Dong dong dong dong dong... dong dong dong dong dong... (BGM starts)
I am the high school detective Washing Machine. One day, while playing at the amusement park with my childhood friend, Ran Mouri, I inadvertently witnessed the transaction of the men in black. Because I was too focused, I didn’t realize his accomplice was right beside me. The man forced poison down my throat, and when I came to—my body had shrunk!
If they knew the Washing Machine was still alive, they would certainly come to take my life again. This would endanger the people around me. Therefore, on Dr. Agasa’s advice, I’ve decided to hide my true identity. When Ran asked for my name, I had a flash of inspiration and called myself Edogawa Conan.
To gather clues about the men in black, I infiltrated Sister Lan’s house, whose father is a detective... and was compelled to join the Boy Detectives with classmates Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko.
Even though I’ve shrunk, my mind is still as sharp, and I can still be a wise detective!
There’s only ever one truth!
I can recite this by heart, you know.
Lying in bed, Fang Zheng felt utterly dejected.
This was the worst time he’d been screwed over!
Alright, considering the Danganronpa world had a core of reasoning, it’s understandable that the Inner World is a realm of deduction, but why... why does it have to be this one?!
Bloody hell, the so-called never-ending detective?!
This doesn’t care about life, does it?
And what’s even more ridiculous is that I actually traveled to the time when the washing machine had just turned back to miniature size!!
It’s just MMP!!
Of course, besides the parts that drove Fang Zheng nuts, he also figured out this world’s features.
First, all mysterious types of powers are ineffective in this world.
That’s right, all mysterious powers, including Fang Zheng’s abilities as the Time Dragon, as a Mage, as a Holy Knight, as a Deity, and as a member of the Undead Squad. None of these exist in this world... which is obvious, considering it’s such a "Conanology" world!
Secondly, the tolerance for technology in this world is quite high. Fang Zheng’s personal terminal worked perfectly with no problems at all. This makes sense, considering that Dr. Agasa could invent a butterfly voice changer capable of mimicking anyone’s voice, shoes that kicked soccer balls like missiles, and the drug that could shrink people... this has long surpassed the level of black technology...
Fang Zheng was unfazed by this. Even the Galactic Empire’s operating system is still DOS, and they can build star-killing warships, so this is nothing, it’s normal, normal.
In terms of physical abilities, Fang Zheng’s body attribute is one percent of what it originally was—of course, that may sound weak, but in this world, it’s already at a superhuman level.
Except it can’t punch and collapse a building.
But these are not the issues.
The issue is... this is Conan!!!
If his goal this time is to exist in this world as the "actual BOSS of the Black Organization," does he even have a chance to meet him?
Just thinking about this made Fang Zheng feel depressed.
If it were any other long-running manga, whether it be Naruto or One Piece, at least you’d know who the enemy camp is. If Fang Zheng were to travel to those worlds, he could just go straight for it. But in this world, with that black organization being elusive as a Divine Dragon, Fang Zheng knows only of Gin and Vodka, and doesn’t even know where they are.
Does the Black Organization have a base?
No idea.
How many people are in the Black Organization?
No idea.
What does the Black Organization want to do?
No idea.
MMP, it’s like a bloody three-no-knowledge situation!! It’s not even that Fang Zheng can’t summon "Ratziel" in this world, even if he could, he probably wouldn’t get any clues either.
But Fang Zheng isn’t without options.
If he wants to force out the mastermind, aside from finding them step by step, he has two other methods.
First, blow up this world directly.
Although Fang Zheng can’t use the power of the Primordial Fire in this world, he can completely hack into global systems via his personal terminal, then start a nuclear war, turning the place into the disaster of the Outer World; he doesn’t believe the mastermind would continue feigning death.
Second, eliminate Conan.
The protagonist of every world serves as its soul and core character; as long as Conan is taken out, the mastermind might probably come out... maybe?
Of course, these two methods aren’t very reliable, especially considering the other side could be corrupted by Chaos, so they might not care about his order-breaking actions at all.
So there’s a final method.
Just like he did in the Northern Empire, kill every member of the Black Organization he sees!
