Kuang Tianjie was holding a look of regret on his face as if he was reluctant to offer the Blood Sea Ring for trade.
However, witnessing this scene, Shen Yuan became exceedingly wary.
He was well aware that within that Blood Sea Ring resided an unspecified level of a peculiar old figure from the Demon Path.
Many monster tribes and mountain deities of Qi Transformation Stage had fallen victim to this old creature in recent days. The array of magical treasures and divine skills he displayed were enough to send chills down Shen Yuan’s spine.
Under such circumstances, how could he casually approach this Blood Sea Ring?
Shen Yuan then put on a hesitant look and spoke to Kuang Tianjie:
“Since you my friend, seem so attached to it, I cannot bring myself to enjoy others’ possession.
The three items you’ve put forth, I value them at three bottles of Flood Dragon Blood Pill, which I’ll offer you at a reasonable price.”
With a wave of his sleeve, Shen Yuan’s mana fluctuated as he slowly raised up the three bottles of Flood Dragon Blood Pill to Kuang Tianjie.
Kuang Tianjie, who was offering the Blood Sea Ring, was momentarily frozen.
Looking at the three bottles of the Flood Dragon Blood Pill in front of him, he was even tempted to yell out in frustration.
“What good would these shoddy items do me? Something refined simply from the flesh and blood of a flood dragon, do you really consider that as Dan Medicine?
Do you even know what a Blood River Pill, a Human Origin Pill, or a Heavenly Bone Pill is?”
“You have treasures placed in front of you and you don’t know how to seize the opportunity, instead you give it up modestly. Do cultivators really behave in this manner?”
Seldom are Kuang Tianjie’s thoughts on the Flood Dragon Blood Pill. His true intention was to make Shen Yuan touch the Blood Sea Ring, then through brief contact, he planned to take over Shen Yuan’s body.
But he never anticipated that Shen Yuan, moved by the hesitation Kuang Tianjie was displaying, would magnanimously forget about the “coveting” part of their deal.
Kuang Tianjie felt like swearing, but he had to keep the front of calm, otherwise any overly deliberate actions might alert Shen Yuan, making matters complicated.
Despite unpleasant words bouncing around his mind, Kuang Tianjie had to maintain a pleasant smile and express his gratitude to Shen Yuan:
“I appreciate your kind assistance, my friend. However, I have significant use for these Flood Dragon Blood Pills.
I still wish to trade all my Flood Dragon Blood Pills for this Blood Sea Ring, I hope you understand.”
The gentler Kuang Tianjie’s attitude the more cautious Shen Yuan became.
Especially now, when Shen Yuan had already made considerable concessions, and Kuang Tianjie still insisted on trading, making his moves even more suspicious.
One should know that just a few hours ago this cultivator, under the influence of the old demon in the Blood Sea Ring, was engaged in a life-and-death battle with his friends.
A few short hours later, this cultivator was now willing to put up the Blood Sea Ring in exchange for these Flood Dragon Blood Pills. Even a fool would find something wrong with this.
In Shen Yuan’s view, either the young cultivator had reached an agreement with the old demon, preparing to forget past bitterness and combine forces, or the demon had completely controlled the young cultivator.
Whichever it was, the transaction involving the Blood Sea Ring was orchestrated by the demon.
“He wants me to touch the Blood Sea Ring in the name of trading!”
All pieces of information linked together perfectly in Shen Yuan’s mind.
Such evidence made Shen Yuan feel confident that the old demon in the Blood Sea Ring was targeting him.
“There are many things about me that others might covet, such as Earthly Destroyer Divine Power and the Immortal Sword are among them.
But if the condition is to limit it to a struggling demon’s residual soul, the first thing I would think of is body possession!”
“Maybe it’s his Demon Path techniques, or the secret technique for body possession. Once, I initiate contact with this Blood Sea Ring, he would definitely succumb to possessing my body.”
Being able to put it all together, Shen Yuan had a lot less doubt and he had already planned his move.
Looking at the sincere-looking Kuang Tianjie, Shen Yuan slightly furrowed his brows and said softly:
“Since you’re adamant about it, I can consider it.”
As he spoke, Shen Yuan reached out his hand to receive the Blood Sea Ring.
