As for how Her Majesty the Queen wishes to handle the aftermath, Fang Zheng couldn’t care less. After tossing this mess to her, he simply patted his backside and walked away.
After all, for him, killing a mere king was just a trivial matter; the most important task was to fight the tides. So after leaving the King’s City, Fang Zheng waved his hand and summoned the Mage’s Mansion, bringing everyone inside and starting a meeting in the living room.
"Alright, let’s comprehensively review the information we have."
Fang Zheng pressed his personal terminal, and soon, a screen appeared before everyone.
"This is the information we know so far: Only the Hourglass of the Dragon can give a specific time for when the waves will arrive, and the timing is random. When the tides come, Demon Creatures will fall from the sky... You all know that, right?"
Upon hearing this, Raphtalia, Liphana, Filo, and Shana all nodded.
"Well, there are several issues that need to be addressed next."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng extended a finger.
"First, why can the Hourglass of the Dragon accurately predict the arrival of the waves? Of course, predicting a particular day isn’t impossible, but down to every minute and second... it’s a bit too incredible."
Upon hearing this, everyone furrowed their brows, pondering, but... clearly, they didn’t have any clues.
"Second, where exactly do the Demon Creatures in the tides come from?"
Fang Zheng extended another finger.
"Based on the previous two battles, these Demon Creatures are obviously not indigenous to this world. Moreover, their actions appear to be orderly. According to the previous two tides, a BOSS appears in each tide, and only by killing the BOSS will the tide disappear. So there’s definitely some connection between these Demon Creatures and the tides."
"Third, regarding the Four Sacred Heroes system."
Fang Zheng extended a third finger.
"According to the previous statement from the Enchanted Tool holder, apart from this world, there are many other worlds, but it seems every world has Enchanted Tools and Four Sacred Heroes. Meaning, despite the myriad worlds here having different cultures, civilizations, and languages, they all use the same system."
"So, Master, are the Heroes from those Another Worlds our allies? After all, our common enemy is the tides, right?"
Hearing this, Liphana raised her hand curiously and asked, to which Fang Zheng shook his head.
"It’s hard to say. You also heard what those people said; the tides are a phenomenon caused by two Another Worlds approaching, colliding, and eventually, only one of them can survive, while the other will be completely destroyed. Meaning, if we want to eliminate the tides from the source, the best way is to stop these worlds from approaching each other. Since they could create the Four Sacred Heroes system, this shouldn’t be difficult. But they haven’t done so, which implies there might be hidden reasons we’re unaware of, or perhaps all of this was planned by the Creator of the Four Sacred Heroes system themselves."
"What...!"
Upon hearing this, Akemi Homura and Shana did not react, but Liphana and Raphtalia were stunned. The Four Sacred Heroes have always been regarded as this world’s Guardian Gods, yet now Fang Zheng tells them that the creator of the Four Sacred Heroes system might be the true mastermind behind everything?
"Tch, what’s strange about that? Those sanctimonious bastards are the least trustworthy."
Anzu pouted, letting out a light snort. If anyone among them was the most skeptical, it was Anzu.
After all, she had some personal experience.
"But currently, our intelligence isn’t sufficient, so next, we need to conduct an investigation."
Fang Zheng clapped his hands, then displayed a map.
"Homura, Anzu, Shana, you will each investigate from the east, west, and south directions, and do some Leveling Up along the way. Remember, look for any legends about the Four Sacred Heroes, and try to find some ancient monsters that are still alive; they should know more about the Four Sacred Heroes and the situation of this world. I’ll stay here to investigate the relationship between the Dragon Hourglass and the tides..."
Saying this, Fang Zheng’s mouth curled up slightly. If he’s not mistaken, there should be some connection between the Dragon Hourglass and the tides, making things easier to handle next. He could directly summon the Little Angel to resolve this from an informational level.
"You’re not kids anymore; you should know what to do without my further instruction, but remember, the high-level people in this world are basically idiots. If they don’t bother you, that’s fine, but if they do, just kill them. Remember, the Heavenly Dao Palace is your backing; don’t be afraid of causing trouble. When have we ever been afraid of anyone?!"
"Understood!"
Hearing this, Anzu gleefully snapped her fingers, while Akemi Homura silently nodded. Only Shana frowned slightly, clearly not agreeing with this, but she said nothing further.
After assigning the tasks, the three immediately set out, each taking a path to do their own thing.
Fang Zheng wasn’t worried about their safety; Shana was a qualified Fire Mist Warrior, and Anzu and Homura were seasoned Magical Girls, unlikely to make any mistakes. As for himself, he headed north, both Leveling Up and searching for clues.
Regarding the Dragon Hourglass, Fang Zheng had previously taken the time to visit it once and was surprised to find it wasn’t activated. For some reason, the whole timing system of the Hourglass seemed to be broken, so he had to temporarily give up on infiltrating the Hourglass system and continued to Level Up instead.
After all, once he reached Level 60, he could unlock the trait of the Star Forging Dragon King Soul Fragment, something he was eagerly waiting to see.