What Gin, Vodka, Belmod, whoever shows up gets killed, those who come in pairs get double killed—wipe out the Black Organization until there’s no one left, and the mastermind will have to show themselves.
Since Conan is still a world of "Conanology," organizational core members like those are definitely hard to train; as long as he kills them all, the Black Organization will probably panic and come after him, at which point he could go all out on them.
Fang Zheng doesn’t plan on stealing Conan’s meal ticket. For one, he’s genuinely not interested in deduction, and for another—he hardly remembers any culprits.
That’s right, Fang Zheng grew up watching Conan from a young age, and by the time he graduated college and was working, Conan still wasn’t finished airing.
But precisely because of this, with too many culprits, Fang Zheng can’t remember hardly any of the plotlines, alright!
The movies were better; at least up to "The Undead of Baker Street," Fang Zheng could still recall them. But when it comes to the TV series, Fang Zheng only remembers two culprits: Asai Makoto, and Akemi Miyano. The former because of the "Moonlight Sonata Murder Case" and its childhood shadow, and it was also the first crossdresser murderer in the Conan world, so Fang Zheng remembered it deeply.
Fang Zheng still remembers watching it as a child and never imagining that female doctor was actually a man... Honestly, it made no sense at all... throughout the whole case there was no evidence or indication that the person was male, and suddenly in the deduction, they gave this conclusion, leaving people baffled, alright.
It’s like a movie suddenly revealing at the end that the protagonist is a Martian, and you can imagine the audience being just as dumbfounded.
As for Akemi Miyano, it’s entirely because of Haibara Ai. If not for that character, Fang Zheng wouldn’t remember Akemi Miyano either—there are plenty of bank robbers in the Conan world, who would remember this one?
After entering high school, Fang Zheng barely watched Conan because he was busy studying. The newer characters... he basically only saw in spoilers and some magazine information, most of them he didn’t recognize.
As for the content of those cases, he naturally had forgotten most of it long ago.
So now Fang Zheng’s actions in this world are entirely based on the impressions remaining in his mind.
First, Fang Zheng’s goal is to find Akemi Miyano, who is using the alias Masami Hirota. This isn’t hard to do; take a tour of all the banks in Beika City, and you’ll almost certainly find her. Then watch her closely until the bank heist occurs. Afterward, Akemi Miyano will go to Gin to deliver goods, and as long as Fang Zheng follows Akemi Miyano, he will definitely catch Gin. If he can catch him, great; if not, kill him!
After all, according to Fang Zheng’s memory, Gin is considered the most capable employee in the Black Organization. If he dies, there’s no way the Black Organization would ignore it. They’ll definitely find out who killed him, so if Fang Zheng acts high-profile enough, these fools will come to him to be killed.
He’s certainly not like Heiji Hattori and Shinichi Kudou, among others, little kids. For Fang Zheng, killing individuals is nothing. You guys want to play detective games, that’s your business, I won’t be playing detective with you!
Adults have adult ways of handling things!
Once he had a plan, Fang Zheng quickly started to act.
First, he bought the house next door to Shinichi Kudou’s old residence. This way, he can monitor Shinichi Kudou’s old home. Fang Zheng remembered that Haibara Ai once told Conan that after the Black Organization continuously sent people to investigate their house several times, though he didn’t know if he’d encounter them, trying wouldn’t hurt.
Moreover, living next to Shinichi Kudou also makes it easy to pick up a particular unlucky little girl.
Next, Fang Zheng acquired a company specializing in the manufacturing and sale of surveillance cameras and improved its manufacturing process, establishing a "monitoring safety network system."
Then Fang Zheng used this as an opportunity to connect with a Senator Yamada from Tokyo, discussing and communicating deeply with him on the theme of "building a city where everyone can live in peace."
Overall, Fang Zheng suggested Senator Yamada submit a proposal to improve city safety and reduce crime rates. The core content is setting up numerous surveillance cameras in public places and streets, managed and coordinated by the Metropolitan Police Department. This way, regardless of traffic accidents or security incidents, everything would be documented, making it easier to solve cases and lower crime rates, achieving a double benefit.
