[In the midst of the suffocating pressure.]
[Liu Tian slowly stood up inside the iron cage.]
[The heavy shackles kept his head bowed, yet this trembling old man shouted with a voice that shook the ears.]
["Yinger!! Your father only regrets growing old and lacking the strength to kill these alien invaders!]
You have the Great Commander leading you to slaughter them, the ancestors must be showing favor!!
Live on, and take back my share of revenge!
[Father goes first!!!"]
[Liu Tian used the last of his strength and slammed his body against the iron bars of the cage, killing himself on impact.]
["Father!!!"]
[On the battlefield, Liu Ying's eyes burst with agony.]
[Her father, her only kin, died so horribly before her. Even now that Liu Ying was the deputy commander of the Rebel Army, it was hard not to be overwhelmed by emotion.]
[She wanted to rush forward and fight Kedley to the death, but the rebel generals beside her held her back with desperate force.]
["Deputy Commander! Don’t go!"]
["That was my father!!"]
[Liu Ying's voice was hoarse, tears breaking through like a dam.]
[Liu Tian, in his own way, told the hostages and the Rebels present what they should do.]
[More people began to follow his example.]
[Kedley saw this and his mouth twisted with fury.]
["Stop them at once! You cannot let them die!"]
[Kedley's men tied the hostages to the iron bars with ropes to prevent them from smashing their heads against the rails.]
[But some still bit their tongues to die.]
[Kedley then had soldiers stuff their mouths shut.]
[Every time the hostages thought up a way to kill themselves, Kedley had to find a new method to stop them.]
["Damn it! What is this! I actually have to scheme to keep them alive. Is this what I should be doing?"]
[The Rebels watched their families being forced to die; though their hearts ached and their rage burned, their conviction did not waver.]
[They gathered around the star ship, protecting the Freedom.]
[At the same time, with the Formation Masters giving their all, the Star Harbor's Departure Sequence was initiated.]
[In the towering column of seven-colored light, a dazzling stream of starlight began to form and slowly rise.]
[This mysterious force wrapped around the massive star ship, and it gradually lifted into the sky.]
[At the same moment.]
[The bait-and-trap of the West Rebel Army was exposed, and the Eagle Legion returned.]
[Tens of thousands of Winged Clan members beat their wings and swooped in from all directions, their target clear: the star ship.]
[Returning with them were more than a dozen White Priests and their numerous subordinates.]
[Below, seeing his plan fail, Kedley began ordering his core troops and the Stationed Soldiers at the Star Harbor to attack your star ship.]
[The Rebels once had a numerical advantage, but now the enemy outnumbered them by several times.]
[Layer upon layer, they surrounded the Star Harbor until there was no way through.]
["Kill!! Exterminate the traitors!!"]
["Capture Chen Yi alive, reward one million Source Stones!"]
["What White Porridge Uprising? Today the Star Harbor will be where you all die!"]
[Enemies covered sky and ground.]
[The One-Line-Sky Grand Array required a huge amount of materials for its Formation Foundation. You had collected a great deal over the years, but setting the array took time, and the enemy was obviously not going to stand idly by.]
[Moreover, in the Real Realm, the so-called "immortal arrays" of the Void Realm were actually fourth-grade formations in the Real Realm, and their actual effectiveness was greatly reduced.]
[So now you couldn't effectively suppress those who could fly.]
[In addition, in the far sky, you could clearly see a patch of red hanging in midair.]
[It was a Red Cardinal!]
[He was not hovering by skill, but because he was Winged Clan he could fly.]
[The Red Cardinal had not personally engaged the Rebel Army until now, yet he had arrived!]
[Tens of thousands of rebels gripped their weapons, trusting their backs to their comrades; in their eyes there was no fear, only boundless hatred.]
[You stood on top of the star ship, eyes scanning the surroundings, ready to face the Eagle Legion.]
["Soldiers, board the ship immediately! I will hold them off for you!"]
[You hammered a fist into a control lever on the star ship. Countless ropes and ladders fell from the ship's sides, allowing many to board at once.]
[The Rebels never defied your orders, but this time, no one boarded.]
["What's wrong? Yinger? General Cheng? General Qin? Why aren't you boarding? If you don't board now you'll lose the chance!"]
[Liu Ying turned to look at you and forced a bitter smile.]
["Great Commander, we can't leave..."]
[You said in a low voice.]
["I know it's hard, but take as many as you can. Isn't that what we planned from the start? Didn't we already consider this?"]
[You had expanded the star ship to carry one hundred thousand people; that was the ideal.]
[But in practice, everyone knew that even if things went well, you couldn't possibly evacuate so many.]
[All could foresee that the battle at the Star Harbor would be brutal, and in the end those who could leave would be far fewer than expected.]
[Yet now, the Rebel Army refused to leave even a single person, which took you by surprise.]
[The enemy kept advancing.]
[Their ranged weapons were already being thrown.]
["Swoosh swoosh swoosh!!"]
[Each member of the Eagle Legion carried a pack of javelins.]
[They flew at high speed through the air and used that initial velocity to heave the javelins with terrifying impact.]
["Boom boom boom!!"]
[Each javelin could pierce from one end of the star ship to the other, leaving huge holes.]
[More and more holes appeared; the star ship was being torn apart.]
[You had already blocked many attacks.]
[But you could not enlarge yourself.]
[If you grew, the ship could not contain you; you would be less agile while defending, and might even accidentally crush the star ship while trying to protect it.]
[You could only intercept as many attacks as possible.]
["Ah!"]
[You gritted your teeth through the pain of broken bones and, using the Wolverine trait's bone-control effect, extended the metacarpal bones out from the back of your left hand to use as weapons, "crack crack crack," cutting many javelins in two.]
[Your right hand was the Qilin Arm, incredibly hard, which you used as a shield.]
[You also had the powerful Shen Family martial art, Stellar River Divine Art.]
[In the Real Realm it's very hard to control gravity, but even slightly altering the trajectories of those javelins so they didn't strike the star ship's core was quite useful.]
[In the heat of battle, you saw a scene that shocked you.]
[The Rebel soldiers threw themselves onto the surface of the star ship, grabbing whatever they could, stepping on the shoulders of those below them.]
[They used their flesh and blood to forge an armored wall for the star ship!]
["Pock pock pock!!"]
[Javelins pierced one after another, but more soldiers took their places; they charged forward, facing death without hesitation!]
["Protect the star ship!"]
["The star ship must not be destroyed!"]
["Great Commander! Board the ship! You must go!"]
[You realized someone was commanding the Rebels.]
[It wasn't you.]
[It was Liu Ying, it was Chen Guang, and many of the Rebel commanders.]
[Their way of protecting the ship didn't look improvised; it looked rehearsed for a long time.]
["You..."]
[You saw Liu Ying with blood at the corner of her mouth; she forced a grim smile and said to you.]
["Sorry, Great Commander. We discussed some things behind your back..."]
[Liu Ying and the others had planned: if the battle at the Star Harbor made evacuation too difficult and everyone couldn't leave, what should they do?]
[The answer was: if it's possible to leave, follow your plan and depart; if not, then risk everything to ensure you leave!]
["Yinger, the Great Commander doesn't need you to do this..."]
["But Great Commander, has there ever been a case in history where the commander dies and the soldiers live?"]
