Shen Yifeng was astonished, looking around in every direction.
You walked in through the front door, speaking with a smile.
"Mr. Xun has quite the perception. I wonder what Divine Ability you've comprehended."
Mr. Xun was at the Late Stage of the Ultimate Realm, so naturally, he had comprehended a Divine Ability.
Upon seeing that the uninvited guest was human, Mr. Xun relaxed considerably, but he still maintained his guard.
"And who might you be, sir? Why were you following Brother Shen?"
"My name is Chen Dong, the one in charge of the Winged Feather stellar system! Now, I intend to support the Torch Society on your Blazing Star and unify the entire planet!"
"Pfft..."
Hearing you spout such nonsense with a perfectly straight face, Shen Yifeng couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.
"My apologies."
He then sincerely apologized to you.
You smiled and didn't mind at all.
"I just didn't want to beat around the bush, so I came straight to the point. I understand if you don't believe me, but hear me out..."
Unexpectedly, Mr. Xun said something surprising.
"I believe you."
You and Shen Yifeng: "Huh?"
Mr. Xun pulled a small bamboo tube from beneath his desk and extracted a slip of paper from it.
"An intelligence update arrived the day before yesterday. The Winged Feather stellar system has changed its actual leadership.
On the surface, the human Rebel Army and the newly risen Winged Ancestor Church of the Winged Clan are locked in a standoff.
In reality, the true power behind the Winged Ancestor Church is also Grand Marshal Chen Dong of the Rebel Army.
If you truly are Chen Dong, then I can believe a little of what you just said."
Mr. Xun handed the slip of paper to Shen Yifeng.
After reading it, the latter was extremely shocked.
"Our human race actually succeeded in the uprising?"
Mr. Xun said calmly.
"It has happened before."
"But usually, before long, the major Alien Race powers would crush them, and things would return to the way they were."
"That's why this Chen Dong is very clever. He used some unknown means to control an Alien Race force, using it as cover for himself.
For those lofty, universe-level major powers, they can't see the true situation in the local regions, nor would they bother spending time and effort on long-term on-site inspections.
As long as they're made to believe that a certain region isn't being steered by humans, they won't want to meddle, especially in some remote areas."
You felt a sense of kinship with Mr. Xun for being able to understand your strategy.
But you were also curious how the Torch Society's intelligence was so well-connected, so you asked.
Mr. Xun explained.
"We've been developing for so many years that our informants are now spread across every corner of the universe.
However, many of these informants don't even know they're working for the Torch Society. They just provide information that everyone around them already knows in exchange for payment.
This is also a means of protecting them."
"You don't seem surprised that I know you're members of the Torch Society."
"I imagine you've been following Brother Shen for quite some time. He's been completely oblivious, so you've likely already extracted a great deal of information from him. For me to keep pretending would just be plugging my ears while stealing a bell."
Shen Yifeng showed a look of shame on his face.
"I was too careless..."
Mr. Xun raised his hand.
"No, this Brother Chen is at a higher realm than you, and he likely carries more treasures on him as well. Besides, he shot the arrow first and drew the target afterward - he knew from the very beginning that you were a member of the Torch Society. It would have been impossible for you to detect him following and investigating you."
Shen Yifeng still didn't understand.
"How did you know I was a Torch Society member? I thought I'd never been exposed."
You coughed once.
This was a bit difficult to explain.
You couldn't very well say you knew from your previous life.
"Don't worry, your methods of concealing your identity and making contact are fine. Me discovering your identity was purely my own ability."
Shen Yifeng nodded, then began to mull over what you had said at the beginning.
"Were you being serious just now? You want to... start an uprising on Blazing Star too?"
"Something like that, but Blazing Star is a special case. There are too many First-tier Stars around it, and people frequently pass through the Channels. If we truly raised the banner of uprising, we'd easily be suppressed by meddlesome Alien Race forces.
I've already taken control of the Tiansha Sect.
My plan is to have the Tiansha Sect sweep across the planet on the surface, achieving unification.
In reality, the Tiansha Sect alone can't truly govern the entire planet's territory, especially since I'm secretly suppressing the sect's development.
So in the local regions, it's actually the Torch Society and our human forces that take over governance.
This way, at least in places far from the Tiansha Sect's core power, humans can live and cultivate in peace, without the extreme discrimination and oppression.
You'll also have an easier time screening for talents, protecting them, and nurturing them."
Over the past year, you had already formulated a detailed plan, including understanding the distribution of various factions across the planet, the topographical features, the population of Blazing Star's resident races and their cultivator distribution, and so on.
Now, in this rundown schoolhouse, you were unreservedly laying out your plan to Shen Yifeng and Mr. Xun.
Shen Yifeng's eyes were practically sparkling as he listened. He was already envisioning a Blazing Star where humans were no longer oppressed, where geniuses didn't have to hide and flee, and could cultivate normally.
But Mr. Xun's expression didn't change at all.
You talked until your mouth was dry, then took out a pot of tea from the Pot Heaven space and drank straight from the spout. Between gulps, you asked.
"Mr. Xun, what do you think? I don't know what your standing is in the Torch Society on Blazing Star, but I'd guess it's not low. Even if you can't make the decision yourself, you should be able to contact someone who can."
"What role would you like the Torch Society to play in this plan of yours?"
"While the Tiansha Sect's strength is among the top on Blazing Star, one sect challenging the entire planet still isn't enough.
I need you to mobilize your hidden forces to secretly coordinate with my sect's operations and eliminate the major Alien Race forces on Blazing Star.
To remove the mountain pressing down on Blazing Star's cultivators, we must physically destroy them!
Additionally, I'll need the Torch Society's talents to take over governance in various regions and turn around the current state of human life."
Shen Yifeng felt something was off as he listened, and ventured cautiously.
"Something about this feels more like a trap to me? If we do it your way, the Torch Society will be exposed. And after it's all done, you just need to kick the donkey once it's done grinding - and the Torch Society on Blazing Star would cease to exist?"
You mulled it over.
"True enough."
Shen Yifeng was speechless.
"You actually admitted it... And you said you've taken control of the Tiansha Sect. How did you manage that? Such a massive sect, you..."
Shen Yifeng trailed off mid-sentence, unable to continue.
Because right before their eyes, you transformed into Si Duoduo.
Whether observed with the naked eye or probed with Divine Sense-type abilities, no one could tell the difference between real and fake.
You even pulled off a few of Si Duoduo's signature moves - Dark Cloud Flight, Demon King Lightning, and the like.
"This is how I took control."
Shen Yifeng processed this for a moment, then his face lit up with sudden realization.
"You ARE Si Duoduo, aren't you?! You're impersonating a human to lure our Torch Society out so you can wipe us all out in one fell swoop? How sinister!"
The corner of your mouth twitched. You were speechless at this old man's way of thinking.