As for this proposal, Senator Yamada naturally was very committed, quickly contacting the Metropolitan Police Department, who were also interested. After all, improving safety and reducing crime rates is a top priority for the police, and the current "full-line monitoring safety system" does solve their urgent needs.
Thus, both parties quickly agreed, and Fang Zheng donated a batch of surveillance equipment to the police as a return, receiving a "special consultant" title from the police, effectively connecting him with the Metropolitan Police Department.
So you see, this is the adult, mature way to utilize power and connections; playing detective games like Shinichi Kudou and Heiji Hattori leads nowhere!
No matter how many cases you solve, it’s worthless; only by improving overall social safety can crime incidents be effectively prevented... so-called detective games only treat the symptoms, not the cause.
Wait, all this must have cost a lot of money, where does Fang Zheng’s money come from?
Well... Fang Zheng stated that the FBI budget in this world is rather abundant...
Quite abundant.
And after spending so much money, Fang Zheng also received some rewards, such as now... he received an invitation from Matsumoto Officer from the criminal investigation department of the Metropolitan Police Department, inviting him to attend his daughter’s wedding.
Of course, Fang Zheng knew this was also a way for the Metropolitan Police Department to build a good relationship with him, which he gladly accepted.
However... fate indeed loves to play tricks.
"Mr. Fang Zheng!"
Just as Fang Zheng arrived at the wedding ceremony scene, a voice called out. Hearing this, Fang Zheng turned around to see a long-haired girl in a school uniform waving at him.
"Isn’t this Miss Ran? Hello."
Looking at the girl in front of him, Fang Zheng nodded and greeted her—indeed, this girl was the first female lead from the "Conan" series, Ran Mouri.
The reason Fang Zheng knew her was simple... because Fang Zheng bought the house next to the Kudou Family, naturally connecting with Dr. Agasa. Frankly speaking, Fang Zheng was quite interested in Dr. Agasa’s unscientific "Conanology" inventions, hence visiting him often, and Ran Mouri would occasionally visit Dr. Agasa, so the two got to know each other in the process.
"Sister Ran, who is this person?"
Suddenly, a young voice sounded, and Fang Zheng looked down, seeing a little kid in a blue suit staring at him.
Yeah, that overwhelming Grim Reaper aura is indeed chilling. Just standing here, Fang Zheng could feel the thick Power of Death surrounding this boy...
"Ah, Conan, this is Mr. Fang Zheng I’ve mentioned to you. Mr. Fang Zheng, this is Edogawa Conan."
"Hello, Conan."
Looking at the Shinigami Elementary Student in front of him, Fang Zheng smiled slightly and greeted him, and Conan hurriedly returned the greeting.
"Hello!"
"But Mr. Fang Zheng, why are you here?"free
Sure enough, Ran Mouri then asked Fang Zheng her question, to which Fang Zheng shrugged.
"I received an invitation from Matsumoto Officer from the criminal investigation department to attend his daughter’s wedding. You are...?"
"Today’s bride, Little Lily, is our teacher," Ran replied.
At this moment, Sonoko Suzuki also ran over to greet Fang Zheng.
"I see."
Hearing this, Fang Zheng nodded, while Sonoko Suzuki looked at him curiously.
"But Mr. Fang Zheng, you said you received an invitation from the Metropolitan Police Department... are you a police officer?"
"No, it’s just that my company has some cooperation with the Metropolitan Police Department... sorry, I’ll take leave for a moment."
After casually chatting with Sonoko for a few words, Fang Zheng found an excuse to leave, then he navigated through the crowd to a burly man.
"Matsumoto Officer."
"Ah, Mr. Fang Zheng."
Hearing Fang Zheng’s greeting, the man named Matsumoto turned around and nodded solemnly at him. He was the father of the bride and the officer in charge of criminal investigation in the Metropolitan Police Department. He was burly, with a square jaw and a scar on his left eye, looking like a serious and slightly intimidating man.
"Welcome to my daughter’s wedding."
"It’s my honor; thank you for inviting me to attend your daughter’s wedding."
Fang Zheng extended his hand to shake hands with Matsumoto Officer while sighing internally.
If the Shinigami Elementary Student is here, it means... this wedding might turn into a funeral instead...
