It felt like a dream.
Everyone stared blankly at the red-haired girl who had suddenly appeared in front of them, speechless, with mouths agape, not knowing what to say. For a moment, it seemed even the air had frozen.
"Hey, hey, Louise!"
After a moment, a tanned-skinned, explosively built girl hastily called out, and upon hearing her shout, the pink-haired girl came back to her senses, quickly stood up, and nodded firmly.
"I—I’m your master..."
Although she said this, it was clear the girl lacked confidence. However, she seemed to notice the gazes of others and bit her teeth hard, then quickly stepped forward to stand before the red ponytail.
"My name is Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière! May the assembled power of the five elements grant her a blessing and make her my familiar!"
After finishing this sentence, Louise closed her eyes and then moved closer to the red ponytail.
Just as the red ponytail was puzzled about what she was going to do, she saw Louise kiss her lips.
It happened in an instant.
The next moment, the red ponytail felt a sudden surge of heat within her body, followed by a power quickly condensing on her right hand, forming a unique rune.
Is this... a fragment of the Order Core?
Feeling the power contained within, the red ponytail was taken aback. Although it’s a bit different, it’s very similar to the Power of Order Fang Zheng felt from the Golden Fairy.
So does that mean... this is a remnant of the Order Core after it broke?
If that’s the case... then it’s a good thing!
"What’s your name?"
At this moment, the voice of the girl in front brought the red ponytail, who was lost in thought, back to reality.
Come to think of it, her voice is also similar to Shana’s.
Right.
Thinking of this, the red ponytail smiled slightly.
"Just call me... SABER."
After this, the red ponytail took some time to understand her current situation. To her surprise, this continent was not the world where Fang Zheng originally resided, meaning this continent did not have Lina Inverse or the Re-Estize Kingdom or Lugnica... to put it simply, this was Another World.
But the red ponytail was not particularly surprised by this.
She remembered clearly that in the Bumbling Wizard, the world’s background was once explained. According to Lina Inverse, this world is a giant plate supported by the Sea of Chaos, and in the original Bumbling Wizard world, there were several worlds like this, with Lina Inverse’s world being just one of the "plates".
Moreover, Emilia and Parker also mentioned that the edge of this world is a huge waterfall, also known as the Great Waterfall. And if she remembered correctly, the knight that the woman named Priscilla in the Royal Selection Candidate had also claimed to be from another world outside the Great Waterfall. If that’s the case, it confirms that Lina Inverse’s background setting is true and reliable.
That being said, there seems to be an unusually high number of transmigrators in this world, is this also the influence of Chaos? After all, in other worlds, she barely saw any transmigrators. Yet after arriving at this coordinate point, transmigrators appear one after another.
But speaking of which, this is the world of The Familiar of Zero...
The red ponytail knew a little about this world because she had watched the anime before, although she only managed to endure one episode before dropping it. The reason was simple: the male protagonist of The Familiar of Zero was always bossed around by the female protagonist, treated like a dog, and whipped, which was very unpleasant to watch. Perhaps the Japanese liked this sort of thing, but Fang Zheng at the time had no interest in it.
Speaking of which, similar themes were popular at that time, like "My Sassy Girl"... all of that stuff.
But at that time, time-travel dramas were also popular, like "Record of Seeking Qin" and "Time Travel Love", which is why Fang Zheng decided to check out The Familiar of Zero only to drop it after one episode... What was so interesting about a man being bossed around and whipped by a girl?
He originally thought it would be a power fantasy like "Record of Seeking Qin", but it turned out to be more of that Japanese peculiar crazy stuff.
But speaking of which, Shana’s voice is quite recognizable, Fang Zheng has traveled through so many worlds and still frequently encounters people with voices similar to Shana. For instance, Alisa in the Nanoha World, the summoned vampire, Minase Iori in the World of Love, and Louise in this world...
This can’t just be a coincidence, can it?
But it’s no big deal anyways.
Thinking of this, the red ponytail opened her eyes, looking at Louise sleeping beside her. Come to think of it, in the anime, the unlucky guy was directly driven to sleep on straw in the corner by Louise, but she was quite respectful to her, at least sleeping on the same bed... well, it’s not bad.
The red ponytail wasn’t worried that she’d be treated like the idiot in the anime, she’s not one of those Japanese otakus, softening at the knees when seeing a woman. If the kid dares to throw a tantrum at her... heh heh heh, Shana is a precedent after all.
Speaking of which, it’s daytime already.
Glancing out the window, the red ponytail shook her head and then sat up. Yesterday, after Louise summoned her, they only exchanged names, then Louise gave her a tour of the entire academy, and the red ponytail roughly understood the situation of the world. Louise’s place was similar to Hogwarts—a Magic School, and the wands the students used were not much different from those at Hogwarts... really, it’s hard to say who copied whom.
"Louise, time to get up."
At this thought, the red ponytail reached out and nudged Louise beside her.
"Ugh..."
Hearing the red ponytail’s voice, Louise groggily opened her eyes, yawned, and then, when seeing the red ponytail, she was taken aback.