Incidentally, Raphtalia and Liphana successfully advanced after returning, with Raphtalia advancing to a Swordsman---unfortunately, her strength points were still insufficient to inherit the Wolf Sword Technique.
Meanwhile, Liphana advanced to an assassin, a profession similar to the Shadow Dancer in the Main World, with skills that allow free movement in shadows and seeing in darkness.
As for Filo... this little plump bird had not yet reached Level 40, so there was no rush.
The other three quickly relayed back their respective information to Fang Zheng.
The fastest was Akemi Homura, who went south. She reported finding ruins of a Spirit Beast once sealed by the Four Sacred Heroes in a small local country, containing legends about the tides. However, she needed further investigation to get accurate information.
Anzu, who went north, also returned a message related to Filo. According to Anzu, while she was skirmishing in the north, she encountered a ridiculously large Filo Bird, who claimed to be the Queen of the Filo Birds, searching for the next queen successor, having chosen Filo as her successor.
Not only that, according to the Queen of the Filo Bird, she was also raised by the previous Hero of the Shield, and is very clear about the previous wave and what happened. So Fang Zheng decided to first take Filo and the others to meet up with Anzu, and then see if they can get any useful information from the Queen of the Filo Bird.
As for Shana who went to the west, she was the slowest to report back, but the information she sent back was the most shocking!
She assassinated the King of Hobrey!
Upon hearing this, Fang Zheng, Anzu, and Akemi Homura were all stunned.
"You’re really something..."
Having spent some time in this world, Anzu and Akemi Homura have gained a certain understanding of the political situation here, knowing that Hobrey is the largest country in this world. Moreover, this country possesses firearms, airplanes, and a series of products from the Industrial Revolution, making it relatively advanced in scientific technology.
However, Shana killed their king!
"I didn’t mean to, alright!"
Upon hearing Anzu’s remark, Shana’s face couldn’t maintain her composure. Initially, she was somewhat dissatisfied with Fang Zheng’s actions, but now she was even harsher than Fang Zheng. Fang Zheng’s assassination of Megmarlo XXXII was at most the king of a medium-sized country, comparable to taking down a president of Ukraine or a prime minister of Belgium. The impact was significant, but not enormous.
But Shana’s action was akin to storming the White House and taking down the orange-haired creature!
This was a completely different concept.
"I didn’t plan to do this, but who would have thought..."
Shana complained to the others, explaining the entire story.
Shana initially made the right choice, as Hobrey adheres to the teachings of the Four Sacred Heroes, so she intended to visit Hobrey to see if she could find some legends or records about the Four Sacred Heroes. For this reason, Shana approached the king of Hobrey and revealed herself as the Sword Hero, after which she was naturally invited into the royal palace.
But what Shana didn’t expect was that in the palace wasn’t Hobrey’s original king but a prince—who had killed his father and seized the throne!
And his identity was actually one of the Seven Stars’ Whip Hero!
This was tolerable, as this was a domestic affair, but what caught her off guard was that the prince talked nonsense, wanting Shana to become part of his harem. After Shana refused, he even tried to seize her Holy Sword!
What’s a joke, a tiger not showing its power, you think it’s a sick cat?
Shana’s situation was similar to Fang Zheng; her rank was only that of the Holy Sword’s rank, but her attribute points were also sky-high. The so-called Whip Hero didn’t even get a chance to resist before he was completely incinerated by Shana’s Flame of Existence.
Thus, the problem arose.
Flame of Existence is different from Primordial Fire; after Primordial Fire burns out, it transforms into firewood. But the Flame of Existence completely wipes out everything it burns, along with its existence.
After Shana cut down that foolish hero, she realized something was wrong and hurriedly used the fragments of his Power of Existence.
Just like in the beginning when Shana used the Power of Existence from people devoured by Followers of the Crimson Realm to hide her identity, now in the eyes of Hobrey’s people, she has replaced the prince and become the new king.
"Isn’t this good?"
Upon hearing this, Anzu began to gloat.
"Effortlessly becoming the queen of the largest country in this world, isn’t that interesting?"
"It’s not interesting at all! What am I supposed to do now!"
Shana was close to going mad; she had no interest in being a king!
"In any case, you first investigate the information on the Four Sacred Heroes within Hobrey."
Fang Zheng restrained his laughter and gave Shana orders.
"Hobrey should have a lot of intelligence on this; collect all the information and give it to me. After you finish all of this, find a chance to hand over Hobrey to Queen Mirellia, consider it a bit of compensation for killing her husband."
Fang Zheng didn’t care about a mere Hobrey; even if it was the largest country in this world, it held no value for him.
"Master, there’s one more thing."
At this moment, Akemi Homura, who had been silent on the screen, spoke up.
"What is it?"
"It’s like this, during my investigation of Four Sacred Hero relics in this western country, I discovered a slave auction with many... similar subhumans like Raphtalia and Liphana."
"......"
Upon hearing Akemi Homura’s report, Fang Zheng was silent for a moment.
"I’ll leave it to you, decide for yourself."
"Yes, Master."
