“Are you Ye Zhen?”
With a graceful lift of her hand, Ye Zhen was suddenly grasped by the newly-arrived Fairy Caiyi like a doll, unable to move in the slightest, with only his eyeballs able to roll, unable to utter even half a word.
“Is this the might of a True Disciple, one who can clean up me more easily than they could an ant?” Ye Zhen was utterly shocked at this moment.
Although Outer Disciples were separated from True Disciples by only the Inner Sect Disciples, the gap, it should be said, was simply incomparable.
“Speak, are you Ye Zhen or not?” Fairy Caiyi’s beautiful brows knitted together, her face full of urgency.
Ye Zhen did want to reply, but the power from Fairy Caiyi held him so firmly that he could not even open his mouth.
How could he answer?
Just now, Hong Bao, who had been sent flying by a burst of cyan light from Fairy Caiyi, was struggling to his feet, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth, a flash of anger passing through his eyes.
As the second on the land ranking and a True Disciple, he was clearly aware of Fairy Caiyi’s reputation; thus, even though he felt incredibly wronged by the slap he’d just received, he didn’t dare utter a word of anger.
In fact, he was even thinking of attempting to ingratiate himself with Fairy Caiyi, her reputation within the Qiyun Sect not to be taken lightly.
Seeing Ye Zhen not speaking, Hong Bao hurriedly answered, “Fairy Caiyi, this bastard is Ye Zhen.
You’re searching for him so urgently, has he perhaps done something irreverent...”
Slap!
Just at that moment, a streak of Sword Light descended from the heavens, striking heavily on Hong Bao’s cheek.
Even though the strike was a flat slap, the sharp Sword Qi still left his face covered in blood.
His entire body was also sent flying by the immense force contained in the Sword Light, and blood spurted from his mouth as he was airborne.
“If it were not for Elder Hong’s sake, just for that remark alone, I could cripple you!” A dashing youth in white suddenly descended from the sky, his hair held up by a Jade Crown, a Jade Pendant hanging at his waist.
“Who in the entire Qiyun Sect dares to dishonor Caiyi?
Who has the ability to dishonor Caiyi?” The fierceness that exploded from the eyes of the youth in white terrified Hong Bao who was about to curse out loud, prompting him to hastily shut his mouth, not daring to utter another word.
“Caiyi, by restraining him like this, he can’t even open his mouth.
How can he answer you?” The youth in white approached and said softly to Fairy Caiyi’s side.
In the end, the youth in white added, “Caiyi, I think you should not seek help in such a panic.
This lad might just be another who wants to bluff his way into a reward.
In half a month, the Black Water Medicine King will return from Yizhou, and I’ll accompany you to find him to treat Su’er’s illness.”
“But, half a month, Su’er is now neither eating nor drinking, I fear she cannot last until that time...” As she spoke, a faint light of moisture shimmered in Fairy Caiyi’s eyes.
At the same time, Ye Zhen felt the terrifying force restraining him suddenly vanish, and his body lightened abruptly.
“That’s right, I am Ye Zhen.”
Seeing Ye Zhen speak, a trace of joy actually appeared on the pretty face of Fairy Caiyi, her bright eyes rippling, “Are you Ye Zhen?
Are you the one who said you’ve met Su’er once and are eighty percent confident of curing her (Huaa Li)?”
“That’s right.” Ye Zhen nodded again.
“Ye Zhen, is it?
If you dare to speak nonsense and deceive Caiyi into sadness, hmph!” The youth in white stepped forward and let out a cold snort.
The sound was not loud, but when it entered Ye Zhen’s ears, it was like a thunderclap, making his whole body tremble.
“Let me ask you, since you are eighty percent certain of curing Su Hao, then tell me, what exactly is the illness that Su’er has?” the youth in white demanded.
“This...” Ye Zhen was also somewhat hesitant at this time.
The matter might seem simple, but should it fail, the consequences were unpredictable; moreover, he hadn’t seen Huaa Li in one month and did not know if there had been any changes.
“That day, I only saw her from a distance and felt that Huaa Li was unusual.
Now, a month has passed...”
“Caiyi, you see, this Ye Zhen is surely another charlatan trying his luck.
You must not...” The youth in white directly interrupted Ye Zhen’s words.
“Senior Brother Fan, let him finish speaking,” Fairy Caiyi gently furrowed her brows and said.
Hearing Fairy Caiyi’s address, Ye Zhen’s heart began to cry out.
It turned out that this youth in white was the very Fan Chuyu mentioned by the Sect Steward.
The very same Fan Chuyu who had tried to gain Caiyi’s favor and had come off worse for wear.
“To confirm what ails Huaa Li now, I must observe that Huaa Li in detail,” Ye Zhen decided it was better to be cautious for now.
“Alright, I’ll take you to Fairy Peak.”
Without allowing Ye Zhen to explain, Fairy Caiyi grabbed his shoulder, and the two of them soared into the sky, flying rapidly toward Fairy Peak.
Such a sudden ascent scared Ye Zhen, who, despite always yearning to fly freely in the sky, was now experiencing it for the first time.
Especially upon looking down, Ye Zhen became extremely nervous.
In his nervousness, hanging in mid-air with no firm foothold, he began to flail about, seeking something to hold on to.
In mid-air, there was only Fairy Caiyi beside Ye Zhen, what could he grab onto for support?
After groping around, Ye Zhen’s hands felt something soft.
Instantly his nostrils were filled with fragrance as his hands encircled Fairy Caiyi’s waist, his body clinging tightly to hers.
Behind them, Fan Chuyu, who had just rushed up into the sky, clenched his fists tightly when he saw this scene, fury blazing in his eyes, “You bastard, what are you doing...”