"Whoa! Who are you?!"
"...Not fully awake yet?"
"Oh, right, you’re SABER..."
Hearing the red ponytail’s helpless answer, Louise finally reacted, lowering her head somewhat embarrassedly. To be honest, at that time she was just in a moment of anger, she shouted the summoning Spell Text randomly, originally thinking it would end in failure as usual, and never expected to actually summon a familiar.
This instead left Louise somewhat at a loss, like winning the grand prize in a lottery when you thought it was impossible, not even knowing how to use it.
All in all, she just had to bring her back to her room and think of a plan.
She ended up falling asleep because she was too tired.
"Anyway, wash up and have breakfast first, I’ll take you to the dining hall."
Speaking hastily while hurriedly getting up from bed, Louise said, and the red ponytail didn’t say anything, just nodded.
Ugh... what should I do?!
After washing up and changing clothes, Louise led the Red Ponytail towards the dining hall, her mind in disarray. Everyone else had summoned animal familiars, so there was nothing to it; it was like taking care of stray cats or dogs, at most just needing to pay attention to feeding them. But she had summoned a person... and it seemed to be a rather formidable girl, which left Louise a bit at a loss.
Come to think of it, those rumors must have already spread throughout the academy.
As she reached the entrance to the dining hall, Louise felt a bit nervous, but she took a deep breath, then pushed the door open and walked in.
"........!"
Almost instantly, the somewhat noisy dining hall fell silent, everyone turning their heads to look at Louise and the Red Ponytail behind her.
"Is that the familiar the ’Louise the Zero’ summoned?"
"She looks so cute...!"
"Could she be Louise’s younger sister...?"
Hmph hmph...
Feeling the gazes from all around, Louise proudly puffed out her chest. Although she had never been popular in this academy, at least now she had summoned such a cute familiar!
On the other hand, the Red Ponytail felt a bit frustrated.
It wasn’t because of the eyes from every direction, but because of her height...
Mind you, Louise was considered short among these people at one and a half meters tall.
Yet the Red Ponytail’s height, including her hair accessory, didn’t even reach one meter thirty...
So when the two walked together, they gave the impression of being sisters more than anything else.
"Sit next to me. After we finish eating, you’ll go to class with me."
Looking at the Red Ponytail beside her, Louise hesitated for a moment but decided that keeping her close was more reassuring. It wasn’t that Louise did it intentionally; she just felt that the way these classmates looked at the Red Ponytail was uncomfortable—some boys even had sparkling eyes, exuding a dangerous, criminal aura. While she knew these people were nobility and wouldn’t act out, her familiar was, after all, still a child (in Louise’s eyes). What if someone tried to abduct her?
"Alright."
Hearing Louise’s instruction, the Red Ponytail nodded. She wasn’t wearing her previous battle attire at the moment but rather Louise’s old school uniform—which, she had to admit, fit her quite well.
"Hey! Louise the Zero!"
But at that moment, suddenly, a sharp voice rang out. Hearing it, Louise turned her head in annoyance and saw a young boy glaring at her.
"Who are you?"
"Haven’t you heard of me? I’m the great and wild Beiye!"
... What nonsense?
Upon hearing this introduction, the Red Ponytail almost spat out her drink.
Beiye? Wild? What kind of name is that, are these people all in the throes of a middle school syndrome—oh, it seems they are at that age.
"What do you want?"
"I’m asking, is that little girl really the familiar you summoned?"
The self-proclaimed Beiye said this while pointing at the Red Ponytail.
"Are you doubting me?"
"Of course, because you’re Louise the Zero! Everyone knows you fail at magic, so how could you summon a familiar? And a human one at that? You didn’t just bring out a maid or a sister of yours and pretend she’s a familiar, did you?"
"Ridiculous! I did not!"
Hearing this, Louise instantly widened her eyes.
"My teachers and classmates can all testify!"
"But if you say she’s a familiar, does she have any combat capabilities?"
Beiye’s question wasn’t unfounded, because at first glance, the Red Ponytail looked just like an ordinary cute little girl.
Nobody would believe she had any combat abilities.
"Could it be her skill is only making your bed?"
Hearing this, Louise grew even more furious and stood up.
"Utter nonsense! She’s not my sister, and I’m the youngest daughter of the Elival family, so how could I have another sister?"
"Who knows? Maybe she’s a child your father had outside with a mistress..."
"Nonsense!"
Upon hearing this, Louise completely lost it... Well, that was more like the Louise she knew.
"How dare you insult the honor of the Elival family! I challenge you to a duel!"
"Fine, but I require your familiar to participate!"
"Eh?"
Louise paused upon hearing Beiye’s condition.
"Why?"
"Because a familiar is the mage’s partner. If they can’t fight together, then what’s the point? Since you say she’s a familiar, she must be able to fight, right?"
"Of course!"
Saying this, Louise glanced cautiously at the Red Ponytail, who nodded slightly to her. With the Red Ponytail’s response, Louise once more puffed out her chest and lifted her chin.
"Alright, no problem! Let me show you just how amazing my familiar is!"
