I have an Apocalypse City
Chapter 800: Chapter 801: Resurrection Item_1
After Song Jian absorbed the Abyssal Demon Flame from the Cerberus Demon Temple, that sensation of being overwhelmingly suppressed resurfaced. It was exactly like the feeling he had when he acquired the Sixth Demon King’s fang from the Wolf Spider Demon Temple and was targeted by the Wolf Spider Demon Ritualist.
At this moment, a giant breach had appeared on the walls of the Flame Furnace’s main city, with countless Abyss Demons swarming to break through this gap. However, they were all thwarted by a group of heavily-armored warriors wielding large shields;
These were all Abyss Shield Strikers trained by the main city of the Flame Furnace itself, with some other professionals capable of wielding two-handed shields joining in. Everyone understood that once these Abyss Demons broke into the city, it would be completely destroyed;
But everyone inside the main city knew that the city’s fall was only a matter of time. The Abyss Demon army numbered over ten thousand, and if they were ordinary monsters, they wouldn’t be able to breach the city. But now, over ten thousand elite bosses had arrived, and there were even several level fifty lord bosses looking on greedily.
The main city’s Transmission Array had been shut down, and some NPCs and players began to use their own methods to leave the main city one after another. They certainly did not wish to share the city’s fate.
Katie’s mood also turned somber. She hadn’t expected that these monsters really had the strength to break through the Flame Furnace. The thought of the main city being utterly demolished made Katie feel panic and at a loss. She wanted to negotiate with Song Jian for assistance, also for the sake of developing the Thorny Bird Alliance. But if the main city were breached, then her so-called alliance development would become a joke;
...
Standing on the city walls, Katie gazed toward Demon Slayer Canyon, silently praying in her heart;
The stalemate was about to be broken, and a shadow of despair fell over the hearts of those defending the city. At that moment, all the Cerberus Demons on the battlefield suddenly halted their steps, letting out a furious roar;
“Damn humans!” The Cerberus Demon Ritualist, Guyar, stomped a front paw heavily onto the ground, causing the surrounding earth to shake violently, almost like an earthquake.
“Guyar, what’s gotten into you?” The Goat-faced Demon Ritualist, stationed closest to Guyar, steadied himself before bellowing furiously at the Cerberus Demon Ritualist;
“That human, that human is no longer in this city, he’s returned to the Guardian Temple, and he has stolen the Fourth Demon Lord’s resurrection artifact!” All three of the Cerberus Demon Ritualist’s heads roared loudly at the same time, raging furiously, nearly going mad.
“What, how is that possible? We have completely surrounded this city; how could he have gotten out?” The ritualists were shocked, knowing that the temples they guarded were very close to each other.
“Retreat, I must return and tear this human to pieces!” The Cerberus Demon Ritualist roared loudly, and with that command, all the Cerberus Demons withdrew from the battlefield and began to retreat, following Guyar towards Demon Slayer Canyon;
“What’s this all about? We’re about to break through this city, you know. A whole city’s worth of wealth, and we’re just giving up?” muttered the Flame Demon Lord under his breath.
Just then, the Goat-faced Demon Ritualist also let out a roaring, and without a second word, waved his huge hand giving his commands to the attacking Goat-faced Demons, leading them in a hurried dash towards Demon Slayer Canyon.
The other ritualists looked at one another, glanced up at the shaky Flame Furnace, and reluctantly issued orders to retreat, rushing off towards Demon Slayer Canyon;
Their mission was to protect the resurrection artifacts of the Demon Lords, collect beliefs, and wait for the day of the Demon Lords’ revival. If the resurrection artifacts were stolen, then even if they destroyed ten main cities and gained the wealth of a hundred main cities, it would be meaningless to them.
“Damn humans, they are too cunning. If only we could wait for one more hour, no, half an hour, we could have...” The Great Demon Priest cast a regretful look back at the huge breach in the walls of the Flame Furnace city.
At this moment, Song Jian had already emerged from the second Demon God Temple and was rushing towards the next one.
“We need to speed up, it won’t be long before those Abyss Demons might come back!” Song Jian said as he hurriedly made his way towards the adjacent temple;
There were five more temples, thankfully these temples were not far from each other, and Demon Slayer Canyon was at some distance from the Flame Furnace. If the Abyss Demons were still attacking the city at this point, even if they received the message now, there should be enough time to make it here;
With this in mind, Song Jian, accompanied by the significantly strengthened angel Kekaul, continued to rush towards the next temple. In just half an hour, Song Jian had traversed the five temples, gathering all the resurrection items of the five Abyss Demon Kings, while the remaining five Abyssal Demon Flames were all absorbed by the Book of the Abyss;
The Book of the Abyss’s surface shimmered with flowing light, and a strange eye appeared on its cover. When Song Jian looked at it, he even felt as if the eye were alive.
At this point, the Book of the Abyss also entered a sealed state, rendered unusable. Checking the sealing time, it would take a full seven days to unseal, which meant that all the skills contained within the Book of the Abyss were now inaccessible.
“Demi-God Artifact...” Song Jian looked at the Book of the Abyss burning with black flames inside him and his heart suddenly became ablaze with excitement;
As for another mission, to collect the resurrection artifacts of seven Demon Lords, and then sever the “Sword Immortal Severed Blade,” Song Jian temporarily lost his train of thought. He had already collected all seven resurrection artifacts of the Demon Lords: the heart of the First Demon King, a horn segment of the Second Demon King, the purple-red scales of the Third Demon King, the eyeball of the Fourth Demon King, the tail of the Fifth Demon King, the fangs of the Sixth Demon King, and a black feather of the Seventh Demon King;
The seven resurrection artifacts lay quietly in Song Jian’s inventory, their surfaces emanating a thick black aura.
“What should I do next?” Song Jian frowned deeply. What he lacked most now was time. The Abyssal Demon Sacrifices would have certainly received the alert by now and were frantically rushing this way. Any further delay meant that once those Demon Ritualists returned, they would be trapped in the Demon Guardian Temple, even with the formidable power of the angel Kekaul.
“Song Jian, is it possible that there might be a clue for the next step of your mission in the central temple?” the angel Kekaul suddenly said.
“The central temple?” Song Jian was startled. It was known that the Demon Guardian Temple was actually a complex, with seven temples surrounding and protecting an even larger temple.
The other seven temples were each controlled by one of the seven Great Demon Priests, but Song Jian had never been inside the central and larger temple;
However, compared to the other temples, the central one was more severely damaged. With time pressing, if there were no clues inside, it would mean a total waste of time;
After hesitating for a moment, Song Jian gritted his teeth and said, “Let’s go have a look at the central temple!”
Having said that, the two of them flew towards the central temple;
...
