Star Realm is boundless.
Few can clearly explain what the Star Realm truly represents. It is the gathering of countless beings’ consciousness, a sea of spirit, and the reflection of the universe. But at least one thing is certain, the scenery in the Star Realm is far more beautiful than that of the universe.
At least, in the universe, you won’t see grasslands floating in the air or waterfalls thousands of meters long.
The Star Realm can also be described as a large garbage dump. Fang Zheng even saw a Mage Tower that had been blown to bits and left with only half... wondering what fate its owner encountered.
"I must remind you, guest, the road to other worlds is not so easy to travel currently."
Beside Fang Zheng, the Crystal Head was also tirelessly introducing.
"Generally, we would recommend guests go through Mark City. As long as you have a suitable key, you can go anywhere from there. But unfortunately, not long ago, Mark City broke out in a battle, a powerful being clashed with Lady Ningjing of Mark City, destroying half of it... Currently, the entire Mark City is under lockdown, strictly prohibiting outsiders from entering, so we might have to take some detours..."
"I just hope the detour doesn’t take too much time."
Fang Zheng looked at the void ahead, frowned, but soon relaxed his expression.
"Well, all in all... let’s take a good rest first, and then we’ll discuss what to do next."
With Fang Zheng’s words, everyone immediately dispersed, each going about their own business. Sora pulled Touma to the balcony to enjoy the view outside—Star Realm is not the universe, there’s no such thing as a vacuum here. In fact, if you wish, you can traverse to anywhere you want using your body without any vessel.
As a side note, in the Star Realm, your speed depends on your soul and intelligence.
Simply put, the higher the intelligence, the faster the speed.
The converse is also true...
For Illya, Little Hei, and Atalanta, this place was like their Hawaii beach. As Little Hei said, even if they did nothing but stand there, they could feel the warm spirit and soul aura blowing from the Star Realm’s wind, just like basking in the sun on the beach, utterly soothing.
So they really went to the platform to bask in this "sun."
"Uh... is this really okay?"
Only Neflen and Katori remained in place, as they were new and still a little uneasy. Perhaps Neflen was used to staying by Fang Zheng’s side, while Katori... she just wasn’t used to the feeling of letting go.
"It’s fine, Iona and the others will monitor the surroundings and will notify you directly if there’s anything. You can go rest now too. This journey... who knows how long it might take."
Listening to Fang Zheng, Katori relaxed a lot and then returned to her room to rest. Meanwhile, Fang Zheng casually pulled out a personal terminal and started drafting a new plan. Neflen still lay like a cat on the sofa next to him, closing her eyes.
The trouble came even earlier than expected.
"Report to the Commander! We have unknown psionic wave entities approaching!"
As soon as Iona’s words fell, dozens of figures emitting a faint glow suddenly appeared in their sight—it’s a very peculiar phenomenon because by visual distance, nothing should appear so close only to be discovered then. Moreover, there were no signs of teleportation, as if these people suddenly popped out of the void.
This is, however, a common occurrence in the Star Realm. Here, your vision cannot grasp direction or space, only your soul and intelligence can explore the infinite boundaries.
Faced with these sudden intruders, the Fleet Girls reacted swiftly, immediately activating the Protective Barrier and Klein Field, pointing the dark cannon barrels at the uninvited guests. And these intruders spread out quickly at angles defying physical laws, blocking their way.
At this moment, Fang Zheng also saw the true appearance of these uninvited guests.
They were humanoid creatures, looking similar to humans but without noses, with triangular ears. They wore intricate silver-white armor with a massive Silver Sword strapped to their backs.
"Ah, it’s the Geese Yankees. Seems like we have trouble."
Crystal Head also provided the answer at this point.
"It’s them."
Upon hearing Crystal Head’s introduction, Fang Zheng frowned a bit. Before coming to the Star Realm, he had read many records about it at the White Tower, and the Geese Yankees were among them. They were notorious pirates of the Star Realm, the most infamous race. Their favorite activity was plundering the wealth of other beings to enrich their arsenal.
Now it seems they’ve set their sights on us.
Fang Zheng scrutinized this group of Geese Yankees, and they were also observing this mysterious metal fleet. They didn’t show a particularly surprised expression at the appearance of this fleet, which was quite normal. Although Fang Zheng’s Azure Fleet had considerable strength, there are numerous gigantic Star Realm Behemoths in the Star Realm, some even as big as a planet, making this fleet not so exceptional by comparison.
