Alisa’s sudden outburst caught everyone off guard, so much so that it was only after she disappeared that they reacted.
"What the... what’s going on?"
"No matter what, let’s catch up... Kuroko, you go check the situation first."
"Alright."
Upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words, Kuroko nodded, then her figure disappeared into the air.
At this moment, Alisa’s mind was a blank slate. She stared fiercely at the dark figure in front of her, her eyes almost bloodshot. The reason she came here and joined Fenrir was all for this moment! Yes, it was the creature that devoured her parents!
Becoming a God Eater, injecting Oracle Cells, even risking fights, all to kill it and avenge her parents!!
"I’m going to kill you!!"
At this moment, Alisa had completely lost her reason. She had pushed her speed to the limit, and now she had only one goal, to kill that creature and avenge her hate!
"Roar———!!"
Just then, with a roar, several Ghost Face Wild Gods suddenly pounced from both sides, opening their massive mouths toward Alisa.
"Don’t block the way!!"
Facing the impending threat, Alisa continued to sprint without stopping, slashing with her sword and sending the Ghost Face Wild God before her flying away, then continuing forward.
However, even though Alisa had used all her strength, her speed was still no match for the giant Wild God. Watching as the Wild God was about to disappear over the horizon, Alisa exerted all her might, ignoring her safety to continue rushing forward.
"Hey, what’s with you?"
At this point, Kuroko flickered over near Alisa, shouting loudly.
"Wake up, you’re in great danger now!"
Alisa was completely oblivious to the fact that she was surrounded by Gods on all sides, whether flying overhead or running on the ground. Apart from the Ghost Face Wild Gods and King Kong Wild Gods they had previously defeated, there were also several female-faced Wild Gods.
These Wild Gods were now staring fiercely at Alisa, running toward her, while Alisa was instinctively dodging their attacks without any care.
"You really..."
Kuroko dodged the attacks of the Wild Gods behind her repeatedly. She couldn’t even get close to Alisa to pull her out due to the sheer number of Wild Gods surrounding her. More importantly, the weight of Alisa’s Divine Machine exceeded Kuroko’s teleportation limit, so saving her would require teleporting Alisa first, then herself.
Unlike Misaka Mikoto and Saten Reiko, who could teleport together, in this situation, even a second delay could be fatal, not to mention the abundance of creatures. Kuroko couldn’t effectively use Spatial Teleportation. Helplessly, Kuroko quickly left and returned to the rear.
"No, she’s like she’s lost her mind, completely unreachable, and now she’s attracted a large group of creatures’ attention. I can’t even pull her out!"
"Then what should we do?!"
At this time, Misaka Mikoto and the others saw the vast number of Wild Gods and their faces changed.
"If this goes on, Miss Alisa will be in danger!"
"Forget it, I’ll handle it."
Seeing this, Fang Zheng shook his head, then vanished silently.
At this moment, Alisa was still fighting. She could no longer see the Wild God, but even so, she continued to wield her Divine Machine madly, slashing at every Wild God in sight without care. She was like a robot fueled by raging flames, wanting to kill every obstacle before her, find her foe, and destroy it!
"Bang!"
Alisa had just struck down a King Kong Wild God in front of her when a Ghost Face Wild God from behind collided with her and sent her flying to the ground. In front of her, another Wild God opened its mouth to devour this doorstep delicacy, only to see a sharp, massive blade shoot out, piercing the Wild God’s mouth and quickly transforming into a huge Gatling gun.
"Boom boom boom!!!"
The swiftly fired bullets pierced through the Wild God’s head, and Alisa pulled a bloody machine gun from the Wild God’s mouth, transforming it back into a Greatsword to slash at another Ghost Face Wild God nearby, cutting it in half.
"Splat!!!"
Blood splattered everywhere. Alisa was now covered head to toe in grime, her actions slowing, her steps faltering, but even so, she continued forward like a robot programmed with commands. Alisa was completely unaware that a Wild God behind her was leaping, opening a huge mouth toward her.
"Boom!!"
The next moment, the Wild God’s claw hit Alisa, pinning her to the ground. But before the Wild God could savor this hard-won meal, its massive body suddenly tilted and fell to the side.
