Regarding Archbishop Laura, Fang Zheng isn’t particularly familiar. Based on what he saw in the animation, the impression Archbishop Laura left on Fang Zheng was that of a cunning and shameless character.
But Fang Zheng never expected this bastard would be so shameless!
Damn, how can someone be so shameless?
Intagura never owed me any salary before. How dare you not pay? Do you really think you’re the boss just because you owe money? Do you think I can’t deal with you?!
Fang Zheng sat down with a stern face, then opened his digital terminal, reached out to tap a few times, then flicked a piece of paper onto the table, scanned it with the terminal, picked up a pen, and signed his name.
Then Fang Zheng waved his hand, and the paper floated over to Tsuchimikado’s hand.
"What’s this?"
Tsuchimikado took the paper in confusion; he initially thought it might be a letter from Fang Zheng, but there was no envelope, and it didn’t seem to be anything important... However, once he saw the information on the paper, Tsuchimikado was dumbfounded. He widened his eyes, looking at the words as if he couldn’t believe them. The disbelief was so intense that Tsuchimikado suspected he might be dreaming.
"Is this a receipt?"
"Correct."
Fang Zheng chuckled, putting down the pen.
"Initially, I planned to wait for you to deliver it yourselves, which would seem more sincere. But since you’re unwilling to pay, I took it myself."
"This... ten hundred thousand... What is this...?"
"Oh, I transferred money for Old Buddha’s garden repairs."
Faced with Fang Zheng’s inexplicable words, Stiyl and Kanzaki Kaori hadn’t reacted yet. However, Tsuchimikado was shocked and jumped up.
"You took Her Majesty the Queen’s money?!"
"What?"
Upon hearing Tsuchimikado’s words, Stiyl and Kanzaki Kaori stared dumbfounded at Fang Zheng, not knowing what to say.
"Yes, forty million pounds. I’ve already issued receipts for Stiyl and Kanzaki Kaori’s ransom, and Index’s food expenses. Since the Necessarius Church keeps claiming they’re broke, I decided to directly find the Queen for money. After all, it’s only right to repay debts with money, no matter where it is!"
Is this what you call reason?!
Tsuchimikado trembled with disbelief, at a loss for words. You detained our people and held them hostage demanding money, yet now it sounds like the Necessarius Church owes you instead...
Moreover, it’s forty million pounds! The entire Royal Family’s expenditure last year was less than ninety million; you took nearly half!
Tsuchimikado could already imagine the Highest Bishop fainting upon hearing the news.
But what he could not fathom was...
"Dare you do this, don’t you fear trouble?"
Indeed, this was Tsuchimikado’s biggest confusion. Whether it’s the Magic Side or Science Side, they generally maintain a distance from ruling authorities and won’t casually provoke them. However, Fang Zheng brazenly hacked into the Royal Bank, stole money, and even issued a receipt. Such an affront, would the British Royal Family tolerate it?
Isn’t Fang Zheng worried about repercussions?
"Just a third-rate small country, nothing to fear."
Facing Tsuchimikado’s question, Fang Zheng sneered.
"The Sun Never Sets is long done for; the UK can’t even keep Northern Ireland and Scotland. If they’re not afraid of dying, come and find trouble with me. Forget the UK, even if America dares to bother me, I’ll send them packing!"
Then Fang Zheng waved his hand.
"Alright, I got the money; you can leave now. If you’re not gone in ten minutes, you’ll stay as hostages again, and I’ll demand money from the Puritanism again..."
"We’ll leave immediately."
Tsuchimikado didn’t hesitate to turn around and leave; Kanzaki Kaori is a Saint, Stiyl is the ace of English Puritanism, they have a certain value. But Tsuchimikado himself is just a spy; English Puritanism won’t care about his life. If he gets left behind by Fang Zheng, he’s definitely done for.
"Wait, what about Index?"
Kanzaki Kaori quickly asked, and this time, Tsuchimikado gave a definite answer.
"Order from English Puritanism, Index must stay in Academy City."
"This..."
Kanzaki Kaori couldn’t help but feel a bit reluctant. After all, she grew closer to Index during this period. If it wasn’t for the insane 007 working schedule, Kanzaki Kaori would wish to stay. But now...
"Let’s go; there will be no danger for her here."