But even so, they didn’t let their guard down.
"You are blocking the road to our city’s path, traveler."
One Geese Yankee opened his mouth, his voice echoing in everyone’s ears. This is the unique psionic ability of the Geese Yankees, one of their most powerful weapons.
"If you are here unintentionally, then choose another direction. In the starry void realm, there are countless choices for you."
"What should we do?"
At this point, others had returned to Fang Zheng’s side, waiting for his decision, while Fang Zheng pondered for a moment, then glanced at the Crystal Head.
"What’s your opinion?"
"This is the Star Realm."
The Crystal Head gave its response.
"Willpower determines reality, intuition surpasses everything."
Then the answer is simple.
"We will not yield."
Fang Zheng spoke decisively.
"This is the route of our Azure Fleet; it’s you who should have made way earlier."
"........."
Hearing Fang Zheng’s response, the Geese Yankees did not say much more. Soon, everyone saw them turn around and swiftly disappear into the void.
"Isn’t this... not so good?"
After listening to both sides, Touma tugged on Fang Zheng’s sleeve and whispered.
"They asked us to change places, so why not change direction instead of clashing with them?"
"This time they ask us to change direction; next time, they’ll dare to take our lives."
Fang Zheng shook his head.
"The Geese Yankees are space bandits, and they’re not to be trifled with. Besides, this isn’t their territory, so why should we make way?"
"But..."
"It’s okay, at most it’s just a fight..."
Fang Zheng patted Touma on the shoulder, indicating for her to rest easy.
"A mere bunch of Geese Yankees aren’t worth our concern."
Soon, not long after, as the fleet continued to move forward, a gigantic Star Realm Fortress appeared before them. It looked like a massive fortress made of stone. From a distance, there was nothing atop it, no people, no life, just like a dead silent city.
"They didn’t move aside."
Seeing this, Fang Zheng raised an eyebrow, and then a golden radiance flashed through his eyes.
"Everyone, be ready, fire at will!"
"But the enemy hasn’t attacked yet..."
"I saw them attacking."
Facing Katori’s doubt, Fang Zheng pointed to his own eyes. As a Prophet Mage and Time Dragon, he could easily foresee future events. In fact, Fang Zheng already saw the neatly lined Geese Yankees soldiers on that square, and the giant crossbow carts already arranged atop the walls.
Just wait another minute, once the fleet enters their firing range, these guys will immediately open fire.
So... of course, it’s better to strike first!
The so-called Prophet Mage is knowing you’ll hit me, so I should hit you first!
"Attack!"
With Fang Zheng’s command, dozens of light beams shot out, streaking across the starry sky towards the fortress in front of them.
Almost simultaneously, crossbow arrows that had flown out suddenly emerged from the other side.
Thus began the first round of exchanges between the two sides, without warning.
The Azure Fleet’s warships unleashed beams of light that struck the outer walls of the fortress, but these beams were swiftly blocked by the silver-white psionic barrier enveloping the entire fortress.
Once again proving that any race traveling through the Star Realm is nothing to be trifled with.
The psionic arrows shot from the fortress were equally formidable. If they were ordinary arrows, they couldn’t possibly penetrate the fleet’s defenses. But these psionic arrows were different; they were designed to combat Star Realm Behemoths. Giant arrows, like those fired from medieval crossbows, whistled through the air, striking the Klein Field of the warships, causing violent explosions. The surging void energy frantically consumed the defenses of the Klein Field, creating ripples.
Soon, groups of Geese Yankees soldiers quickly appeared, swarming like fish in the sea, rushing towards the Azure Fleet. Simultaneously, the Unicorn activated its destruction mode, and hundreds of drone fighters were instantly launched, forming battle formations and charging the enemy ahead.
"Heh, they’re certainly not coming with good intentions."
Seeing this, Fang Zheng let out a soft scoff, and besides Touma, the others remained silent. They weren’t fools; just from the swift response of the Geese Yankees, it was evident that the other side was well-prepared. It was just that Fang Zheng’s decision to attack came a moment earlier than theirs.
Otherwise, they would have been ambushed by now.
"Activate the Doomsday Weapon, blow that fortress away, and leave the rest of the enemies to you."
Soon, Fang Zheng issued another command.
