"Uh..."
Looking at the world shrouded in black mist, Fang Zheng took a step back.
For some reason, he suddenly felt a bit anxious.
You should know that back at Tenjin Elementary, even when facing Yukiko and Nirvana, Fang Zheng went straight through without any hesitation.
But now looking at this world in front of him, why did he feel a bit uneasy?
It must be an illusion, an illusion.
Fang Zheng coughed, then clenched his fists, and vigilantly stared at the world. The world, in turn, grinned, revealing a creepy smile.
"Haruno, come on... I’ll always be by your side... Hahaha... You don’t need to go anywhere hahaha!!"
With this chilling laughter, Fang Zheng saw the world suddenly leap up, holding a kitchen knife and charging at him.
For this kind of attack, Fang Zheng naturally wasn’t afraid. Just kidding, he’s seen everything, fought all kinds of enemies, how could he possibly be scared of this little girl... What the heck?!
What Fang Zheng didn’t expect was that just as the world swung the knife, he suddenly felt the surrounding space solidify, as if shackles had firmly imprisoned him. This wasn’t the first time he’d experienced something like this, it was when he faced a legendary powerhouse in the Main World... wait a minute! When did the world become a legendary powerhouse?!
This made Fang Zheng internally shocked; if it were in the Main World, he could deal with her in minutes. But in this world, besides his body comparable to a special forces soldier and the Primordial Fire, he couldn’t use anything else!
But luckily, he could still burn!
Thinking of this, facing the gleaming knife edge, Fang Zheng didn’t hesitate, his body suddenly trembled, and the Primordial Fire erupted from him, forcibly stretching the space that had imprisoned him. Then Fang Zheng took the opportunity to roll away. Meanwhile, the world’s knife just grazed Fang Zheng’s shoulder, leaving a deep blood mark.
"Brother?!"
Seeing this, Sora also shouted, while Fang Zheng was terrified. Because he realized that when facing the world’s attack, his Primordial Fire’s power had significantly weakened!
What on earth is going on?
Wait, let me think...
Staring at the world who missed her strike and was walking towards him again, Fang Zheng cautiously kept an eye on her while quickly thinking.
Every world has its essence, and that essence affects the entire setting. For example, in some worlds, Fang Zheng can’t use magic, in others, he can’t use technology. In some worlds, he can only transform into a Magical Girl to have combat power, which is due to the "setting priority" of the world.
So what about this world?
This is a World of Love, which means everything related to love has a priority greatly enhanced. Perhaps the supernatural instance he opened before had the same logic, after all, for the main characters to develop feelings through a ghost house adventure makes sense, right?
So what else is related to love?
Club activities, dates, and... murder out of passion?
Oh my god! Wait a minute, is this why the world gains the ability of a legendary powerhouse when attacking him?
Thinking of this, a cold sweat appeared on Fang Zheng’s forehead.
He used to mock those love games, movies, novels, and animations where the male protagonist never dodges the female protagonist’s attacks, waiting stupidly to get beaten or cut—wasn’t that foolish?
Now thinking back, it’s probably not stupidity, but the world’s setting priority!
It’s not that those male protagonists don’t want to dodge, it’s that they simply can’t!
Perhaps when they faced the female protagonist’s blade, they thought about dodging, escaping, or even resisting, but the moment the female protagonist drew her blade, the whole world imprisoned them, forcing them into the "murder out of passion" scenario, playing the role of the victim!
Luckily, Fang Zheng has the Primordial Fire, which allows him to somewhat create a world law of his own, barely offsetting the priority imprisonment of this world. Otherwise, he, the dignified Fang, Time Dragon, Zerg Overlord, Lord of the Heavenly Dao Palace, Paladin, God of Magical Girls, King Shurou, would have been stabbed to death by this sixteen-year-old girl here!
Are you kidding me?!
Feeling the pain on his shoulder, Fang Zheng stood up, gritting his teeth, and stared at the world, while contemplating his next move.
Indeed, the world is just a little girl, her attacks are straightforward, so any professional soldier, let alone a soldier, any well-trained police officer could easily take her down.
Of course, those three-hundred-pound Americans who can’t walk don’t count.
But the problem is, when the world takes action, the world itself helps her.
Indeed, as a special forces soldier, taking down a little girl is a piece of cake.
But what if when you make a move, dozens or hundreds of people hold your legs, grab your hands, and drag you down?
Even if you were Rambo+James Bond+Arnold Schwarzenegger, you’d be doomed!
"Brother, watch out for that knife!!"
At this moment, Yukiko also hurriedly reminded him; she had also tried to knock the world away earlier. But what Yukiko didn’t expect was that her spiritual power got directly rebounded when it hit the world, frightening her into not daring to act rashly again.
After all, this is a World of Love, where the power of love is supreme!
"That knife?"
Hearing Yukiko’s words, Fang Zheng took a closer look at the kitchen knife in the world’s hand; from the outside, it seemed like just an ordinary kitchen knife. But upon closer inspection, this kitchen knife seemed somewhat strange. Although it indeed looked very ordinary, it was precisely because it was so ordinary that it seemed a bit odd.
And more bizarrely, the world holding the kitchen knife really seemed to suit it...
No matter what, this kitchen knife is indeed the greatest danger to Fang Zheng at the moment.
"Hahahahaha!!!"
With maniacal laughter, the world again gripped the kitchen knife tightly and rushed toward Fang Zheng briskly. At the same time, Fang Zheng experienced the space around him solidifying once more, immobilizing his body.
