For Fang Zheng, this was simply a nightmare.
He hates maintaining other people’s code libraries the most, and this particular code library is making Fang Zheng feel disgusted.
Everything is a mess, entangled in a way that drives people crazy. It makes Fang Zheng feel like he’s looking at a theme city created by a neurotic player—the best way to tidy up this mess is to delete all the blueprints and let Laozi rebuild it...
But there’s no way.
In the end, Fang Zheng had to adopt a rather clumsy method to solve this timeline chaos issue.
It’s been mentioned before, the timeline chaos in Conan’s world is caused by the "game program error," meaning that originally, according to the game settings, Conan goes to Location A due to the four different seasons of "spring, summer, autumn, and winter," leading to different cases like "Valentine’s Day Murder" in spring, "Vacation Murder" in summer, "Excursion Murder" in autumn, and "Skiing Murder" in winter.
So you can’t trigger "Skiing Murder" in spring, nor can you celebrate Valentine’s Day in summer.
But after the timeline chaos, it became four events all triggered at once, leading to the absurdity in Conan’s world of having nine Valentine’s and five Christmases in a year.
And Fang Zheng’s solution to this problem was simple, stop the N options and split each triggered event into separate years!
In other words, the four randomly triggered events ABCD at Location A become a fixed timeline: year one is event A, year two is event B, year three is event C, year four is event D...
We also won’t have random triggers anymore, just a fixed process, play if you want, or leave... Anyway, it’s not like I made this game.
Ultimately, Fang Zheng resolved the timeline chaos in Conan’s world in this way. As a consequence, the crime rate in Japan might remain high for the coming years or even decades. Besides a moment of silence, Fang Zheng doesn’t have much to say—better than having to destroy the world.
Of course, during this process, Fang Zheng also found information about that dark organization, and he manufactured the cure for APTX4869. He handed it to Conan, implying that he should handle these troubles himself, and then left this world with Akemi, Little Ai, and Mira.
An eye-catching glow flashed by.
When everyone opened their eyes, the first thing they saw was a dome over a hundred meters tall, a glowing floor, and surrounding grass and woods.
"Commander, you’ve returned."
Iona quietly stood in front of Fang Zheng, greeted him respectfully and obediently.
"I’m back... Hmm, the Star City seems quite well-built now."
Fang Zheng looked at the Star City in front of him with satisfaction; this is the central fortress of the Heavenly Dao Palace in the Yotsuba Galaxy. When Fang Zheng entered the new world before, construction had just started here, and now it’s already done.
"Yes, the construction progress of Star City has reached eighty percent. Two fully equipped Super Flagship Fleets are currently docked here to deal with any potential issues. The interstellar route has been completed, reducing travel time from the Alfalfa Galaxy to the Yotsuba Galaxy to three hours."
"So it’s true, to get rich you have to build roads, the ancients didn’t deceive me."
Fang Zheng nodded with emotion.
"What else?"
"Reports from various places indicate everything is basically normal; Heavenly Dao Palace has no issues and is operating stably. The Galactic Empire currently has a standoff with the Chaos Demon and Taren Insect Race, and our external fight zone in the Galaxy has already eliminated over thirty percent of the Taren Insect Race."
"Hmm, that’s good, as long as things are going smoothly..."
While reading the information in front of him and listening to Iona’s report, Fang Zheng had no objections; everything is normal, that’s good. No matter what, he’s laid enough foundation, and generally, the local stationed army can handle any minor trouble now.
Fang Zheng and Iona walked and talked, while behind them Akemi Miyano, Haibara Ai, and Mira were in a state of complete awe. Although they’d mentally prepared for this before arriving, they still couldn’t believe their eyes when witnessing everything in front of them.
"Commander, who are these..."
Only after finishing her report did Iona turn her gaze to the three girls beside Fang Zheng, who became tense under her gaze.
"They are residents of Planet 5 in the Yotsuba Galaxy and will be our representatives on that planet."
This is also why Fang Zheng brought Akemi and the others to the Heavenly Dao Palace, because each world is different, so Fang Zheng also formulated a series of charters. If the world itself is calm, then Fang Zheng just controls one force, or even a small group is enough.
For example, in the World of Cicada’s Song, Fang Zheng has Furutega Rika and others to help keep an eye on things. In the Game World, Fang Zheng just set up a game company, CCC. In the World of Love, Fang Zheng cooperates with 765 Productions. For the troubles at the Second Coordinate Point, Fang Zheng left it to Misato Katsuragi and the newly formed NERV to handle.
At the Third Coordinate Point, Fang Zheng currently only controls Academy City. In the Type Moon World, Fang Zheng merely holds the Magecraft world. Mecha World is where Fang Zheng played a bit bigger; in Mass Effect, he occupies several star systems, and in the Mech World, Fang Zheng controls the Chinese Federation.
Overall, the aim of Heavenly Dao Palace is that if there’s a local force present, it should quietly be a bystander, occasionally lending a hand. However, unless these worlds face problems like Chaos Invasion that they can’t handle themselves, Heavenly Dao Palace will not actively intervene.
Only like the First Coordinate Point, where the world was nearly destroyed by Chaos erosion, would Heavenly Dao Palace actively take on the duty of governance.