Stiyl was quite open-minded about it. Here, Index was clearly very happy. She had become good friends with the rescued children, and this place... frankly speaking, Fang Zheng’s power left quite a deep impression on Stiyl. If anyone could snatch people from Fang Zheng, then it’s likely that neither Stiyl nor Kanzaki Kaori could stop them.
Not to mention that after the previous incident, realizing that Index’s memory loss was caused by English Puritanism’s meddling, neither Stiyl nor Kanzaki Kaori felt safe sending Index back.
In contrast, staying here is actually safer.
"Please let me say goodbye to the child."
"No problem."
Fang Zheng didn’t mind giving this bit of time.
Stiyl and Kanzaki Kaori’s departure didn’t make Index particularly sad, especially since she had lost her memories of the two. Although both parties had some interaction during this time, Index still remembered the incident when they chased her all over the streets, so she remained somewhat wary of them.
Therefore, when the two said goodbye to Index, she felt a bit surprised, but didn’t pay much heed to it. She was currently well-fed and well-hydrated at the research institute, had Ruiko by her side, and also had friends among Mokuyama Haruo’s students, which made her quite happy.
Thus, another day came to an end.
Ruiko took Index home to sleep, while Meiyin moved back to her own home—after revealing her identity to her parents, Meiyin no longer needed to pretend, and her parents were immensely grateful to Fang Zheng. As for Mel, she also moved back to her family home. Fang Zheng didn’t bother making excuses, he straightforwardly told Mel’s parents that he would be abroad for two or three years, left funds for Mel’s living expenses, then just packed up and left.
Because of this, Riko was no longer living over there, she spent most of her time staying in the dormitory, and sometimes Frenda would crash there too—it was very strict to get in and out of Academy City, and Frenda was the only one who could come and go freely.
Thus, Fang Zheng simply slept in the research institute... as it was more convenient.
However, just as Fang Zheng brushed his teeth, washed, and was about to head to bed with the little kitten, his personal terminal suddenly emitted a rapid alarm sound.
"Yo? Who’s coming to cause trouble this late at night?"
Putting down the little kitten in his arms, Fang Zheng smirked and opened his personal terminal. Soon, he saw large trucks with the letters MRA appear from both sides of the street, blocking the road exit. Then, people wearing operational power suits emerged from the trucks. They first raised barriers and put up signs saying "Construction in progress, please detour," effectively sealing the entire roadway—since it was already late at night and most people were asleep, their actions didn’t attract much attention.
Well, pretty professional.
Fang Zheng chuckled lightly, and then saw a woman dressed in purple power armor step out of the vehicle, speaking to the others... was this not that old woman Tyrestina?
Knew you couldn’t let go of your crafty ambitions, damn bastard.
Fang Zheng reached out and petted the little kitten, then stood up, yawned, and slowly got dressed before walking out of the bedroom, where Ram and Rem were already waiting outside.
"Lord Fang Zheng, outside..."
"It’s no big deal."
Fang Zheng reached out to pet Ram’s head, then petted Rem’s head.
"Alright, you’re tired too, go rest. I’ll take care of those people outside."
"Yes, Lord Fang Zheng."
Hearing what Fang Zheng said, Ram and Rem exchanged glances, didn’t say much more, obediently nodded, and returned to their rooms, while Fang Zheng leisurely strolled out of the research institute onto the street...
"Clang!!"
Almost the moment Fang Zheng stepped out of the entrance, dozens of soldiers in power armor raised their weapons, aiming at him.
"Didn’t expect it, did you, Mr. Fang Zheng? We meet again."
Standing behind the soldiers, Tyrestina’s expression could be described as smug.
"Indeed, I didn’t expect you to be this foolish, deliberately coming here to meet your end... fine, looks like Mokuhara Genki is on his last legs too, let’s start with you then."
"Hahaha."
Tyrestina laughed out loud upon hearing Fang Zheng’s words.
"Don’t think that just because you have a good relationship with Railgun, you can talk big here. You have no idea of Academy City’s power! Not to mention, you dared insult my grandfather... I won’t let you off! Men, seize him!"
As she spoke, Tyrestina waved her hand, and soon soldiers stepped forward with their weapons, moving towards Fang Zheng, while Tyrestina raised her head, looking at Fang Zheng smugly.
"This area is locked down, and you can’t contact anyone. I want to see what you can do."
"What to do?"
Facing Tyrestina’s inquiry, Fang Zheng chuckled.
"Let’s do it this way."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng raised his hand.
"Sealing."