This is really bad.
Feeling the solidification around him, Fang Zheng gritted his teeth, then once again exploded with the Primordial Fire, forcibly pushing the space around him back. Simultaneously, the world thrust her knife at Fang Zheng’s chest again.
However, this time Fang Zheng didn’t dodge; dodging was no longer an option. Since Yukiko said the knife was the main problem, he just needed to seize the knife and burn it with fire, then there shouldn’t be any problem!!
Previously, when facing Gui Kotonoha’s Iai Slash, I could grab the blade barehanded with a hundred percent success rate. There’s no reason I shouldn’t be able to handle Sekai, who doesn’t even know how to slash properly!
Thinking this, Fang Zheng’s gaze sharpened, and he reached out his hand towards the knife Sekai was thrusting.
All I have to do next is grab the knife... oh crap!
However, what Fang Zheng didn’t expect was that just as his fingers were about to grasp the blade, for some unknown reason, the blade slipped sharply, as if it were changing tactics, and slid past his hand, heading straight for his side!
Damn, if someone didn’t know better, they’d think Saiin-ji Sekai was using some kind of secret cleaver sword technique!
Nine Dugu Blades, is it?!
Fortunately, Fang Zheng was experienced and well-versed, and quickly pressed down on Sekai’s wrist, causing the cleaver to narrowly miss his waist. While it didn’t stab Fang Zheng, it still left his waist feeling cold.
"Sekai, wake up!"
Grabbing Sekai’s wrist, Fang Zheng shouted at her while watching her, and Sekai continued to gaze at Fang Zheng with a bewildered and vacant expression.
"I’m very awake, Haruno, I want to be with you. I also don’t want to leave my family, so why don’t you all just stay here?"
"We can’t possibly stay here."
"Then... let’s all die together!"
Hearing this, Sekai’s expression suddenly turned manic.
"After killing you and Sora, I’ll kill myself!! Oh, and Setsuna, Yukina, Touma... everyone should just die, once everyone’s dead, everything will be okay! Hahahahahahaha!!!"
This is it; she’s completely lost it!
Watching the completely darkened Sekai, Fang Zheng didn’t even know what to say, while Sora next to him was almost paralyzed with fear.
Taking advantage of Fang Zheng’s distraction, Sekai suddenly broke free from his grip and raised the cleaver again to stab at Fang Zheng.
"Die, Haruno!"
That’s it!
Watching Sekai’s desperate scream, Fang Zheng suddenly had a bright idea.
If this continues, ordinary methods won’t restore Sekai. But Fang Zheng had watched a lot of romantic anime and novels, where the villain often controls the heroine to kill the protagonist, similar to the current scene. Usually, at such times, the protagonist won’t struggle or resist, presenting a "I trust you" image, letting the heroine strike.
Then, as the heroine is about to strike down the protagonist, she has a moment of epiphany and regains her senses.
That’s right, isn’t this a classic romantic trope?!
If that’s the case, then I can too!
With this thought, Fang Zheng resolved not to resist; he spread his arms open and rushed towards Sekai, shouting loudly.
"Wake up, Sekai!"
Facing Fang Zheng’s shout, Sekai’s hand speed didn’t pause at all, and Fang Zheng also didn’t dodge or evade, standing right in front of Sekai watching her, while Sora anxiously called out.
"Brother-------!!"
A flash of steel, and then...
"Pfft."
Blood splattered, and the sharp blade pierced into Fang Zheng’s body, bringing forth a splash of crimson blood.
What the hell, you actually stabbed me!!
Posing and waiting for Sekai to stop in time, Fang Zheng was dumbfounded, but fortunately, he wasn’t foolish; as Sekai’s knife stabbed down, he slightly moved his body, making the blade miss his heart and hit the lung instead...
But it still hurts so much!!
"Pfft......!"
Fang Zheng felt a sweetness in his throat and then spat out a mouthful of blood.
"Ah, I..."
With this stab, Sekai seemed to finally come back to her senses. She looked at the blood-splattered Fang Zheng with a blank expression, instinctively letting go of the knife and stepping back a few steps.
Now!
Seeing Sekai’s right hand leave the knife handle, Fang Zheng was revitalized, and he grabbed the knife, pulling it out of his body. Instantly, the burning Primordial Fire burst from Fang Zheng’s hand.
"Waaaaaa!!!"
A piercing scream appeared at the same time. Sekai, holding her head in pain, collapsed to the ground, black aura swirling around her, transforming into a pitch-black ghost shadow,
It was a terrifying female ghost, its eyes pitch black, dressed in tattered clothes, with limbs that seemed underdeveloped. It staggered backward, screaming, trying to flee. However, the Primordial Fire targeted it almost instantaneously, as red flames surged, engulfing it. In the next moment, accompanied by its wailing, the pitch-black ghost shadow completely disappeared, and the cleaver in Fang Zheng’s hand turned to ashes.
Simultaneously, Sekai and Yukina both collapsed to the ground, falling into unconsciousness.
"Whew........."
Only at this moment did Fang Zheng breathe a sigh of relief, then collapsed to the ground.
"Brother—Brother!!!"
At this point, Sora hurriedly rushed to Fang Zheng’s side, anxiously watching his bleeding wounds. Fang Zheng, however, smiled and patted Sora’s head.
"It’s okay... hmm... at least... it’s finally over..."
With that, Fang Zheng let out a long sigh, looking up at the sky.
At the same time, the torrential rain that had been pouring down gradually came to a stop.
