When Mary set foot on the ground again, she felt as if her whole body had turned as soft as a slime. In fact, if it weren’t for the little girls watching her, Mary would have just collapsed on the ground.
Too scary!!
Mary felt like it was the first time in her life she’d experienced the dance with death. There were several moments where she wished she could just pass out so she wouldn’t have to deal with anything.
But Fang Zheng’s roller coaster was designed so cleverly. Just when Mary reached her limit, the roller coaster would smooth out, giving everyone a moment to breathe and relax, and then within seconds, it would dive again, almost scaring people to death.
Mary’s mood was just like the roller coaster, wildly fluctuating. By the time the ride came to a stop again, she looked as if her soul had left her body.
As for Annie beside her, she was leaning over a trash can, vomiting to her heart’s content. She has a good appetite, and the amusement park’s Cola-fried patties were delicious. Since there wasn’t much to do earlier, Annie bought a lot and feasted.
Now she had given all those patties back.
"That was exhilarating!"
Delian was also staggering up, but unlike the others, this young lady’s face was flushed and she looked quite excited. She shook her head and then smiled.
"That was so much fun, I want to go again!"
"Again?!"
Hearing Delian’s words, Mary, Annie, and the others shivered and looked at her in horror.
Don’t you value your life?
"There’s no real risk involved, and it was quite interesting, wasn’t it?"
Don’t be fooled by Delian’s loud demeanor; as a mage, she’s quite sharp. Her logic was clear and precise, leaving others speechless. As expected, after listening to the young lady Delian, the other mages were silent for a moment, then another mage stood up and nodded.
"I’ll go too, last time all I did was scream and can’t remember how we got down. This time I need to make sense of it."
"Yeah, that’s the spirit. Who else wants to go?"
"Count me in......"
"I give up......"
Some mages chose to ride again, but others, including Annie, opted out. Most of them had just eaten and after being tossed around on the roller coaster were left feeling dizzy and sick, still not recovered.
Though there were minor issues like these, the roller coaster indeed became the amusement park’s main attraction. In the second survey, the roller coaster’s satisfaction level surpassed Yukiko’s Ghost House, climbing to the top spot.
Of course, part of the reason is also because some of the little girls didn’t like the Ghost House or were too scared to enter. Fang Zheng understood this; he initially wanted Yukiko to bring out Celestial Paradise just to give the amusement park a firm foundation. Using the Ghost House as the core attraction would be a bit much. After all, most of the residents of the Heavenly Dao Palace were innocent and cute little girls, and Fang Zheng didn’t want to give them any mental scars.
But, the second round of testing also revealed some small issues, such as Mary’s complaint about the lack of attractions they could enjoy. Young ladies like Mary and Delian, who are well-mannered, won’t go for the Ghost House or swimming pools. If they lose interest in the roller coaster, the park’s appeal to them would greatly diminish.
"So next, we’ll prepare for the third internal test."
Putting down the report in his hand, Fang Zheng looked toward Latifa, who was both nervous and excited. After all, Latifa was also the princess of Maple Red Paradise. While the staff might be happy about the growing number of visitors, Latifa knew that one or two days of high attendance didn’t prove anything. If the park itself lacked the lure to attract visitors consistently, it wouldn’t matter if they came once or twice. For the amusement park, it would be pointless.
"Our next target has to be focusing on themed restaurants and the nighttime parade."
Fang Zheng thought for a moment and finally made the decision. He looked at Latifa with some unease.
"Can we increase the production of the Cola-fried patties?"
"There won’t be any problem."
"But you can’t do it alone."
Fang Zheng knew that the amusement park’s Cola-fried patties were made by Latifa alone. Although this Princess used magic to help, her physical limits were undeniable. If the daily footfall reached one to two thousand people, perhaps it was manageable, but it would be unreasonable for Latifa to handle the production on her own when it rose to ten or twenty, even fifty or sixty thousand.
Not to mention that the Princess was frail and prone to illness. If she ever fainted and needed rest, the production of the patties would halt, and from a business standpoint, this sort of unstable supply chain needed improvement.
"I-I’ll do my best......"
"Just doing your best won’t cut it. How about this: see if you can create a standardized process and hire some staff."
Fang Zheng pondered a moment and then offered his suggestion. He planned to turn this Cola-fried patty-themed restaurant into the KFC or McDonald’s of the Heavenly Dao Palace; hopefully, it could become a franchise. By then, the restaurant definitely wouldn’t be limited just to the amusement park, and Latifa alone wouldn’t be able to manage it.
"Okay, I understand. I’ll give it a try."
Hearing Fang Zheng’s decision, Latifa nodded decisively.
"We need to expedite the development of nighttime entertainment facilities and carnival parades. If that green-hatted mouse can’t do it, I’ll replace him."
At this point, Fang Zheng couldn’t help but think of Matsubon. The funniest thing about this mouse mascot was the green hat on its head, which nearly made Fang Zheng laugh the first time they met. Not only that, but according to Ratziel, Matsubon secretly loved Latifa’s mother. As fate would have it, Latifa’s mother married someone else, and later entrusted her daughter... Latifa, to Matsubon.
Well, let’s just say... he wears that green hat with good reason.
"Understood, I’ll inform Uncle."
