The next morning, Fang Zheng arrived at the door of Galaxy, and the world was already waiting for him there.
"Hey, sorry to keep you waiting."
Looking at the girl in front of him, Fang Zheng raised his hand and greeted her, and the world waved back at him with a smile.
"It’s okay, I just got here."
"Let’s go in."
After exchanging a few words, the two of them turned and walked into the LIVE HOUSE. Unlike those girl bands, SchoolDays rarely participated in performances, not just because they were busy, but mainly because Fang Zheng didn’t really focus on LIVE performances. To him, LIVE was like a special event in a mobile game, something interesting to do occasionally, but doing it routinely would just be boring.
Moreover, hosting a LIVE was already mentally exhausting enough, and Fang Zheng didn’t want to complicate things further.
"They’re in."
Watching Fang Zheng and the world walk into Galaxy, Sora breathed a sigh of relief. Today, she wasn’t wearing her usual white dress but had changed into a set of sportswear for easy movement, complete with a hat with a wide brim pulled low, looking somewhat like a spy.
This was also part of Fang Zheng and Sora’s plan, with Sora mainly responsible for following closely behind to "support" if necessary. In fact, even if Fang Zheng hadn’t said anything, Sora would have followed anyway. But now, with Fang Zheng’s "authorization," Sora was even more motivated.
Next... find a café to pass the time.
With that in mind, Sora was about to turn and leave when suddenly, a voice spoke from not far away.
"Ah, isn’t that Sora? With that disguise, I almost didn’t recognize you."
"......"
Hearing this voice, Sora was taken aback for a moment, then turned her head, only to see Yukina and Touma standing not far away, waving and smiling at her.
"Yukina... Touma... what are you doing here?"
Seeing these two, Sora was quite surprised.
"Today... shouldn’t there be no practice?"
"Ah, there isn’t. But Wasa said she wanted to check out some other band’s LIVE performances, and I wanted to learn a bit too, since this is our first time hosting a LIVE. I need to work hard!"
Saying this, Yukina clenched her fist tightly. As the lead singer, she felt the pressure more than anyone else. Although outsiders didn’t know who SchoolDays’ special guest was, Yukina was aware that Morikawa Yuki would be appearing as a guest in this LIVE.
If she didn’t work hard, when Morikawa Yuki appeared, she would just be a background character! Though Yukina was a fan of Morikawa Yuki, she also had a singer’s pride, so even on her day off, she came to Galaxy with Touma to observe and learn.
Of course, Yukina’s intentions were good...
"But... since when did you two get so close?"
Hearing Yukina affectionately call Touma by name, Sora was a bit puzzled. She remembered that Yukina always referred to Touma as "Touma-san" before, very politely. But now, she was just calling her by name?
"What’s wrong with that? Wasa and I are good friends now."
Saying this, Yukina warmly took Touma’s arm, and Touma didn’t resist.
Danger often brings people closer together; Yukina and Touma had rescued people together and faced ghosts together in Tenjin Elementary, which had brought them closer. Not long after returning, they started calling each other by name. Of course, Sora knew nothing about this.
Seeing this scene, Sora was quite surprised.
"By the way, how about you, Sora?"
"Ah, well..."
Caught off guard by Yukina’s question, Sora didn’t know what to say.
"I... I’m here to watch the LIVE too..."
"Then let’s all watch together! Honestly, I didn’t know there were so many girl bands until now. I like Roselia, how about you, Sora?"
"I only like SchoolDays."
In this regard, Sora had no hesitation, she was definitely following Fang Zheng’s lead.
"Haha... that’s not wrong... but aside from SchoolDays?"
"Hmm... Poppin’Party."
"Eh? Why?"
"I think their group talk is pretty interesting."
"...We’re here to listen to music, right..."
At this point, Yukina was getting a bit confused by Sora too. She shook her head, and at this moment, Touma, who was standing beside her, spoke up.
"It’s about time, Yukina."
"That’s right, we should head in too... Sora, how about you?"
"I’ll join you!"
Seeing Yukina and Touma about to enter the venue, Sora’s hair stood on end. No joking around, if they saw Sekai and Fang Zheng together, who knows what might happen. She was out here to cover for her brother, so naturally, she had to go in and see what was going on!
The group bought tickets and entered the venue. Luckily, there were quite a few people inside. Sora peeked around, didn’t see Fang Zheng and Sekai, and breathed a sigh of relief.
Soon, the lights dimmed, and the audience raised their glow sticks. In the pitch-black venue, all you could see were patches of glow sticks, not people.
Then, the music and cheers erupted together.
Fang Zheng didn’t raise a glow stick with everyone else. Instead, he just stood in a corner, intently watching the performance on stage. Just like Fang Zheng had told Sora before, he was definitely here for a date, but how the date turned out was up to the individual.
Fang Zheng wasn’t worried about the system causing trouble for him. The Dice of Fate only activates once a day, and he was fully confident he could spoil the date before it triggered. Just like now, even though it was a date, he could focus entirely on the performance on stage. Fang Zheng had a solid plan; next, he would head backstage and have a good chat with the members of these girl bands, gaining some insights on organizing a LIVE event and also keeping a distance from Sekai.
