Ji Yi nodded and said, "Everything that needed to be settled has been settled."
Ji Songlie nodded and said, "On the Ji Family side, it’s manageable. Last night Marquis Gu... Celestial Martial King killed their top combat forces, and with the appearance of the Three Ancestors today, no one dares to voice opposition anymore.
However, with the Lü Family, their ancestral land is not in the Capital City, and once they receive the news, they will definitely move their entire clan elsewhere, making it difficult to deal with them."
Ji Yi waved his hand and said, "No problem, they’re nothing but a pack of stray dogs."
Ji Songlie pondered for a moment and said, "Your Majesty, why did you suddenly grant Gu Zhan a royal title and give him all of Yunzhou as his fief? It seems somewhat inappropriate!"
Ji Yi slightly shook his head and said, "No, it’s the most appropriate course of action."
"Indeed, it is the most appropriate action."
At this moment, a voice suddenly echoed in the Imperial Study, and Ji Yi and Ji Songlie looked over.
A fluctuation spread through the air,
and the figures of the Three Ancestors of the Ji Family slowly manifested.
Ji Yi and Ji Songlie hurriedly stood up and saluted.
The Three Ancestors of the Ji Family waved their hand and said, "Songlie, you witnessed the battle at Qixia Mountain with your own eyes last night. Gu Zhan’s strength is not merely the world’s greatest; it’s as if he’s in a league of his own, with no one able to catch up.
His power is such that, apart from the legendary Immortal Sect, in this mortal realm, there is no person or force that can hinder him. Fortunately, he harbors no hatred toward our Royal Family but holds a debt of gratitude instead.
The Emperor now titles him Celestial Martial King, granting him a title equal to the Emperor, as an act of goodwill, which is very necessary and the most urgent matter right now. Honestly, with Gu Zhan’s strength, do you really think we can make him bow to our Royal Family?"
Ji Songlie’s mouth twitched and said, "Well... I’m afraid..."
"The Royal Family is unworthy," said the Three Ancestors, "Rather than create awkwardness, it’s better for our Royal Family to show wisdom and consideration, just like we did with the Buddhist Sect’s two factions before. Show some tact, and everyone can save face."
Ji Songlie sighed and said, "Actually, I understand the reasoning, but... alas, Gu Zhan is ultimately not the same as the Buddhist Sect’s two factions. The Buddhist Sect is the Martial Arts Holy Land; they are above the Royal Family. But Gu Zhan is different. What if he really wants the throne?"
"Then let him have it!" Ji Yi stood up and said, "If Gu Zhan genuinely wants the throne, then I’ll willingly give it to him!"
Ji Songlie was shocked.
Ji Yi sighed and said, "Firstly, Gu Zhan’s cultivation is beyond humanity, and with the Method of Divine Sight in his grasp, given time, he could cultivate numerous experts comparable to the Grotto Heaven Realm without restriction. The Royal Family cannot match Gu Zhan, and even the Buddhist Sect’s two factions might be overthrown by him.
Secondly, this world consists of more than just our Xia Kingdom. If Gu Zhan truly holds some worldly power, with his current strength, he could easily plunge the world into chaos, then nurture Divine Sight Realm experts, akin to how Emperor Yu Yang, the first to master the Grotto Heaven Technique over two thousand years ago, could easily unite the world. Our Ji Family should be wise enough to align with him early, obtaining greater benefits, instead of risking annihilation by opposing him.
Moreover, after last night’s battle, those who disagreed have mostly been killed by Gu Zhan. Even those who remain, thinking themselves noble and looking down on Gu Zhan, probably wouldn’t dare provoke his ire!"
Ji Songlie frowned.
The Three Ancestors gently patted Ji Songlie’s shoulder and said, "Songlie, this world is not like it was three thousand years ago. Since the creation of Martial Arts by the Martial Saint all those years ago, to the emergence of Grotto Heaven Cultivators two thousand years ago, the Royal Family, Royal Clan, and Emperor were no longer the pinnacle of the world. The true summit lies with those top cultivators.
The real nobility in this world is not bloodline, not status, but cultivation. The moment Gu Zhan became the world’s foremost, and an overwhelmingly superior form of foremost, his status surpassed us all.
Just like in our Xia Kingdom, the Buddhist Sect’s two factions, Southern Jin’s Dragon Tiger Dao Sect, and Beiwei’s Confucian Sect; for over two thousand years, the world has alternately united and divided, at one time split into sixteen nations, but these three forces remained constant. They decide who becomes Emperor, and if they want world unity, the world becomes unified. In such times, there’s really nothing noble about the Royal Family.
And Gu Zhan, who can now evoke dread in these three forces, could even challenge them to become the fourth Martial Arts Holy Land. If he wants a throne, why shouldn’t he have it?
The distinctions of class in this world, arrogance and prejudice, noble birth and inferiority, shallow insight and wide perspective, are all meaningless in the face of absolute strength!"
Ji Songlie questioned, "Three Ancestors, since you perceive it this way, and His Majesty perceives it likewise, why did you not collaborate with the First Ancestor to deal with Gu Zhan earlier?"
Ji Yi chuckled lightly and said, "That’s precisely the arrogance and prejudice the Three Ancestors mentioned. They believed Gu Zhan’s achievements meant they could do better because they were nobler. I thought whether it was the Method of Divine Sight or the alleged legacy behind Gu Zhan, it was only because of Gu Zhan’s actions that his current achievements were possible.
I prefer to observe the era’s transformation and let it evolve freely. The Ji Family doesn’t have to remain the Royal Clan or Royal Family forever, as long as we survive in this era and carry on the legacy. After all, in this world, there is no eternal dynasty!"
Yunzhou, Yun City.
When Gu Zhan arrived at Yun City, the turmoil there had already subsided, as the Astronomical Bureau and Shuntian Prefecture were now under the control of Marquis Yun’s Mansion, and at this moment, Nangong Weiyang and Rong Yichu were gathering troops, preparing to march upon the Capital City.
