The two arguing parties were a skinny and a chubby student. The skinny one struck first, throwing a punch at the robust male, who crossed his arms to block his chest. At the same time the skinny one landed his hit, a blue barrier suddenly appeared, stopping the skinny student’s further attack.
Then the robust male immediately seized the chance to counterattack the skinny one, but the skinny student’s speed was clearly much more agile. The robust male’s several punches were dodged by the skinny student, after which the skinny student crouched down and swept the robust male to the ground.
Failing consecutively seemed to make the robust male very upset. He stood up again and took out a strange metallic rod from his pocket, then forcefully flicked it.
"Restore!"
Accompanying his words, the metallic rod instantly extended, transforming into a long whip. Upon seeing this, the people watching around screamed.
"Is it Alchemical Steel!?"
"Are they Martial Artists?"
Yet the two did not stop there. The robust male swung the long whip in his hand fiercely at the skinny student. Though the skinny student easily dodged once more, the whip struck the wall, shattering it alongside the nearby glass.
Meanwhile, the skinny student also took out a long stick and clashed again with the robust male.
"Isn’t anyone going to do anything?"
Seeing this, Kuroko Shirai couldn’t help but frown. As a Discipline Committee Member, she had no tolerance for such public brawls. If this were Academy City, upon seeing such a thing, Kuroko Shirai would have pinned the two onto the wall with a wave of her hand.
But Kuroko Shirai knew her limits. Although she could be somewhat perverted in front of Misaka Mikoto, she was otherwise quite steady and prudent. After confirming this was another world, she refrained from acting rashly; after all, each place has its own rules, and as an outsider, it wasn’t convenient to interfere.
Unlike Misaka Mikoto......
"Sister Dear, please don’t act rashly."
"I know...."
Being stared at by Kuroko Shirai, Misaka Mikoto couldn’t easily make a move. She was actually itching to try, but since Kuroko Shirai explained clearly, Misaka Mikoto wouldn’t fail to understand... though her hands still felt itchy.
At this moment, the group of three standing not far from them also started discussing.
"If they are Martial Artists, urban police can’t intervene!"
"I’ll go get seniors from the Martial Arts Department!"
Soon, one person turned and left, while the other two hurriedly retreated.
By this time, the battle between the two students expanded in range, even affecting the crowd watching around. Here, not only were there students from the Martial Arts Department, but also from the General Studies Department, unaccustomed to such a scene. Seeing the fight coming closer, they screamed and fled in all directions.
At this point, Fang Zheng and others saw a black-haired girl in General Studies uniform hurrying, seemingly intent on returning to the teaching building for shelter. However, just then, the robust male wielded the long whip again, getting deflected by the skinny student, but neither noticed the whip being inadvertently directed towards the black-haired girl. She was too focused on the two to perceive the impending danger!
"Watch out!!"
Seeing this, Misaka Mikoto urgently yelled, but perhaps due to luck, the black-haired girl suddenly stumbled at her feet, falling to the ground, allowing the whip to pass over her head and then coil around the porch column.
"Boom!!"
However, the whip was evidently not as soft as it seemed. As it hit the column, the sturdy and solid-looking pillar suddenly shattered, soon causing the entire porch to collapse!
Not good!
"Kuroko!"
"Leave it to me!"
Seeing this, Kuroko Shirai stopped hesitating. Although, rationally, she shouldn’t meddle in another school’s affairs, letting people die without doing anything would indeed be problematic!
The next moment, Kuroko Shirai’s silhouette vanished, reappearing beside the black-haired girl, pressing her down. Then they both disappeared into the collapsing porch.
"Whoa!"
Seeing this, the surrounding crowd gasped in astonishment, and the two blameworthy students from the Martial Arts Department also stood dumbfounded. They knew they were merely bullying and fighting, never expecting it would almost lead to a fatality. Frightened, they didn’t know what to do, but luckily, just when everyone was clueless, there was a flash before their eyes and Kuroko Shirai along with the black-haired girl reappeared unharmed in front of them.
"What’s going on?!"
At this point, everyone present stared in disbelief, their jaws almost hitting the floor. This scene was too shocking; seemingly no one was there a moment ago, yet now appeared two people, whom they saw getting buried under the collapsed porch!
This was the difference brought about by varying cultural features. In Academy City, at least people knew about Space Power Users; having seen the phenomenon, they wouldn’t pay much mind. But in this world, such instant movement capabilities did not exist, and though people could use their power for momentary acceleration, it was a whole different matter from instantaneous teleportation.
And carrying someone along in teleportation... was even more unimaginable.
"Please be mindful of your surroundings."
After rescuing the victim, Kuroko Shirai’s Discipline Committee Member impulse flared. Already annoyed by public fighting, the near-fatal incident didn’t help. She wouldn’t hold back.
"In crowded places like this, please refrain from pointless conflicts. Should an innocent get involved, an apology won’t suffice......"
Kuroko Shirai sternly lectured the two martial artists, and despite their disgruntled expressions, they obediently remained silent. After all, they almost caused a fatal accident, certainly not a laughable matter. Even if Kuroko Shirai seemed much younger, they couldn’t argue.
"Stop it!!"
Just as Kuroko Shirai admonished the two troublemakers, a roar echoed, and the crowd saw several Martial Arts Department students running over. Seeing them, Kuroko Shirai stepped aside.
"What happened? You, as freshmen, how could you have a conflict here?"
This student clearly had a fiery temper, scolding the pair harshly as they arrived, while Kuroko Shirai and Misaka Mikoto observed, decided everything was settled, and intended to leave.
At this moment, the previously rescued black-haired girl and her two friends approached.
"Well... Thank you for your help."
"You’re welcome, it was nothing."
