withstand the bombardment of the Spirit Swords and stride toward Song Jian with large steps;
Sigurd, appearing huge and bulky like a strength-type BOSS, did not move slowly either, catching up to Song Jian in just a few steps and smashing down at him with a combat axe in his hand;
Song Jian swung the Sky-breaking Sword to block, and with a “clang,” a sharp pain shot through his wrist, and a surge of great force almost knocked the sword out of his hand;
Although Song Jian’s primary attribute changed after advancing to Sword Master, his strength attribute was hardly inferior to other melee classes, and even surpassed most of them.
Song Jian’s strength now reached one hundred thirty-six points, practically overpowering more than half of the melee classes, but in front of Sigurd, it was as if he had no power to fight back;
“This guy’s strength attribute must be at least over two hundred points!” Song Jian’s heart sank. At the thought, his figure became transparent, he passed directly through Sigurd’s body, and dashed toward the other side of the square;
Having a strength of two hundred points meant that even bare-handed, Sigurd could deal at least two hundred points of damage. Although Song Jian had mitigated some of the force from the previous block, he still received over five hundred points of damage;
Once Soul Wander was cast, Song Jian would be invincible for the first four seconds and could pass through any obstruction without collision. Furthermore, his movement speed increased by 200%, and he became immune to all damage except for soul-type damage;
This skill not only combined acceleration with invincibility but also had a long duration of nine seconds, giving Song Jian enough time to unleash Sword Shadow Clone and Thousand Swords Art once more;
No matter how fast the BOSS was, it wasn’t quicker than Song Jian after he had used the Acceleration Skill. Moreover, after casting Soul Wander and becoming a soul state, he had some concealment effect, which made it much more challenging for the BOSS to catch up to him;
By the time Soul Wander ended, Song Jian cast Sword Shadow Clone again, and two Song Jians, one to the left and one to the right, ran off in opposite directions;
This time, the BOSS chose to pursue the clone, which allowed Song Jian to breathe a sigh of relief. It seemed that the correct choice last time was just good luck for the BOSS and not some ability to see through clones.
Seeing the BOSS chasing after the clone, Song Jian launched Thousand Swords Art at its back, and a dozen more Spirit Swords struck the BOSS, causing its thirty-two hundred thousand Vitality Points to plummet to below one hundred thousand. The BOSS became somewhat frantic, turning around and rushing back at Song Jian’s real body;
As the BOSS approached Song Jian and was about to attack him with the battle axe, the clone behind released Thousand Swords Art again. This time, the clone dealt even less damage to the BOSS, only over two thousand points, but it was enough to grab the BOSS’s attention. The BOSS stopped and turned to rush toward the Sword Shadow Clone;
The Sword Shadow Clone began casting the Sword Control Skill, striving to dodge the attacks of the BOSS. After keeping up for another five or six seconds, it was shattered by a black energy slash from the BOSS, and by that time, Song Jian’s Thousand Swords Art was off cooldown.
And so, the first BOSS of the Abyss Phantom fell before Song Jian in less than three minutes, a feat that previously took other players from the City of Hope over half an hour to accomplish when they challenged this BOSS;
BOSSes within the Abyss Phantom dungeon were much tougher to defeat than the wild BOSSes, naturally, since it was a difficult-level dungeon, but their loot drop rate was significantly more surprising than that of the wild BOSSes;
After the death of Sigurd, just from the Dark Gold quality gear alone, two pieces had fallen, both of which were level forty Dark Gold quality gear.
Three Skill Books dropped, two of Silver Quality for axe warriors and one of Gold Quality for assassins, all of which were valuable items indeed.
Song Jian chose to devour them directly, slightly increasing the proficiency of his level-five Thousand Swords Art. The higher the level, the more high-quality Skill Books needed to be consumed, and the three Skill Books failed to increase even one-tenth of the proficiency. However, if sold, they would fetch at least several hundred thousand Doomsday Coins.
In addition to this loot, the BOSS also dropped three Magma Crystal Cores, all of which Song Jian fed to his Earth Elemental Gulu, raising its level to forty-two;
At this moment, Gulu’s body was beginning to show granite patterns, indicating that it wouldn’t be long before it could evolve into a Stone Elemental BOSS.
After gathering the loot from the BOSS, Song Jian continued toward the location of the second BOSS;
As Song Jian was clearing the Abyss Phantom dungeon, Wang Qi suddenly received a message. About twenty kilometers to the southwest of Doomsday City, an elusive Cloud City had appeared in the sky, shimmering in and out of sight like a mirage.
“Xiao Yong, the place you were born, is it called Cloud City?” Wang Qi turned off the communication channel and turned to ask a chubby baby angel that was busily munching on a fruit;
This angel was the one hatched from the Angel Egg that Song Jian had given to him. Unfortunately, the freshly hatched angel had no combat ability and needed to be raised to level ten before it could assist in battle;
The one solace for Wang Qi was that this Battle Angel could be trained in a specific direction. At level ten, the angel’s development path could be chosen, whether it be a close-ranged physical vocation, a ranged physical vocation, or a Mage profession.
Wang Qi hadn’t made his final decision yet, so he was not in a hurry to level it up to ten;
“I was born in Sky City, but many also like to call it Cloud City. In fact, Sky City and Cloud City are two different places. Sky City is similar to the City of Hope, while Cloud City is simply an iconic building within Sky City! That place is specifically for training Battle Angels!” Xiao Yong said to Wang Qi after finishing an apple;
“Sky City? Are there many Sky Cities in this world?” Wang Qi curiously asked;
“There shouldn’t be many left!” The angel furrowed his brows and said, “My memory is somewhat fragmented. Generally, when a Sky City appears out of nowhere, it’s usually an abandoned city, and it’s quite dangerous inside.”