Alookof joy flashed across Kuang Tianjie’s face. His eyes were firmly fixed on Shen Yuan’s movements, only to see Shen Yuan’s raised hand freeze just before reaching the ring.
“Something’s not right!”
Shen Yuan drew back his hand and asked Kuang Tianjie:
“Since you’ve brought out this Blood Sea Ring, could you explain its function?
My dozens of bottles of Flood Dragon Blood Pills do have a certain value. If we’re to do this trade, the Blood Sea Ring should at least be worth as much as these pills.”
Kuang Tianjie was taken aback, his expectation which had just risen collapsing instantly.
However, Shen Yuan’s words were quite reasonable, Kuang Tianjie didn’t have any doubts and directly replied:
“This Blood Sea Ring has experienced Spirit Energy depletion for many years and now it’s just a magical treasure. But its value greatly exceeds that of ordinary magical treasures because this Blood Sea Ring has storage capabilities.”
As he spoke, a flash of blood appeared in his hand and several talismans fell into his palm.
After demonstrating, Kuang Tianjie confidently offered the Blood Sea Ring to Shen Yuan once again.
“Besides its storage capability, this Blood Sea Ring has some other abilities that however, due to its fall in rank, aren’t as effective. If you’re interested, you can have a try.”
While one magical treasure might not be worth these Flood Dragon Blood Pills, a storage treasure is a different story.
Among all magic artifacts and treasures, the most precious are the storage type treasures, especially during the early stage of the Spirit Energy Tidal Surge.
This is why Kuang Tianjie deliberately concealed the true effect of the Blood Sea Ring.
In Kuang Tianjie’s view, a storage treasure in exchange for dozens of bottles of Flood Dragon Blood Pills was more than enough to attract Shen Yuan.
Once the transaction was completed, when Shen Yuan tried to use the Blood Sea Ring, his goal would be achieved.
However, to Kuang Tianjie’s immense surprise, Shen Yuan, after witnessing the storage effect of the Blood Sea Ring, showed no interest at all. Instead, disappointment was evident on his face.
“Do you, my friend, have any grievances about this Blood Sea Ring?”
Kuang Tianjie couldn’t help but ask.
Shen Yuan shook his head in response: “It’s not that I’m dissatisfied, it’s just that I already have a storage treasure. I’d prefer to swap for something else.”
Kuang Tianjie slightly furrowed his brows:” Storage treasures are hard to come by, even if you don’t use it yourself, you can easily...”
Before he could finish, Kuang Tianjie’s voice got stuck in his throat.
Because he saw Shen Yuan, in addition to the Storage Ring he wore on his hand, took out another white jade Storage Ring from his bosom, which appeared to be of high quality.
“Even if you have two...”
Shen Yuan once again pulled out a white jade Storage Ring, almost identical to the previous one.
“Such treasures are always in demand for trading. Even if you get more of them, you will not lose in the deal....”
Shen Yuan directly took out a large handful of various storage rings, looking to be more than ten in total. The engraved Space Inscriptions and the residual spatial fluctuations they produced left Kuang Tianjie speechless.
Kuang Tianjie:...
Shen Yuan didn’t even seem to notice Kuang Tianjie’s stiff expression, but sighed to himself:
“Flood Dragon Blood Pills are probably useful for me in the future, but storage rings are of no use to me, which may disappoint you.”
Kuang Tianjie’s facial muscles twitched slightly. He had never seen anyone so brazenly arrogant, even in the past ten thousand years.
Despite being a deeply scheming individual, the repeated setbacks made Kuang Tianjie lose his composure. He said gravely:
“In fact, this Blood Sea Ring has other functions. However, it’s inconvenient to demonstrate them in the town square. Would you like to follow me outside?”
Shen Yuan appeared hesitant. After a brief moment of contemplation, he packed up his stall into his Storage Ring.
“Let’s go, then!”
The two men set off together, leaving Yunfu Street behind.
Nobody in the marketplace paid attention to their departure. To them, Shen Yuan and Kuang Tianjie were simply two nondescript passersby, unworthy of any attention.
Rushing through the forest at high speed, they crossed several mountaintops quickly, eventually arriving at a desolate area several dozen kilometers away.