Similarly, the surface "Danganronpa World," Fang Zheng decided to leave it to the "Ultimate Player" Nanami Chiaki to take charge, with Celestina and Sayaka Maizono assisting her. As for the Conan side of the inner world, Fang Zheng decided to entrust it to Mira, the Princess—no, Her Majesty the Queen, and Akemi Miyano and Haibara Ai are just to assist her.
By comparison, Nanami Chiaki has a heavier burden, because the outer world has been almost destroyed by despair and nuclear bombs, and she also has to undertake reconstruction tasks. For Conan here, Mira just needs to ensure her country is trouble-free and go around, observing those involved...
Fang Zheng explained these to the three on the way, but for them, hearing it was still quite unbelievable until they saw everything firsthand, and only then did they finally feel the weight of Fang Zheng’s words.
Of course, every time Fang Zheng returns from other worlds, there’s a pile of issues that need resolving.
"Miss Nanami indicated that she lacks manpower over there; Miss Yuuki and the others have gone to help."
"I know, she mentioned this before, I will contact her."
Fang Zheng naturally understood the severity of Nanami’s problem; nuclear winter, combined with the spread of despair, Apocalypse Virus, and chaotic situations like the Vampire Empire are running amok. Fang Zheng directly dealt with the vampires through orbital strikes, and the Apocalypse Virus was eradicated too, but nuclear winter and other mutated creatures are still a major threat.
Oh, speaking of vampires...
"Fang Zheng———!!"
With a sharp scream, the next moment Akemi, Little Ai, and Mira saw a cute girl with pitch-black bat wings and long pink hair suddenly swoop down from the sky.
"Help!!"
"Krul? What’s going on?"
Watching Krul in front of him, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow. This was the Vampire Queen he had captured from the Danganronpa World, and since then, he had kept her here as a captive. Fang Zheng didn’t have much demand concerning this Vampire Queen...
"You’re asking me?"
Krul clung tightly to Fang Zheng’s clothes, her face flushed with anger.
"That one called Flandre, what kind of creature is she!"
"What kind of creature, she’s a vampire just like you."
"You’re lying! I’ve never seen a vampire like that..."
However, before Krul could finish her sentence, a cheerful and innocent voice sounded from behind her.
"Ah, Krul, I found you!!"
"—————!!"
Upon hearing this voice, Krul’s face turned white instantly, and she quickly dashed to the opposite side. Meanwhile, everyone saw Flandre joyfully descend from the sky, then reach out and grab Krul forcefully.
"Got you."
With Flandre’s pure and playful words, in the next moment, Krul’s body suddenly exploded like a balloon, her limbs intermixed with her shattered torso scattering everywhere. Krul’s head rolled across the floor, stopping by Akemi’s feet. Her wide-open eyes gazed blankly at the three people before her, as if trying to express the suffering of a tragic victim in torment...
"Eek—————!!"
Witnessing this, Akemi screamed in fright, Mira gasped, and Haibara Ai’s face turned equally pale as she hid tightly behind her sister.
"Ah, Daddy! Hold me!"
Upon seeing Fang Zheng, Flandre immediately shifted her attention, cheerily reaching out to him, while Fang Zheng too extended his arms and cradled Flandre in his embrace.
"Hmm, I’m back. Have you been good?"
"Yes, I’ve always listened to Daddy. I only played with Krul, and Krul is so much fun!!"
"What... what do you mean... fun...!!"
Just then, accompanied by a voice like the resentment of a hellish demon, Krul’s blown-apart body quickly reformed, though she appeared much paler than before.
"Now do you know how miserable I am!!"
"How miserable?"
Fang Zheng glanced at Krul.
"Anyway, you can’t die, so what’s the problem?"
"Is it about dying or not dying? You might as well give me a quick death..."
"Krul, Krul, let’s play hide and seek again!"
"——————!"
Before Flandre finished speaking, Krul’s form turned into a whirlwind and vanished at the end of the corridor. Meanwhile, Flandre clapped her hands, giggled as she freed herself from Fang Zheng’s embrace, and flew towards the direction Krul had disappeared.
"..............."
The three stood in stunned silence, and after a moment, Mira looked at Fang Zheng, surprised.
"Fang Zheng, do you have... a child now?"
"She’s kind of adopted by me. It’s not possible for me to have a vampire kid."
"But... but that’s... a bit too scary."
By now, Little Ai peeked out from behind Akemi, staring at the sparkling clean floor. Even though the floor had not a trace of blood, she didn’t think she had imagined what she saw earlier.
"That girl called Krul is really pitiful."
"Pitiful?"
Faced with Little Ai’s question, Fang Zheng chuckled.
"Don’t be fooled by her appearance. She’s actually the Queen of the Vampire Empire. After the last world encountered a nuclear bomb washout, her vampires came up to the surface trying to establish a vampire dynasty. They slaughtered humans liberally and took children your age to raise like livestock, eating them whenever they wished—now do you still think she’s pitiful?"
"Uh..."
Upon hearing this, Little Ai fell silent, not expecting such things could happen.
"Since Krul can’t die, let her accompany Flandre, and besides..."
While speaking, Fang Zheng looked towards the corridor’s end, coincidentally catching sight of a tiny green figure leaving alongside Flandre.
"She now has a new friend."
