I have an Apocalypse City
Chapter 1109: Chapter 1111: The Plot Begins_1
Although there were only three elite Insect Soldiers, their momentum as they pounced towards Song Jian was like a cavalry charge towards the enemy, unstoppable.
Song Jian knew that these Insect Soldiers had no long-range attack capabilities and could only engage in close combat, so before they got close, he simply waved his right hand and the Sky-breaking Sword flew out of his grip, slashing towards the three elite Insect Soldiers.
Hisss Hisss Hisss~
The Sky-breaking Sword easily penetrated the shells of the elite Insect Soldiers, which were almost as hard as steel, but in front of the Sky-breaking Sword, they were like hard paper, their defenses easily torn apart.
The Insect Soldiers’ impact was incredibly swift, causing even the hard rocky ground to tremble slightly, with marks carved across its surface. Within a few seconds, the Insect Soldiers had charged out several tens of meters, then, swinging their forelimbs, which were sharper than swords, they chopped down at Song Jian.
Song Jian called with his right hand, and the Sky-breaking Sword pierced through the body of one Insect Soldier, bringing back a puff of fresh blood, flying back to Song Jian’s hand. He swung it in a motion, blocking the strike from the Insect Soldier, then stabbed again with a backhand, followed by a flick of the blade, his body spinning to dodge to the left side of the Insect Soldiers, evading their sharp charge.
The three Insect Soldiers screeched and surrounded Song Jian, constantly attacking, while Song Jian parried with his sword, dodging left and right. For a while, he clashed closely with the three Insect Soldiers.
Although he had advanced to a Sword Master and his mode of attack had changed from close combat to ranged, Song Jian’s close combat strength was not weak. Whether it was his strength attribute or his agility attribute, both were slightly higher than those of the elite BOSS around level sixty-five. Though he couldn’t overpower them, whether it was in a strong attack or evasion, he was not panicked at all under the siege of the three elite Insect Soldiers.
Clang Clang Clang~
The Moon Essence Wheel continued to attack as well. It didn’t need Song Jian’s control to automatically launch attacks on enemies that entered its range, and the Insect Soldiers, with all their attention attracted by Song Jian, didn’t consider the Moon Essence Wheel a threat at all.
Whoosh!
With a light sound, the Moon Essence Wheel triggered an afterimage, instantly creating two translucent wheel shadows that flew towards two Insect Soldiers. The continuous slicing sound was accompanied by a series of sparks emerging from the Insect Soldiers’ shells, causing them substantial damage.
Mysterious Moonlight Sword!
Song Jian’s figure turned into a streak of white light as he dodged an attack from one of the Insect Soldiers, instantly appearing in front of another. He thrust his long sword fiercely into the chest of the Insect Soldier, and immediately, its movements stiffened, the forelimb it had raised high also stopping mid-air.
At that moment, the Moon Essence Wheel drew an afterimage in the air and flew towards the Insect Soldier Song Jian had attacked. The Insect Soldier, hanging in the air, had no power to resist and could only watch helplessly as the Moon Essence Wheel circled around its body, slicing continuously. In an instant, the damage caused by the Moon Essence Wheel was even greater than the Mysterious Moonlight Sword skill inflicted by Song Jian, severely wounding the Insect Soldier.
"Squeak~" The intense pain caused the elite Insect Soldier to let out a sharp scream. It raised its foreclaws high, and even with its last breath, it wanted to attack Song Jian. But at that moment, Song Jian, bracing against the attacks of the two other Insect Soldiers behind him, spun the Sky-breaking Sword in the air. A spray of fresh blood shot out, and the severely wounded Insect Soldier’s head soared into the air. The raised foreclaws trembled weakly twice before its body thunderously fell to the ground.
After killing one elite Insect Soldier, Song Jian turned around, swinging his sword and slashing at the remaining two. Three minutes later, Song Jian stood before the bodies of the three Insect Soldiers, covered in blood, breathing slightly rapidly.
A droplet of the Insect Soldiers’ purplish-red blood stained his cheek, making Song Jian look somewhat ferocious.
Three level sixty-five elite bosses had only dropped two blue items and one piece of green equipment, which left Song Jian feeling somewhat disappointed.
After picking up the spoils of war, Song Jian’s gaze turned toward the remaining elite Insect Soldiers, "There are still two hundred and eighty-seven..."
...
As Song Jian methodically hunted down the elite Insect Soldiers, a thunderous noise suddenly resounded within the game world. A black lightning bolt appeared in the sky, spanning from east to west like a celestial river, tearing the entire sky in half.
Such an anomaly caused all players within the game to feel fearful, each one craning their necks to look up at the sky, fixating on the black lightning that seemed to linger indefinably.
With the electric light flickering, the black lightning was like a rift remaining in the sky for a long time. At that moment, numerous black pyramids of varying sizes on the ground began to emit black light. These lights seemed to be responding to the black lightning in the sky, growing increasingly intense, almost solidifying, before shooting up toward the sky with a whoosh in a straight line;
Thick and thin black beams of light began to appear on the ground, spreading towards the sky, eventually connecting with the black lightning above. In an instant, the whole earth trembled slightly, and a wave of dread surged in the hearts of all beings, whether they were NPCs or players, or even the monsters of this world. Their hearts were overshadowed by a cloud known as fear, with monsters howling and roaring everywhere. Some monsters even frantically ran towards various cities, regardless of crashing harshly against the city walls, breaking bones and tearing muscles, without a single one turning back.
System: The game plot event, "Abyss Invasion," has officially begun. Players can now receive story quests from the newly appeared NPC in the city’s central square. Completing these quests will reward substantial combat experience and gold-tier or higher equipment;
All players who saw this system message suddenly felt their spirits lifted, as the previously oppressive mood significantly improved. They rushed to the central squares of their respective cities.
In the City of Hope, numerous players were also rushing to the central square. True to expectations, near a fountain at the center of the square, a new NPC had appeared. This NPC was clad in a black robe, with a face hidden under a hood, obscuring their true appearance.
This NPC’s name displayed above their head was "Abyss Guide Bavarlov," with a level indicated by a skull symbol and attributes shown as a series of question marks, clearly indicating that this NPC’s strength far surpassed that of the players.
It didn’t take long for the NPC’s surroundings to be crowded with people, but no matter how the players asked, this NPC named Bavarlov remained silent, ignoring the players’ questions as if waiting for something.
After some time, a loud blast of thunder suddenly sounded in the sky, and a whirlwind like the howling of ghosts and wolves sprang up out of nowhere. A swirl of sand kicked up, blinding people, while the air too carried a slight, foul stench.
Just then, all the black pyramids on the ground that had not been destroyed began to change, moving fluidly as if they were made of liquid, and in no time, they transformed into rugged-looking fortresses.
Moments later, a host of Abyssal creatures poured out from the fortresses. As soon as they appeared, these Abyssal creatures raised their heads and let out a roar, flaring their nostrils and vigorously sniffing the air around them.