Before Fan Chuyu could complete his curse, Ye Zhen’s first encounter on the other side had already ended before it could even begin.
The moment Ye Zhen’s hands had wrapped around Fairy Caiyi’s waistline, his palms softened, and he felt Caiyi’s body trembling slightly; suddenly a surge of cyan light emerged on Caiyi’s body, and it was as if Ye Zhen had been struck by lightning.
His entire body went numb, making Ye Zhen feel like coughing up blood, his hands that had just held onto Fairy Caiyi’s waist going numb as if they were not part of him, the earlier sensation from the ground returning once more.
His body tightened once more and Ye Zhen became completely immobile again, as the fierce wind brought on by his swift flight through the sky drilled into his slightly open mouth, which he couldn’t close, making Ye Zhen feel as though he was suffocating.
In such a petrified state, Ye Zhen was carried all the way to Fairy Peak by Fairy Caiyi, who, being kind-hearted, did not toss him onto the ground.
Rather, Ye Zhen was met with the piercing gaze of the white-clothed young master, Fan Chuyu, as if he wanted to eat Ye Zhen alive.
Fairy Peak was Fairy Caiyi’s cultivation ground, and it was said that each True Disciple of the Qiyun Sect had an independent peak for their cultivation.
“This is Su’er, take a good look at her.
For some unknown reason, a month and a half ago, Su’er suddenly became very irritable, she even bit me, and later, she stopped eating and drinking.
Now, she’s gone mad, biting anyone she sees.
I had no choice but to lock her in a cage.”
Fairy Caiyi brought over an exquisitely crafted iron cage, where the originally lovable and pitiful Hua Li was now baring her sharp fangs and wildly howling at Ye Zhen.
His expression changing, Ye Zhen focused his mind and listened intently.
“ Kid, if you can’t cure Hua Li today, you’re going to pay for it!” came the unfriendly voice of the white-clothed young master, Fan Chuyu.
After a long pause, Ye Zhen slowly straightened up, “Fairy Caiyi, I am now seventy percent sure of the reason why Hua Li has become like this.”
“What’s the reason?” Fairy Caiyi hurriedly asked.
“Fairy Caiyi, before I answer, I need to ask you a few questions to confirm my suspicions,” said Ye Zhen.
“Ask away.
As long as it can cure Su’er, anything goes.”
“Fairy Caiyi, has Hua Li ever had this kind of behavior before?”
“Not since she’s been with me, never!”
“How many years has Hua Li been with you?
How old is she?”
“Over four years.
Hua Li is also four and a half years old.
I picked her up in the back mountain more than four years ago, she seemed to have been born not long before, all pink and chubby.
From the age of one, she was quite understanding and has been accompanying me.”
“In that case, I am even more confident,” the self-assured look in Ye Zhen’s eyes intensified.
If previously he was seventy percent sure, now Ye Zhen was ninety-nine percent confident.
“Oh, you’re certain now, so tell me, what’s wrong with Hua Li?” Fan Chuyu urged, while Fairy Caiyi also looked at Ye Zhen anxiously, her pretty face filled with anticipation.
“Fairy Caiyi, actually Hua Li is not sick, it’s because....”
Ye Zhen hesitated mid-sentence, as Fairy Caiyi appeared young and innocent, which made it difficult for Ye Zhen to explain—how to tell Fairy Caiyi that Hua Li’s madness and irritability were due to her breeding season?
Hua Li was at the instinctive time for mating, how could Ye Zhen vocalize this?
Moreso when there was a huge Killing God nearby—The white-clothed young master, Fan Chuyu.
Ye Zhen guessed that if he were to say Hua Li’s breeding season had arrived and she needed to mate, the white-clothed young master would definitely think Ye Zhen was insulting Fairy Caiyi, and in a fit of anger, might slay Ye Zhen on the spot.
The treatment Hong Bao received just moments earlier flashed vividly in Ye Zhen’s mind—Hong Bao was merely uttering the word ‘disrespectful’ and was beaten to such a state.
If Ye Zhen were to...
Fan Chuyu, being a True Inheritor of the Qiyun Sect, could eliminate Ye Zhen with just a flick of his finger.
Ye Zhen hesitated, his gaze uncertainly shifting toward the white-clothed young master, Fan Chuyu, who was momentarily puzzled and somewhat oblivious.
However, Fairy Caiyi, extremely eager for Ye Zhen to state the reason, misinterpreted Ye Zhen’s actions, believing that he was afraid to speak because of Fan Chuyu’s earlier threats.
“Senior Brother Fan, I ask you to leave Fairy Peak for now,” said Fairy Caiyi.
In fact, Fairy Caiyi was rather annoyed with Senior Brother Fan, who lingered around her all day long.
“What?” Fan Chuyu was stunned.
“Senior Brother Fan, I need to treat Su’er, please leave quickly!” Fairy Caiyi’s expression was quite displeased.
Fan Chuyu glared at Ye Zhen, and in an instant, he understood.
He was furious and wanted to explode, but he suppressed his rage.
He was well aware of Fairy Caiyi’s outwardly gentle but inwardly firm character and knew how much she adored Hua Li; if he angered Fairy Caiyi at this juncture, she might genuinely start to despise him, and then he would never have a chance again.
Shooting Ye Zhen a spiteful glance, Fan Chuyu’s figure flashed, and he soared into the air to leave.
Watching Fan Chuyu soar away, Ye Zhen felt wrongly accused; he never intended for Fan Chuyu to step aside.
“Ye Zhen, what’s the reason, can you tell me now?”
