Everyone looked at Ye Chen with sympathy.
This guy is done for.
Sun Wei is notoriously domineering at Light and Shadow.
Once, a janitor accidentally swept dust onto her, and she slapped the person directly and had them fired by the CEO.
This guy, having hit her beloved car, is definitely out of luck.
"Which department are you from?" Sun Wei asked aggressively.
Before Ye Chen could speak, Li Yao hurried over.
Seeing Li Yao, Sun Wei was even more arrogant.
"President Li, youРІР‚в„ўre here, perfect, fire this brat for me."
Li Yao looked at Ye Chen with an awkward expression and said, "Xiaowei, immediately apologize to Mr. Ye Chen."
"What? Apologize?" Sun Wei was stunned.
Everyone around was equally baffled.
Sun Wei is the companyРІР‚в„ўs cornerstone, and now Li Yao is asking her to apologize to this young man. WhatРІР‚в„ўs going on?
"President Li, why should I apologize to this guy?" Sun Wei said, both angry and humiliated.
Li YaoРІР‚в„ўs expression was complicated, "You must apologize to this guy because he is the chairman."
Sun Wei, who had been so arrogant just moments ago, suddenly went silent; the chairman!
Everyone on the scene was stunned.
This young man turned out to be the companyРІР‚в„ўs chairman.
Ye Chen was driving a Geely car, has Light and Shadow Film Industry fallen so far?
The chairman is driving such a lousy car.
Ye Chen said calmly, "I now announce you are terminated from the company."
"What? Termination?" Sun Wei was taken aback.
Now the film industry isnРІР‚в„ўt doing well; Sun Wei is one of the few who can make money for the company.
Sun Wei was even more defiant, "Alright, terminating me, IРІР‚в„ўve been wanting to leave the company anyway."
Ye Chen smiled faintly, "President Li, handle the procedures for her."
Hearing Ye ChenРІР‚в„ўs words, Li YaoРІР‚в„ўs expression also turned grim.
"President Ye, Sun Wei is our companyРІР‚в„ўs pillar, terminating her would cause significant loss."
Ye Chen snorted coldly, "I, Ye Chen, am not impressed by such second-rate actors. You know Tong Xiaoya, right? She will be our future pillar."
"What? Tong Xiaoya?" Everyone was dumbfounded by Ye ChenРІР‚в„ўs words.
Who is Tong Xiaoya?
A popular actress, an absolute star in the entertainment circle right now.
A small film company like theirs actually signed Tong Xiaoya.
Ye Chen said, "Organize a meeting with all the artists."
In the meeting room, all the artists looked nervously at Ye Chen.
They had already heard that as soon as Ye Chen arrived, he immediately fired the pillar Sun Wei.
These people were very anxious, not knowing what their own fate would be.
Ye Chen looked at them and said, "Everyone, the film industry is facing a harsh winter now; I know things are tough, and I know many of you are struggling to even pay rent. From today on, the company will provide a guaranteed salary of thirty thousand per month."
On hearing Ye ChenРІР‚в„ўs words, the room erupted.
A guaranteed salary means that even without work, they will still earn a salary.
This was simply too blissful.
Ye Chen continued, "However, to enjoy this guaranteed salary, you must sign a new contract. Of course, you can also refuse and leave Light and Shadow."
Upon seeing the contract, the celebritiesРІР‚в„ў expressions changed slightly.
The contracts are all ten-year agreements, which means breaking it will result in huge compensation.
An actorРІР‚в„ўs prime is only about ten years.
This was akin to a life-long contract.
But everyone knew that thirty thousand a month is about the best benefit in the entertainment industry currently.
Many of them couldnРІР‚в„ўt even afford rent or food now.
By signing with Light and Shadow, if nothing else, at least they can ensure basic living needs.
So all the artists agreed to sign with the company.
The reason Ye Chen signed such a long-term contract is because he has too many resources.
Web series and idol dramas from his past life can all be brought to production.
These artists will definitely not be idle, and Ye Chen also believes that with his capability, he can surely make them big stars.
But once they become stars, other companies would poach them.
Ye Chen would not be foolish to let that happen, hence the long-term contracts.
After the contracts were signed, Ye Chen nodded and said, "We will now shoot a new film РІР‚в„ўCrouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.РІР‚в„ў IРІР‚в„ўve already chosen the lead roles; this will be Light and ShadowРІР‚в„ўs first major production this year."
In the chairmanРІР‚в„ўs office at Light and Shadow Film Industry, Tong Xiaoya looked at Ye ChenРІР‚в„ўs contract, a bit surprised.
"Ye Chen, I didnРІР‚в„ўt expect you to be so capable."
Ye Chen laughed, "So, you wonРІР‚в„ўt refuse this contract, will you?"
Tong Xiaoya chuckled bitterly, "Of course I wonРІР‚в„ўt refuse, but am I really worth this much?"
The contract Ye Chen gave Tong Xiaoya was very generous, with annual film revenue sharing reaching eighty million.
This was already double her previous salary.
The РІР‚в„ўCrouching Tiger, Hidden DragonРІР‚в„ў production team was officially established.
Then came the props work and other preparations, three days later, at Modu Film City, РІР‚в„ўCrouching Tiger, Hidden DragonРІР‚в„ў officially began filming.
When the cast of РІР‚в„ўCrouching Tiger, Hidden DragonРІР‚в„ў was announced, it caused a sensation on the internet.
The female lead was quite reliable, starring the popular star Tong Xiaoya, but the male lead was rather unheard of, Zhou Fa, a virtually unknown actor.
Most importantly, this filmРІР‚в„ўs director, producer, scriptwriter, and even the composer were all handled by Ye Chen alone.
This was practically Ye Chen taking charge of everything.
Many people believed this film was just Ye Chen spending money on his own amusement.
Even those within Light and Shadow thought Ye Chen was crazy.
After all, one personРІР‚в„ўs ability is limited; you might have directing talent, but that doesnРІР‚в„ўt mean you can also be a producer, scriptwriter, and composer.
But Ye Chen was handling it all by himself.
The anticipation for the film online was very low, and many film experts thought there was a 99% chance it would flop.
The only thing people looked forward to was Tong XiaoyaРІР‚в„ўs performance.
And Tong XiaoyaРІР‚в„ўs switch to Light and Shadow also sparked heated discussions.
This contract termination, her former management company issued a statement naming Tong Xiaoya for breach of contract, which was a significant loss for her.
Most of her previous song copyrights were even stripped away, and importantly, Light and Shadow paid eighty million in penalty fees for her.
The movie hadnРІР‚в„ўt even started filming yet, and there was already a lot of chatter externally.
Some people even said that Ye Chen was supporting Tong Xiaoya and that this movie was tailored just for her.
However, РІР‚в„ўCrouching Tiger, Hidden DragonРІР‚в„ў was filmed under closed conditions, and no one knew what was happening inside.
Before filming started, many in the crew were very skeptical of Ye Chen.
But once filming commenced, Ye ChenРІР‚в„ўs demonstrated directing ability stunned everyone.
Even Tong Xiaoya was full of praise.
Ye ChenРІР‚в„ўs expertise was at the level of a master director.
And Zhou FaРІР‚в„ўs acting talent was also showcased vividly.
Zhou Fa had never had such an opportunity before, and now that it was here, he displayed his film talent to the fullest.
While outsiders were pessimistic about the movie, many within the crew felt something else.
This film is going to be a hit.