Seeing Fang Zheng’s oddly amused smile, Latifa was a bit puzzled, but she was used to it. Every time Fang Zheng talked about Matsubon, he’d show this "knowing" smile—a joke only Chinese people would understand, which naturally Latifa and Matsubon wouldn’t know about.
"You also need to prepare. After the third internal test, if all goes well, we’ll start the public test."
As Fang Zheng mentioned this, he took the opportunity to remind her. Hearing this, Latifa immediately grew tense.
"Lord Fang Zheng, do you mean... people from other worlds will come too?"
"More or less. Although it’s not an official alliance, the hope is that they’ll eat well, drink well, and have fun. We’ll borrow your Maple Red Castle for the banquet, so I’ll have to trouble you."
"No, no, no, I’ll make sure to prepare well."
"You don’t need to be so nervous."
Seeing Latifa’s pale face, Fang Zheng smiled.
"Sora will stay here to help you, don’t worry."
After Fang Zheng took over the amusement park, Sora stayed here to help him. For some reason, Sora and Latifa got along quite well. Fang Zheng was pleased about it. He noticed everything regarding Sora since she came to the Heavenly Dao Palace. She didn’t really have any issues with others, it was just that sometimes they didn’t click, and forcing them to build a good relationship had no meaning.
But leaving Sora all alone wasn’t ideal either. Now that she and Latifa were getting along well, it was a good start. After all, both of them were new members of Heavenly Dao Palace, and they shared a similar mindset in this regard. Plus, Latifa was gentle and friendly, and got along well with Sora.
So Fang Zheng had decided that after completing the task, he would let Sora take charge of the amusement park, which settled a concern of hers.
After deciding on the direction for the third round of adjustments, Fang Zheng temporarily left the amusement park to start traveling around the world.
He was also sending invitations to his representatives in various worlds.
The Fire Mist World was simple; with Black Katie among the Followers of the Crimson Realm and Shana among the Fire Mist Warriors. Once Fang Zheng brought it up, both of them readily agreed after determining the timing. Fang Zheng casually gave a few instructions and then stepped into the elevator, pressing the button.
Soon, the elevator doors opened, revealing a strong rural ambiance.
"Whew..."
Fang Zheng took a deep breath before opening his eyes, then stepped out of the elevator.
The village outside was as peaceful as ever.
It was already August, the hottest season. However, with occasional breezes blowing through the woods, it was still quite cool. Fang Zheng stepped off the road, and before long, he saw five figures excitedly riding bicycles on the rural path.
"Ah, teacher!!"
Seeing Fang Zheng, Furutega Rika cheerfully waved her hand, and next to her, Rena and Satoko also enthusiastically greeted him. Then, several bicycles came to a stop in front of Fang Zheng with a rustle.
"Long time no see, teacher!"
"Indeed, it has been a while."
Fang Zheng visited the World of Cicada’s Song infrequently, as there wasn’t much that required his attention. He would occasionally return to chat with others. Apart from Furutega Rika, the others were not very aware of Fang Zheng’s true identity, but they did know he was quite capable.
As to how capable he was, it held little significance to those living peaceful lives in the small mountain village.
"We’re planning to go to town to play baseball today."
Keiichi waved his bat excitedly, looking at Fang Zheng.
"Teacher, do you want to come along?"
"I’ll pass."
As he spoke, Fang Zheng glanced at Rena not far away. Sensing Fang Zheng’s gaze, Rena blushed slightly, blinked, and remained silent.
"...Okay."
Seeing this, Fang Zheng inexplicably felt a chill in his chest, unconsciously recalling Saiin-ji Sekai... Well, better not to think about it for now.
"Oh right, I have something to tell you. I’m planning to hold a grand festival soon, where many people will gather. You’ll meet up, eat, drink, and have fun. I’ve set the date, and I’ll send someone to notify you in advance."
"Really? A festival? Where?"
Upon hearing this, Satoko became interested, and Fang Zheng smiled, patting her head.
"You’ll find out when you get there... Hmm, let’s keep it a surprise for now."
After greeting Furutega Rika and the others and confirming the time, Fang Zheng turned to leave and then arrived in the Type Moon World.
"...A festival?"
Accepting the invitation from Fang Zheng, Fiore looked surprised, and Fang Zheng nodded.
"That’s right. You’ll need to go to another world, where you’ll meet many people from other worlds and civilizations. It would be good to prepare and greet each other."
"Understood, Master."
Fiore obediently put away the invitation, and Fang Zheng glanced around.
"By the way, where’s Jeanne d’Arc?"
"Miss Jeanne... She’s working outside."
At this point, Fiore revealed a wry smile. Originally, Jeanne was a "gift" from the consciousness of Type Moon to Fang Zheng. However, Fang Zheng appreciated Jeanne’s inherent skill of "eloquence," so he placed her in this world to engage as a secretary in contacts and negotiations with other power groups.
Jeanne was quite frustrated by this, but she had no choice but to grit her teeth and do it... Now she had practically become Fiore’s exclusive secretary.
"If she’s available, bring her along. If not, never mind."
Fang Zheng didn’t have any specific thoughts about Jeanne, only mentioning it casually.
Just then, he suddenly thought of Yuzhu.
Should he go see her?
