The actions of Little Thirty-Six caught the attention of the other spiritual fish.
As a result, all forty-nine spiritual fish unconsciously gathered beneath the waterfall.
Then, one by one, as if their bloodlines had been awakened, they began to swim upstream, continuously climbing!
The sheer force of their effort stirred excitement in everyone watching.
Seeing this, Little Cai was eager to try and swam to the base of the waterfall, then moved upstream.
It easily reached the top of the waterfall and even passed through the gate, but nothing happened at all.
Little Cai swam back and forth in front of the gate, looking puzzled before turning to Su Yuan with a confused expression.
Su Yuan laughed and said, “You are a Nine-Colored Celestial Fish;your bloodline is probably just that one type. But them, who knows how many bloodlines they have. Among them, there might be a lineage from the Dragon Clan. This is their opportunity. You just help watch and don’t let them get hurt.”
Little Cai innocently blew a bubble, then flew to the middle of the waterfall, curiously watching the spiritual fish’s actions.
Little Li also flew over to Little Cai’s side, cheering and encouraging the spiritual fish.
Su Yuan watched with interest as well.
After three hours, the spiritual fish’s progress had almost reached a bottleneck. The strongest, Little Thirty-Six, could only reach one-third of the waterfall’s height. The chance to leap over the Silver Gate still seemed distant and unattainable.
Su Yuan shook his head, “This is really not easy!”
While observing, Su Yuan suddenly realized a fact: this opportunity to leap over the Dragon Gate was only given to spiritual fish in the Qi Refining Stage. Once a spiritual fish broke through to the Profound Stage, equivalent to the Foundation Establishment level, the Dragon Clan bloodline inside would be suppressed by the normal bloodlines to near invisibility, causing them to lose the chance to leap the Dragon Gate.
So this kind of chance was incredibly rare but also extremely difficult.
Su Yuan thought for a moment and decided to give them some help.
“Success depends on Little Cai, and failure too. Because of Little Cai’s bloodline influence, your potential has been greatly enhanced, which is why you have the chance to climb to the peak of the Yellow Rank. But because of the enhancement of Little Cai’s bloodline, your Dragon Clan bloodline is being suppressed.”
Su Yuan understood their situation clearly. Without Little Cai, these spiritual fish might not even reach the lower first rank, but now they could reach the peak of the upper first rank, all thanks to the overwhelming strength of Little Cai’s bloodline. However, this also meant that Little Cai’s influence on them was too great.
Su Yuan called Little Cai back.
Little Cai quickly flew over.
“You’ll stay by the lake and play with Little Li these days!” Su Yuan said.
Little Cai nodded in confusion, then ran off to play tail-slapping games with Little Li.
Su Yuan, based on the “Seven Star Profound Body Tempering Technique,” immediately modified it on the spot to create a cultivation method suitable for the spiritual fish.
The special aspect of this method was that it changed the training direction—from strengthening the body to purifying the bloodline, allowing these spiritual fish to purify their strongest internal bloodline!
Modifying this technique was relatively simple for Su Yuan;he didn’t even break the technique’s cooldown and easily created it.
“Let’s call it the ‘Seven Star Pure Blood Secret Technique’!”
Su Yuan pointed, and forty-nine beams of spiritual light flew into the bodies of the spiritual fish.
Suddenly, the spiritual fish were stunned in place;some even sank to the bottom of the water.
Su Yuan’s expression remained calm as he sat by the lake and waited.
Soon, some spiritual fish regained their senses. Because of the foundation from the “Seven Star Profound Body Tempering Technique,” they quickly grasped the new method and began purifying their bloodlines.
Little Thirty-Six was the first to wake up. It surfaced and gratefully bowed to Su Yuan, then immediately rejoined the effort to break through the waterfall.
Su Yuan smiled;there was quite a bond between him and these spiritual fish. Although they were only at the upper Yellow Rank, their intelligence was equivalent to that of thirteen- or fourteen-year-old humans, far higher than Little Cai. Usually, these fish acted foolishly only because they were cooperating with Little Cai.
The change in cultivation method also brought changes to the spiritual fish.
Every time Little Thirty-Six struck the waterfall, the four-colored radiance on its body dimmed slightly, while its Dragon Clan bloodline subtly increased!
This was no illusion. This was the inherent effect of the Dragon Gate leap. The waterfall itself had the function of purifying Dragon Clan bloodlines. The internal and external effects combined to make the spiritual fish’s transformation more obvious and rapid.
To Su Yuan’s surprise, some spiritual fish’s four-colored radiance did not fade but grew stronger. Although the number of colors dropped from four to two, their Nine-Colored Celestial Fish bloodline increased!
Their performance against the waterfall even declined, but their aura rapidly grew stronger!
In other words, in the natural selection of bloodline purification, the Dragon Clan bloodline was suppressed. They chose Little Cai’s bloodline.
Su Yuan clicked his tongue in amazement.
The acquired bloodline surpassed the innate bloodline inside their bodies. Little Cai’s bloodline level was already stronger than some Dragon Clan members. No wonder it was the Nine-Colored Celestial Fish.
