To this day, no one can guess how Ye Xuan and the Dragon Princess turned against each other.
This couple, who were once so loving, have now become adversaries. Despite their somewhat naive nature, their love was pure, something that everyone admired and longed for.
A considerable time had passed. Ye Xuan and the Dragon Princess, although unable to find any immortals on earth, had traveled extensively across the mortal world.
The two of them were deeply in love, and Xiao Cai, the young girl, followed them persistently as a third wheel.
“Brother Ye Xuan, what exactly are you and Big Sister Dragon Princess doing?” Xiao Cai asked, feeling exasperated after having traveled to yet another new place with them.
The matter of the demonic realm passage had long been dealt with and forgotten, and Xiao Cai initially thought that following Ye Xuan and the Dragon Princess would allow her to learn some immortal skills.
However, to her dismay, they seemed to wander aimlessly without teaching her anything, leaving her frustrated.
“Didn’t I tell you?” Ye Xuan turned to Xiao Cai. “We’re looking for immortals.”
“Immortals?” Xiao Cai questioned. “You two are immortals yourselves. Why look for other immortals?”
“She can still be considered an immortal; I am not,” Ye Xuan replied casually. “I was once an immortal, but I committed a grave mistake and was punished by the Heavenly Emperor of the celestial realm.”
“I can no longer practice immortal cultivation techniques, nor can I practice dragon clan techniques. To gain immortality again, I need to find a human cultivation method and start anew.”
“Cultivation method for humans?” Xiao Cai pondered and then said, “Brother Ye Xuan, have you ever considered that there might be no such thing as a cultivation method for humans in this world?”
“?!” Ye Xuan was puzzled.
“Think about it carefully,” Xiao Cai continued. “According to you, unless some exceptionally lucky individuals survive, most of the innate human race wouldn’t even be able to live, let alone become immortals without cultivation methods.”
“And for the acquired human race, gods and demons are like untouchable beings. If no one teaches humans how to cultivate, where would human cultivation methods come from?”
Ye Xuan’s expression changed. Perhaps it was true—there might be no such thing as a human cultivation method. The so-called immortals were merely surviving members of the innate human race. Immortals, ancestral beings...
If that were the case, even if he found an immortal, it would be pointless.
“Therefore, Brother Ye Xuan, you should take me as your disciple,” Xiao Cai suggested. “If you pass your immortal methods to me, I can evolve them into human cultivation methods. This way, you can practice them too.”
The Dragon Princess was astonished by the cleverness of this human girl.
No one had expected this level of wisdom from a human girl.
“In ancient times, humans... perhaps really had no immortals,” the cultivators watching the scene mused.
Immortals, though not numerous in this era, were present. But they were cultivated over generations. In ancient times, humans had no opportunity for such cultivation.
“Little girl, you make a lot of sense. However, I can pass my immortal methods to you, but can you ensure that you can evolve them into human cultivation methods?” Ye Xuan asked Xiao Cai.
“We won’t know until we try,” Xiao Cai responded confidently.
“Aren’t you afraid of being punished by the Heavenly Emperor for practicing immortal techniques?” Ye Xuan asked again.
“I’m not afraid,” Xiao Cai declared. “I’m just a mere mortal. If the Heavenly Emperor wants to punish me for practicing immortal techniques, then he’s too petty.”
“Haha.” Ye Xuan laughed. “That’s not necessarily true... I still can’t teach you immortal methods, but you’ve given me an idea.”
“If there are no cultivation methods in this world, then I just need to create a cultivation method for humans right?”
“–!!!”
The Dragon Princess’s eyes lit up, “Husband, if it’s you, I’m sure you can do it. I’ll help you.”
“Alright,” Ye Xuan nodded.
From that moment, Ye Xuan embarked on the path of cultivation again. Though he had once been enlightened by the Nine Heavens Mysterious Lady, allowing him to ascend to immortality, he was no longer that mere mortal.
His experiences in the immortal realm and his various encounters over the years had enabled him to use spiritual energy. Though not an immortal, he wasn’t completely powerless.
He had originally thought of finding a master among the immortals, but this new realization made him understand that it wasn’t necessary.
Ye Xuan felt particularly joyful at this moment. Looking towards the distant sky, he saw a mountain piercing the clouds, magnificent and grand.
“This mountain is so beautiful and majestic; it shall be named Taihua,” Ye Xuan said to the Dragon Princess and Xiao Cai. “From now on, we will cultivate here on Mount Taihua.”
“??!!!”
Everyone watching the scene was shocked.
What was going on?!
Mount Taihua?!
Mount Taihua was named by Ye Xuan?!!!
The disciples of Taihua were especially astonished. They never expected Mount Taihua to look like this in ancient times.
“Husband, you have a great eye. Mount Taihua is indeed a place where the essence of the world converges,” praised the Dragon Princess.
“Haha, wife, don’t flatter me too much,” Ye Xuan replied. “You have taken me to explore the world; how could the places you bring me to not be filled with the world’s essence?”
The Dragon Princess blushed shyly.
Looking at the two, Xiao Cai, oblivious to her role as a third wheel, glanced at Mount Taihua with anticipation.
“Let’s go,” Ye Xuan said. “Let’s see what a wonderful place Mount Taihua is.”