Kuroko Shirai casually replied. For her, it was truly effortless, and as a Discipline Committee Member, saving people wasn’t new; she was long accustomed.
"You aren’t students from this Academy City, are you?"
"We’re from another place, so......"
Seeing Fang Zheng gesturing, Kuroko Shirai nodded.
"Then, we take our leave."
Saying this, Kuroko Shirai pulled Misaka Mikoto, and the two followed Fang Zheng, turning to leave.
When the blonde woman over there finished reprimanding the two and turned around to find someone, Fang Zheng had already left with Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai.
"How is it? How do you feel now?"
Back in the room arranged by Feli for him, Fang Zheng closed the door, grinning as he looked at the two and asked. Misaka Mikoto frowned, thinking for a while.
"Well, the people here seem to have quite a temper, but their abilities don’t seem particularly strong?"
"Academy City only has seven LV5s, what are you expecting?"
Fang Zheng glanced at Misaka Mikoto speechlessly, only then realizing that Misaka Mikoto, just like Ryougi Shiki, is a battle freak, itching for a fight when idle...
On the contrary, Kuroko took a longer time to think, and after a while, she finally asked.
"Mr. Fang Zheng, what exactly are we supposed to do in this world?"
"Good question."
Fang Zheng clapped his hands, though Kuroko Shirai’s ability isn’t as strong as Misaka Mikoto’s, her broader perspective is far superior, while the latter is still thinking of finding a fight.
"What do you think, if we were to solve the problems of this world, what would be a good approach?"
"Hmm..."
Fang Zheng had already explained the background of this world to them previously, and now Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai started contemplating. Then Misaka Mikoto’s eyes lit up.
"Right, the reason these people live on this mobile city is because of those creatures, right? So if we can eliminate all the creatures, wouldn’t they be able to return to normal life?"
"Sister dear, your idea is too naive."
This time, without waiting for Fang Zheng to deny it, Kuroko jumped in first.
"Not to mention how many of those creatures exist in this world, just the fact that these people are using mobile cities to avoid creatures indicates that the number of creatures far exceeds that of humans. We don’t even know how many humans and creatures are left here, or when it can be completely eradicated."
"Then what do you suggest? Should we send them to our world? According to Mr. Fang Zheng, the land in this world is contaminated, and people here can’t survive like this."
"You better not think about this."
Fang Zheng finally spoke up.
"Let me tell you a story. In fact, before coming to your world, I went to another world, and that world..."
While speaking, Fang Zheng detailed the situation of Zero’s World to Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai, and after his narration, both were stunned.
"So you’re saying... five thousand years ago, our world’s Raw Gem ability users were persecuted by Non-Ability Users, opened a gate to another world, and established their own kingdom there? Later, five thousand years after that world was on the brink of collapse, so they wanted to come back and invade?"
Misaka Mikoto was completely incredulous, unable to imagine her world repeatedly teetering on the brink of a great war.
"Exactly."
"Was that world... amazing?"
"No, considering overall civilization standards, that world was quite poor, basically medieval level, as religion hindered its development... But their ability system was unique, and there were lethal individuals capable of manual nuclear creations."
"Nuclear missile?!"
At this point, Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai were both shocked.
"Yes, now you see how strong they are."
Fang Zheng also chuckled. In his eyes, Megumin and Louise were both capable of manual nuclear creations, the difference being the former is a tactical nuclear weapon and the latter is a strategic one. Also, their frequency varies, Megumin can release Burst Magic once a day, while Louise has a longer cooldown, requiring several months to launch just once.
However, if Louise fired one, it could destroy half of Academy City, among the seven LV5s, perhaps only Accelerator and Imperial Supervisor could escape unharmed.
Fortunately, with Red Ponytail’s guidance, the crisis in that world was resolved, so there was no longer a plan to invade Earth.
Faced with this news, Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai found it difficult to digest, but now Misaka Mikoto didn’t dare propose any random ideas.
"Then that’s all for today. You two should return to Academy City first. Tomorrow, I’ll officially leave this city and head to another mobile city, at which point you should have a better understanding of the current situation."
Fang Zheng intends to recruit Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai into his organization, naturally needing to instruct and assess them. Seeing that both have already pondered, he refrained from saying much, quickly opening a teleportation gate and bringing them back to Academy City.
Meanwhile, as Fang Zheng escorted the two back, elsewhere, a conversation was unfolding.
"Are you certain?"
The silver-haired youth asked in a low voice, gazing at the man in front of him. This was the student council president who had met Fang Zheng earlier in the day, Kalian Ross.
"Yes, President, I saw it clearly."
Responding to Kalian’s inquiry, the burly man across from him nodded quickly. If Misaka Mikoto and Kuroko Shirai were here, they would immediately recognize the burly man and his tall, skinny companion as the two who fought during a conflict at school this afternoon. Now, though both were a mess, their previous fierce appearances of fighting to the death were gone.
"That girl was about to be pinned down, then that little twin-tailed girl suddenly appeared beside her, reached out to press her hand on the opponent, and then they both instantly disappeared!"
"Can you confirm it wasn’t Slashing Power or Nen Aura?"
"I didn’t sense any signs of Slashing Power activation, and it didn’t look like Nen Aura..."
"I understand."
Upon hearing this, Kalian squinted and nodded at the two.
"You both may leave, remember, don’t tell anyone about this."
"Yes, President."
After speaking, they turned to leave, while Kalian stared at their departing figures, muttering under his breath.
"It seems we have some extraordinary guests here..."
Kalian didn’t notice that at this moment, Feli was silently watching him from a window on the second floor, showing a look of disgust.
"Hmph."
With a soft hum, the silver-haired girl turned and left.