“Right here!”
The sky was beginning to dim. Kuang Tianjie raised the Blood Sea Ring on his right hand and said to Shen Yuan:
“Actually, I couldn’t explain it clearly in the marketplace. This Blood Sea Ring is essentially a degraded magic treasure of the Demon Path.
Besides its storage capabilities, this Blood Sea Ring also nurtures and amplifies the Spirit Soul. The only drawback is that it requires a large amount of one’s own Vital Energy to operate, even when opening the storage function.
I am unable to support this treasure with my current condition, so I plan to trade it for some Blood Vitality Pills to replenish my depleted energy.”
As he spoke, a helpless smile appeared on Kuang Tianjie’s face, as if he genuinely regretted being unable to wield such a treasure.
Watching Kuang Tianjie’s performance, Shen Yuan almost believed his story for a moment.
Kuang Tianjie continued, “Since you have the ability to refine Flood Dragon Blood Pills, and you have so many storage artifacts that you surely wouldn’t lack the medicinal pills for Vital Energy, the Blood Sea Ring is definitely a perfect match for you.”
A contemplative look appeared in Shen Yuan’s eyes before he finally spoke:
“That’s not enough! If you, a true disciple of the Talisman Sword Sect, aren’t able to support this ring, it implies that it’s a bottomless pit. These explanations are not enough for me to buy it.”
With Shen Yuan’s second refusal, it seemed like flames could burst from Kuang Tianjie’s eyes at any moment.
However, Shen Yuan’s next words quickly cooled down Kuang Tianjie’s simmering anger.
“Such Demon Path treasures usually have some secret killing powers. If it indeed has such powers, it might be worth trading it.”
Kuang Tianjie pondered for a moment and then gritted his teeth, “This Blood Sea Ring has a sealed Divine Skill named Blood Transformation Divine Sword. It can manipulate the blood of living creatures to kill its enemies. If driven properly, it can even slay a cultivator at the Qi Transformation Stage, or even a Great Demon at the Spirit Refining Stage.
But this skill needs to consume a large amount of Vital Energy. Furthermore, the sealed Divine Skill only has one opportunity left. Once you purchase it, you can certainly use it as your trump card.”
“Blood Transformation Divine Sword?” Shen Yuan looked surprised and couldn’t help but ask:
“Does this Blood Transformation Divine Sword have any flaws? If I spend a lot of money to buy it and find it hard to use against my enemies, that would be a joke.”
Finally seeing Shen Yuan taking the bait, Kuang Tianjie hurriedly explained:
“The Blood Transformation Divine Sword is a purely offensive Divine Skill. It transforms the enemy’s blood into a weapon to attack.
The biggest drawback is that the enemy must possess a flesh-and-blood body, and they can’t be too far away. Otherwise, the Blood Transformation Divine Sword won’t be able to show its capabilities.”
“A limited range?” Shen Yuan pondered with a glint in his eye.
After a while, Shen Yuan spoke to Kuang Tianjie: “Since everything is clear now, let’s make the trade.”
As he said this, Shen Yuan took out more than ten vials of Flood Dragon Blood Pills.
Kuang Tianjie was overjoyed. He didn’t even care about the Blood Pills and readily took off the Blood Sea Ring from his finger, passing it to Shen Yuan.
Shen Yuan reached out to accept it, but at that moment, a clear sword chant echoed through the dense forest as sword energies crisscrossed, causing the forest to collapse.
A scene of white light abruptly appeared, and to his shock, Kuang Tianjie found his connection to the body, which was controlled by his soul-snatching technique, was severed. His head had slid off from his neck.
“What a quick sword!”
Kuang Tianjie, inside the Blood Sea Ring, was startled. But seeing Shen Yuan’s palm slowly descending towards the Blood Sea Ring, a cold smirk crossed his mind.
“Killing for treasure? Let’s see if you’re even qualified to wield this treasure.”
However, just then, Shen Yuan lifted up his falling hand slightly, and with a sweep of his wide sleeve, the Blood Sea Ring was swept into a separate space.
A voice full of terror suddenly echoed in that space.
“Space Sleeve?”
