Although Fang Zheng made preparations as if facing a formidable enemy, whether by the blessing of the Goddess of Fortune or not, he safely transported the entire vein directly to space. The vein would be cut and disassembled into two parts in the planet’s low Earth orbit by the Stone Village: one part being the Spirit Crystal mine, which would be further processed and collected by the equipment on the Stone Village, and the other sealed in the vacuum, left for Nymph to figure out what exactly it was.
After all, it seemed that for the time being, Fang Zheng’s Heavenly Dao Palace might have to rely on deep-sea mining to get by. If he could figure out what this thing was, to find a way to deal with or control it, then he wouldn’t need to go through such great lengths in the future... Although planetary disintegration is a universally employed mining method, one must consider whether there are people living on the planet...
Luckily, as a "Planet Disintegration Ship," the Stone Village was equipped with very comprehensive facilities. According to the Stone Village, in addition to the mineral storage bays and the planet disintegration deck used for storing ores, it also had a chemical laboratory, a medical research lab, and a flight control deck that could accommodate small spacecraft. The planet disintegration ship itself even came with a 1000MM caliber asteroid defense autocannon system and a 1200MM caliber anti-aircraft system...
Basically, it wouldn’t be wrong to think of it as a moving space station.
For this reason, Fang Zheng was very confident placing the Stone Village in low Earth orbit. That way, no matter what happened, the Stone Village could report to him immediately. And even if it was attacked, it had enough capability to fight back and protect itself—although, there was likely nothing on this planet capable of attacking the Stone Village as of now.
Of course, Fang Zheng’s greatest achievement since entering space wasn’t mining; it was... he could launch satellites now!
While the Goddess of Order’s satellites occupied the high-orbit tracks, the low orbits were still vacant. Nymph combined the technology from Star Spirits and Synapsus to create a new satellite system with the Crystal Tower at its core. It not only possesses communication abilities and real-time image and data transmission, but it can also launch strikes from satellite orbit against ground targets.
It could be said that with this device, Fang Zheng had finally leaped from the magic era of the Middle Ages into the modern universe of starry seas... At the very least, his local area network had finally become global!
Of course, covering the entire planet with the satellite network would take some time, so Fang Zheng was not in a hurry. Instead, after ensuring there was no problem with his subsequent energy reserves, Fang Zheng immediately set off for the Western Continent.
After all, a gentleman does not let grievances last overnight. You, Kingdom of Flame, dare to trouble me? Does that mean you really don’t take me seriously?
Not to mention that Nymph’s coordinates were also on the Western Continent. As a Paladin, upon feeling the summon of the Goddess, Fang Zheng naturally embarked on the journey to find out what was happening...
To avoid giving the Kingdom of Flame any leverage, Fang Zheng was very cautious on this trip. Besides Lulana and some Zerg units, he didn’t bring anyone else. Whether it was Kurumi, Yoshino, or Little Hei Illya, Fang Zheng left all of them back at the Heavenly Dao Palace. Firstly, they could use this opportunity to get acquainted with the other companions there, and secondly... the combat mode of the Zerg was indeed not something he wanted them to witness.
"This is the West Coast..."
Stepping off the warship and looking at the New Continent shrouded in mist and dark clouds before him, Fang Zheng’s expression turned somewhat grim. The Kingdom of Flame occupied only a third of the Western Continent; the rest was wild and like the previous Chaos Land of the Northern Fortress. The environment here was the same, but unlike the Northlands, it was even more harsh.
Perhaps due to the higher latitude, the Chaos Land in the Northlands manifested as icy snowfields and endless snowflakes. But here one could see swamps among the fog and various oddly shaped trees...
This place needed no make-up to shoot a horror movie; it could comfortably film Jason and Fred from the first part straight to the last without repeating any scenes.
"This fog is full of deadly poison, master,"
Iona said, standing beside Fang Zheng, her eyes conveying unease and concern.
"Are you sure you don’t need me to stay?"
"If you stayed here, people from the Kingdom of Flame would know I’m behind this immediately,"
Fang Zheng shook his head, dismissing Iona’s offer. This was also why he used only the Zerg to pave the way this time. It was because other entities were too distinctive, such as metal warships; it was impossible to hide their identities. Once seen by someone from the Kingdom of Flame, it would be a waste for Fang Zheng, as senseless as a blind man lighting a candle.
