"Small? Small is good! This old man likes them young!"
Listening to the pleas of the Sha Clan woman Ayisen, the Sha Clan Priest once again drooled and chuckled lecherously.
He had long coveted the two girls of this family, Shaana and Sha Yina.
To put it bluntly, the problem of water shortage in this family’s wheat field was actually his doing. He took the tributes from this household, performed a ritual to bring water, but only half of the normal amount, making it impossible for the wheat seedlings not to wither.
"Do you agree or not? If not, I’ll be leaving now! The next time I come will be in ten days." While speaking, the Sha Clan Priest Laxen made a gesture as if to leave.
The Sha Clan woman, the mother Ayisen, panicked, looking at her husband gasping for breath, then at her daughters, one just of age and the other not yet, her heart felt like it was being cut by a knife, caught in a dilemma.
If she agreed, her two daughters might become playthings, and this family would truly fall apart.
With no daughters, what was the point of having the wheat field?
But if she disagreed, her husband would die, the wheat field would wither, and the fate of the two daughters without a means of living wouldn’t be much better.
"Master, I beg you to have mercy, leave one daughter for us, please!" Mother Ayisen knelt there pleading, it was her only hope.
The Sha Clan Priest Laxen sneered coldly and strode away.
Before Ayisen could say anything, both daughters, Shaana and Sha Yina, rushed before the Sha Clan Priest Laxen, "Priest sir, we are willing to serve you, please save our father! We beg you!"
Seeing this, the Sha Clan Priest Laxen smiled smugly and bowed to the surroundings, "Fathers and elders, under the witness of the Yizhi Sand God, these two young girls are willing, I have not forced them at all."
With a stretch of his hand, he embraced the two tender girls into his arms.
This scene directly made the dying man open his eyes in anger and pass out. As a father, he absolutely did not want to see his daughters become someone else’s playthings.
Mother Ayisen was utterly stunned and dazed; she no longer knew how to choose.
Watching this, a surge of blood rushed to Ye Zhen’s head.
In Ye Zhen’s current situation, the best course of action in the face of this incident was to turn a deaf ear, walk by indifferently, as if he hadn’t seen it.
In doing so, it would be the safest.
However, Ye Zhen remembered his impulsive past, the passionate words he spoke then. There were too many injustices in this world, Ye Zhen wasn’t a deity, and even if he was, he couldn’t manage them all.
But as long as he encountered them, he would level the injustices!
"My blood... is still not cold!"
With rising determination, Ye Zhen stepped forward, appearing beside the man who had fainted from grief.
He gave a low shout at the Sha Clan Priest, Ye Zhen reached out his hand, and immediately understood the man’s condition.
Overworked, aggravated by heart issues, and heatstroke—not a serious illness, but if untreated, he wouldn’t last long.
A surge of rich Yimu Spiritual Power and Water Spiritual Power gently entered the man’s body, and as the spiritual power circulated in his tenacious meridians, most of the heat was dispelled, and his breath became steady.
The symptoms of heatstroke were alleviated to a large extent, and Qi and blood became smooth.
"Drink some water, rest for a day or two, and you’ll be well." Ye Zhen handed a water pouch.
The awakened Sha Clan man did not take Ye Zhen’s pouch but instead spoke to his daughters, "Ana, Yina, come back, even if I die, you must not serve him!
Laxen Priest already has three hundred wives and concubines, don’t you know?"
Seeing this, the two daughters wanted to return, but were firmly held by the Sha Clan Priest Laxen. "Gangli, think of your wheat field; do you want your whole family to perish with you?"
After speaking, Laxen stared unfavorably at Ye Zhen. "Young man, daring to meddle in the affairs of the Yizhi Temple Priest, you have got some nerve."
"Why can’t I? I can’t stand injustice with my eyes closed! Seeing this unfairness, I must manage!" Ye Zhen sneered.