"Whoa... what’s happening here?"
Fang Zheng retracted his Greatsword, shaking off the blood from the blade, looking at the unconscious Alisa on the ground, shaking his head. Then, he raised the Pitch Black Greatsword and stabbed it sharply into the ground.
Soon, furious crimson flames erupted from the ground, completely swallowing the army of Wild Gods before him.
When Misaka Mikoto and the others arrived, apart from the charred remains of the Wild God and Fang Zheng holding Alisa, there was nothing left here.
With such an unexpected incident, the group naturally didn’t linger and quickly hurried back to the Void Glorious Ship, however...
"Ah... no, I’m sorry! It wasn’t me, it wasn’t me... I’m sorry!!!"
Listening to the screams coming from the room, Misaka Mikoto and Saten Ruiko, along with others outside the door, had their hair standing on end.
"What on earth is going on?"
"I don’t know either..."
The girls gathered outside, clueless as they listened to the screams inside. After bringing Alisa back to the Void Glorious Ship, she quickly woke up. The group initially thought she would calm down a bit, but to everyone’s surprise, Alisa started shouting loudly as soon as she regained consciousness, leaving Fang Zheng no choice but to kick everyone else out.
"Reiko... I’m scared."
At this moment, Lei snuggled up to Reiko, gently tugging on her sleeve, while Reiko reached out, patting Lei’s head and holding her in her arms.
"Don’t be afraid, I’m here."
"Mm..."
Finally, after a while, the wailing and howling inside the room stopped. Soon, the door opened, and Fang Zheng came out with a frustrated expression.
"Mr. Fang Zheng, how is it?"
Seeing Fang Zheng come out, Saten Ruiko hurriedly asked.
"I used a sedative to put her to sleep for now. Honestly, this girl was usually so quiet, but when she lost it, it was really headache-inducing."
Fang Zheng was also frustrated; previously, Alisa was just not very talkative or communicative. But unexpectedly, when she went mad, she was completely out of control, leaving Fang Zheng speechless. He had initially hoped to calm her with his charisma, but in the end... he had to use a sedative.
"What’s really going on here?"
"From what I can see, I suspect it’s some kind of post-traumatic stress disorder."
"Psychological trauma?"
Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, the girls were somewhat surprised, while Fang Zheng shrugged.
"Of course, it’s not surprising."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng pointed out the window.
"Look, this isn’t the warm little nest you’re used to. This world is already on the brink of extinction. Food, water, medicine, there’s nothing, and you have to worry about creature attacks every day. Growing up in such a place, if there’s nothing abnormal about your spirit, that would truly be abnormal."
"Is that really... the case?"
"Of course, have you heard the story of Cannibal Chief? It speaks of famine when people had nothing to eat and were starving, so they swapped children to eat."
"...Ugh."
Hearing this, the girls’ faces changed.
"Is this... true?"
"That’s how it’s recorded in history, but whether it truly happened is unknown. In any case, the experiences of people in this world are unimaginable to you, and what they have gone through is beyond your imagination. In Academy City, it’s explainable, but for those living on this barren land... it’s a different story."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng spread his hands, while Feli frowned slightly.
"So what do we do now? With Alisa like this, should we send her back to Fenrir?"
"Sending her back in this state, what explanation would we have? I’ll see if I can stabilize her spirit first..."
Fang Zheng wasn’t going to send her back just like that; she was well when sent out, but then she returned insane? How could he possibly say that?
Hearing Fang Zheng speak, Misaka Mikoto’s expression changed slightly.
"Mr. Fang Zheng, you wouldn’t be thinking of asking that woman for help, would you?"
"Depends on the situation; if nothing else works, that’s an option."
Fang Zheng knew very well who Misaka Mikoto was referring to. Honestly, for issues related to mental and psychological matters, turning to "Psychological Grasp" was indeed quite appropriate, and Shihou Souki herself often did similar tasks, such as providing psychological counseling for children in care homes, which was her specialty.
But whether to let Shihou Souki know about this world... let’s see the situation first.
"In any case, leave this to me for now."
Thinking of this, Fang Zheng made a decision.