"It’s okay, don’t worry, I won’t have an accident this time... I promise you."
Seeing that Iona still hesitated to leave, Fang Zheng knew that the failure to protect him previously might have left a psychological shadow on her. To be honest, he felt quite sorry for the three of them. Black Katie seemed to also not have come out of her shadow, and as for Rodney... Well, every time she looked at Fang Zheng, he got the feeling that if the same situation arose again, she would likely throw herself forward as a human shield...
In the end, Fang Zheng managed to convince Iona to leave with great difficulty, looking back three steps at a time. Not until he saw the Annihilation Level ship turn and depart did he breathe a sigh of relief.
"Master, I also believe you should not take personal risks,"
And it was at this moment that the Insect Matriarch, who had been quietly following by Fang Zheng’s side, finally spoke up.
"You are the Zerg Overlord, your life is even more precious than you think, you can completely leave these kinds of matters to others to handle..."
"I am only partially the Zerg Overlord."
Fang Zheng waved his hand.
"I am also partly human, um, so don’t be too surprised, after all, humans are such emotional creatures. I am not interested in becoming a cold and heartless ruler. To be honest, I think this is as good as it gets for me in this lifetime, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing... Anyway, let’s do what we need to do. The climate here seems pretty harsh, can the Zerg withstand it?"
"Of course, Master."
Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s question, Lulana nodded her head.
"This level of climate is not an issue for the Zerg."
"Good, then let’s get started..."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng reached out his hand to open the Teleportation Gate, and soon, several Zerg emerged from it, coming to stand before Fang Zheng.
"Let’s go, we need to find a place to establish a base."
While speaking, Fang Zheng led his Zerg subordinates into the marshland before them.
Although the entire marshland was filled with lethal poison gas everywhere, that was relative to the fragile human species. Fang Zheng, with the bloodline of the Time Dragon, as the Zerg Overlord, and having received the inheritance of the Third Magic, found the poison gas almost non-existent to him, and the Zerg naturally didn’t mind it either——many planets had even harsher living conditions, and the Zerg could even survive in a vacuum, let alone such a poisonous environment.
At most, the air pollution was a bit more severe.
Unlike the barren Northern Snowfield, this place seemed to have once been a dense forest, but it had also become warped by the invasion of Chaos. The once leafy branches of trees had long since shed their leaves, leaving only bare trunks, and what was more perplexing was that these trunks seemed to have gone crazy, twisting like tentacles and intertwining with each other, looking like some kind of bizarre creatures... However, fortunately, these things seemed to be completely dead.
"It seems to be just as I thought..."
Walking into the forest, Fang Zheng summoned the system and stared intently at the interface. Previously, at the Northern Fortress, before he had even entered the Chaos Land, his system had already degraded to a 3G network. Now that Fang Zheng had arrived at the Chaos Land of another continent, his system signal remained as stable as if placed right next to a router. This further confirmed Fang Zheng’s speculation——it seems his system had indeed been powered by the world’s order before, so it went down in Chaos Land. But now, Fang Zheng had cut off the power supply and switched to a generator, stabilizing the system’s power output...
So, what exactly was the relationship between his rebirth, the system, and this world?
While watching the Zerg start to build the base, Fang Zheng furrowed his brows and pondered. He once tended to believe that the Goddess was still in this world, perhaps like in many novels he had read, as a powerful deity she might not be able to directly intervene in the world, so she might have been using his power instead.
But if the information that Nymph had gathered was not wrong, then the Goddess of Order... or rather, the Goddess of Order who had created everything on this planet had already disappeared. So what was his rebirth and this system all about then?
Not only that, but there was also one more thing that puzzled Fang Zheng, which was a sentence in the Goddess of Order’s message. She had said:
"...Although I really want to talk more with ’me’ and my children..."
At the time, Fang Zheng hadn’t thought much of it, but after reflecting on that sentence, he suddenly realized something wasn’t quite right. "My children" was understandable, probably referring to the life forms on this planet. But what was "me" about? To be frank, Fang Zheng had only seen a similar way of speaking in one person.
That was Kurumi and her clones.
Fang Zheng always felt that there were other secrets hidden within...