"In this Yizhi Sand Sea, what abounds is sand, and no one can avoid getting sand in their eyes. With the Yizhi Sand God above, we will not bother with a young man blinded by sand."
"But if your intervention causes this family of four to die, by then, even the Yizhi Sand God won’t forgive you, no matter where you are, the Yizhi Sand God will mete out the strongest punishment and burn you to death."
Laxen at this moment was filled with sanctimoniousness, yet his words drastically changed the faces of the Sha Clan observers. Earlier, mother Ayisen and daughters Shaana and Sha Yina understood something, and their faces were filled with despair.
"Shaana, Sha Yina, if you still want your father to use the water he saves every day for irrigation and to fall ill again, just leave."
Following Laxen’s words, the expressions of the two girls turned extremely sorrowful.
The wheat field was about to die; their father poured every day’s drinking water into the wheat field for irrigation, yet it was a losing battle, resulting in severe illness.
But the problem was, this wheat field was the hope of their family.
Losing the income from this wheat field meant only death for their family.
"Young man, you might be able to heal Gangli with spiritual power, but you surely cannot save such a vast wheat field.
The hope for Gangli’s family’s survival rests within the power of the Yizhi Sand God!
Kneel here, bow to the Yizhi Sand God, repent sincerely, only then will the God forgive you." Laxen again acted sanctimoniously.
"God’s power?"
A cold smile appeared at the corner of Ye Zhen’s mouth as he paced a few steps, stepping into the center of the wheat field, spreading his arms, faint green light radiating beneath his feet.
Almost in the same moment, the wilted wheat seedlings close to death visibly revived.
First, they straightened their bodies, then the near-yellow stalks slowly gained a touch of green, finally turning entirely verdant.
After ten breaths, the surrounding hundred-plus acre wheat field transformed to glistening vitality, growing taller than the surroundings.
Ye Zhen himself didn’t feel much about this.
Because to Ye Zhen, after having penetrated the mysteries here, it was too easy.
Below this oasis, there was an underground river.
The seedlings couldn’t absorb the river’s moisture directly, yet Martial Artists could extract it using secret techniques, thereby watering these seedlings indirectly.
For other Martial Artists, precisely sending a mass of underground water to nearby fields was quite difficult.
But for Ye Zhen, he didn’t even need to do anything. Little Demon’s developed root system penetrated the earth deeply, and then connected to the short roots of the wheat seedlings here, directly sending moisture over.
In an instant, countless seedlings were irrigated.
Moreover, the water sent over contained a trace of weak Yimu Spiritual Power, making those nearly withered wheat seedlings come to life in a flash.
Ye Zhen thought this was completely normal.
But the surrounding Sha Clan people watching, including Gangli, Ayisen, Shaana, Shaina’s family of four, and Priest Laxen, all showed expressions as if they had seen a ghost.
To be precise, only Priest Laxen exhibited a ghost-like expression, while the other Sha Clan people gazed at Ye Zhen with intense fervor.
The reason was simple, Priest Laxen normally used this method to bring water and nourish seedlings.
However, after Priest Laxen’s intervention, usually, the wheat seedlings would show some improvement after one or two days, but only slight improvement, just enough to sustain growth.
The immediate transformation of wheat seedlings into radiant and vibrant condition, as seen with Ye Zhen’s method, had never occurred before.
Never before.
To the Sha Clan people, this was akin to witnessing a divine miracle, making them instantly go mad!
Nobody knew who started it, but nearly a thousand Sha Clan people in the vicinity fell to their knees, bowing towards Ye Zhen.
"Divine Envoy above!"
"The great Yizhi Sand God has not abandoned us and sent a Divine Envoy to save us."
"Divine Envoy above!"
Nearly a thousand people knelt together, and some elders, including Gangli’s family of four, rushed forward to kiss Ye Zhen’s barefoot, regardless of the fact that Ye Zhen’s feet had been traversing the desert for five or six days.