Imagine an ordinary girl, on a date with a guy, watching him chat enthusiastically with other girls, leaving her aside. What would she think?
Unless she’s a masochist, she wouldn’t be happy, right?
This joint LIVE started in the morning and went on until midday. Fang Zheng was confident he could keep chatting with them well into the evening, essentially talking away the entire day.
I don’t believe it, this stupid system can’t cause me any trouble!
The concert atmosphere was lively. Fang Zheng hid in the shadows nearby, occasionally taking out a notebook to jot things down or just stared intently at the girls on stage, completely ignoring Sekai beside him. Sekai, on the other hand, didn’t seem to mind, waving her glow stick and cheering as loudly as everyone else.
The girls on stage were giving it their all, jumping and dancing, full of youthful energy, a delight to watch. However, one thing to note was that most of the audience were female; Fang Zheng had glanced around earlier, counting himself, there were less than twenty males in the entire LIVE venue.
Speaking of which, this world seemed to have a strong yin presence and weak yang. The number of girls in class outnumbered the boys, and the same was true for the school’s gender ratio. On the streets, the overwhelming majority were women, while the number of men seemed lacking.
Even in the entertainment industry, it’s similar. The majority of celebrities are women: female singers, actresses, idols, etc., while males are like rare animals...
How should I put it, it seems like in this world, instead of females being superior to males, ordinary males are more like some kind of background characters; if you don’t pay attention, it’s as if they don’t even exist.
Just like in Tenjin Elementary, Fang Zheng eventually found Satoshi Mochida unconscious in a corner of Yukiko’s room; if he hadn’t bothered to look closely at that time, he might have completely forgotten about Satoshi Mochida.
In Fang Zheng’s class, too, most of the girls’ attention was almost entirely on Fang Zheng. Every day, going to and from school, there were always people greeting him. However, the other boys clearly didn’t receive such treatment, and whether it’s due to the malice of this world or not, Fang Zheng had also heard there were a few couples in the class, but upon closer inspection, you’d find they were generally on the lower side of average.
How to say it... it feels somewhat intentionally in favor of the protagonist’s survival of the fittest.
Otherwise, think about it, in one world, how could you attend school with beautiful classmates, have a beautiful childhood friend living next door, a beautiful teacher in your class, a beautiful manager in your club, run to the convenience store for bread and meet a beautiful cashier, eat at a family restaurant and encounter a beautiful waitress, visit a doctor and find a beautiful doctor, get hospitalized and there’s a beautiful nurse, talk to a beautiful policewoman, and even your friend’s mother is a beautiful lady...
In fact, even the girls Fang Zheng encountered at Tenjin Elementary were almost all above average in appearance. Even if they didn’t make it to lead roles, they could at least take a supporting role. In reality, where would you find a horror game generously handing out beautiful girls?
This world treats the protagonist way too favorably.
Conversely, it’s incredibly harsh on nameless characters, as if all beautiful women in this world were born just to have romantic relationships with the protagonist.
As Fang Zheng observed and pondered, time unnoticeably drifted to midday. With the final dispersal, the audience gradually left.
"Haruno-kun?"
By now, Sekai had screamed to her heart’s content and couldn’t help but look at Fang Zheng.
"Why don’t we grab a meal together?"
"Wait a minute, I have some matters to discuss with them first."
Fang Zheng said to Sekai before heading to the backstage area. It wasn’t his first time attending a LIVE here, and he was familiar with the area, quickly finding the backstage and knocking on the door.
Fang Zheng certainly wouldn’t foolishly open the door directly; he knew very well that aside from himself, everyone here was a girl. Girls are like that; when there aren’t any outsiders, they’re completely at ease, but once a man appears, it’s a whole different situation.
In some sense, the women’s dressing room is like Schrödinger’s cat box: perhaps you think all the girls inside are in lingerie, freely showcasing their graceful figures. But perhaps the reality is a group of girls, sloppily dressed, sitting on the sofa, picking their feet while gossiping and complaining and laughing.
Of course, no matter what the inside of the women’s dressing room looks like, when they open the door, they always appear dazzling...
"Come on in..."
The big door swung open, revealing what first appeared before Fang Zheng was a large, fluffy, pink... bear head?
"Michelle!"
Sekai screamed as she saw the bear in front of her.
Michelle was the name of the bear before them. Of course, there was a human inside. Fang Zheng didn’t understand why anyone would wear such a heavy costume to DJ on stage, but... everyone has their hobbies.
Upon seeing Fang Zheng, Michelle was also taken aback.
"You’re from School Days..."
"Haruno, is it convenient to come in? I have something to ask."
Fang Zheng said, casting a glance at Sekai. As expected, upon hearing Fang Zheng speak, Sekai’s expression turned a bit disappointed... Hehe, without looking, Fang Zheng knew for sure Sekai’s favorability was dropping.
This is a sure win!