Though not smelly, certainly not very clean.
Yet these Sha Clan people, each as if seeing a treasure, kissed them, leaving Ye Zhen quite startled.
Witnessing this spectacle, Priest Laxen’s expression became exceedingly strange, he observed for a moment, and then quickly took to the sky and disappeared.
Ye Zhen wanted to pursue, but his legs were surrounded by Sha Clan people holding onto him, their grasp could easily be broken, but exerting force might hurt someone.
Ye Zhen could only watch helplessly as Laxen departed.
"Please, Divine Envoy, save us, bring down a miracle, save our wheat fields."
The Sha Clan people knelt there, encircling Ye Zhen and fervently pleading aloud.
Although it was a plea, their eyes were intensely fervent, gazing at Ye Zhen as if he was their god.
Without a doubt, the survival conditions for the Sha Clan were truly harsh.
The wheat seedlings of Gangli’s family were about to wither from thirst; while the seedlings of other families had a hint of green, their growth was far from ideal.
Now, in contrast to Gangli’s family’s thriving seedlings, they appeared like sickly ones.
It was a simple act that could save countless lives, something Ye Zhen was very willing to do.
After all, for Little Demon, bringing groundwater to the surface and accurately delivering it to the seedlings was as simple as eating or drinking.
"Move aside, let me perform the ritual."
Ye Zhen shouted lowly, and the Sha Clan people, as if hearing an Imperial Decree, swiftly moved away from Ye Zhen, then knelt outside the wheat fields, fixed their devout and fervent eyes on Ye Zhen.
The next moment, Ye Zhen stepped forward, and where his feet landed, the nearby wheat seedlings straightened visibly, turning crisp green and vibrant.
Within the span of a few breaths, the wheat seedlings within a range of several dozen miles became incredibly crisp green and full of vitality.
Kneeling outside the fields, the Sha Clan people could no longer contain their excitement, each using their special ritual of greeting the Sand God, crossing their arms above their heads, and shouting fervently towards Ye Zhen.
"Miracle is upon us, Divine Envoy above!"
"Divine Envoy above!"
"Divine Envoy above!"
The fervent and exalted cries spread instantly throughout the entire Black Sand Tribe, attracting more and more Sha Clan people to gather here.
At this moment, Ye Zhen’s heart inexplicably felt peaceful.
The previous dullness in his chest had completely vanished.
In this instant, Ye Zhen felt he had found himself again, found his heart.
Found his unrestrained and sincere heart.
Also, his heart of Martial Arts!
Instinctively, or perhaps subconsciously, Ye Zhen’s eyes focused only on the poorly growing or even withered wheat fields and the surrounding faint yellow desert plants facing death.
Green light flickered, figures moved, and wherever Ye Zhen passed, all wheat seedlings and desert plants within a radius of several thousand miles rejuvenated, withered Sea Buckthorn Trees, Sand Rice, Licorice, Poplars, Suosuo trees, Red Willows all came back to life.
The area surrounding the Black Sand Tribe instantly became vibrant and green!
When Ye Zhen stopped walking, seventy to eighty thousand men, women, and children of the Black Sand Tribe paid their most devout homage to Ye Zhen, fervently shouting.
"Divine Envoy’s miraculous power!"
"Divine Envoy above! Divine Envoy’s miraculous power!"
"Divine Envoy’s miraculous power!"
Leading the crowd, an elderly man in a decent black robe, tearfully shouted loudly towards Ye Zhen, "Hei Mann, Chief of the Black Sand Tribe, welcomes the arrival of the Divine Envoy!"
Ye Zhen also noticed, behind the tribe chief were three Realm King Realm Sha Clan Martial Artists, including the one who had previously eyed Ye Zhen with ill intent while selling him water, all kneeling there.
With fervent eyes fixed on Ye Zhen, tears of excitement overflowing, they shouted aloud the Divine Envoy’s miraculous power!