Among these spiritual fish, Su Yuan also noticed a particularly special one: Little Nine!
It neither transformed toward the Dragon Clan bloodline nor approached the Nine-Colored Celestial Fish bloodline. Instead, its body turned silver, like the Silver Radiance Water!
Obviously, there was a bloodline in it that was extremely compatible with the Silver Radiance Water. Given the geographical advantage, its bloodline choice shifted in this direction.
Su Yuan could only sigh at the wonders of all things.
By this time, twenty-seven days had passed.
He had been watching the spiritual fish try to leap the Dragon Gate for almost an entire month.
He sensed the spiritual fish growing restless!
“Is time running out?” Su Yuan understood and looked at the gate in the sky, which had already started to become faint and blurry.
Clearly, the opportunity to leap the Dragon Gate was rarer than he imagined. But there was little more he could do to help because outsiders interfering with the leap was difficult. Otherwise, the legend of how hard it was to leap the Dragon Gate wouldn’t exist.
At this moment, the strongest, Little Thirty-Six, had already covered nine-tenths of the distance, but the last tenth was even harder than the previous nine-tenths.
The others were between eight-tenths and nine-tenths.
They were so close but just couldn’t reach it. How unbearable that must be!
Su Yuan could clearly see the unwillingness and helplessness in their eyes.
He sighed and then shouted to them, “Can you cooperate? One after another, pushing each other in a relay!”
His words caused the spiritual fish attempting the leap to pause.
A group of spiritual fish gathered at the base of the waterfall and communicated with each other.
In the end, all forty-nine spiritual fish began the challenge again.
But this time, there was a difference.
All the spiritual fish started to leap simultaneously!
When they reached one-third of the way, the fish that had shifted toward the Nine-Colored Celestial Fish bloodline first showed signs of weakness.
They swam directly below the Dragon Clan bloodline fish and then slapped their tails with all their might!
Those Dragon Clan bloodline fish also slapped back from the opposite direction!
Clap! Clap! Clap!
The crisp sounds echoed around the lake. The tense atmosphere made Little Cai and Little Li stop playing, and Su Yuan was filled with anticipation.
At the one-third point of the waterfall, the two groups of fish completed a relay!
The Nine-Colored Celestial Fish bloodline spiritual fish gave a boost to their companions, causing those fish to leap faster and higher!
Soon, the second batch of fish reached two-thirds of the way. Some felt hopeless and, following the first batch’s method, slapped their tails precisely to relay with the remaining fish still rushing the Dragon Gate!
The first batch knocked out twenty spiritual fish;the second batch knocked out fifteen, leaving fourteen spiritual fish to continue swimming upstream!
They quickly reached nine-tenths of the distance together!
At this point, all of them had grown stronger than ever before, each possessing the potential to leap the Dragon Gate.
But none of them chose to gamble. Instead, seven spiritual fish resolutely gave up!
The seven fish swam below the other seven fish.
Little Thirty-Six and Little Seven exchanged a glance. Their eyes met briefly in midair. Little Seven’s eyes were filled with encouragement and hope, while Little Thirty-Six’s eyes flashed with emotion and confidence!
Their tails collided. Riding that force, Little Thirty-Six suddenly surged upward again. Bursting with renewed strength, it rapidly approached the Dragon Gate.
Beside it, the other six fish completing the relay also ascended quickly.
Seven spiritual fish, carrying the hopes of the remaining fish, boldly leapt over the top of the waterfall!
They succeeded!
Little Thirty-Six’s head was the first to pass through the Dragon Gate. At that moment, a strange heavenly law descended. Its flat fish head transformed into a dragon’s head!
Dragon horns appeared, dragon mouth, dragon whiskers, dragon scales—its fish head completely transformed into a dragon’s head! The golden scales looked extremely noble! This was a Golden Dragon!
Behind the dragon head were the dragon body and dragon claws. The rapid and wondrous transformation caused onlookers to marvel at the mysteries of the heavens and earth!
Su Yuan felt a surge of insight. Without hesitation, he activated his technique state, triggering it four times. The usual thirty-day cooldown instantly converted into four minutes of enlightenment.
The various transformations of Little Thirty-Six and the six other spiritual fish immediately caught Su Yuan’s eye. The mysterious heavenly law also revealed a corner before him.
The “Dao Follows Nature” technique triggered!
Su Yuan’s comprehension became richer and deeper. The changes originating from the bloodline shocked him profoundly.
The spiritual fish’s transformation was very brief, just a few minutes, yet they completed an astonishing change from fish to dragon.
They evolved!
At the moment they passed the Dragon Gate, their aura leapt directly from first rank to the peak of third rank—a truly defiant leap against fate!
This should have been a joyous moment for the seven spiritual fish, but Little Thirty-Six, newly transformed, turned its head toward the spiritual fish in Silver Radiance Lake and toward Su Yuan and Little Cai on the shore.
Two streams of dragon tears flowed from its dragon eyes. It opened its dragon mouth, seemingly wanting to say something.
But its body gradually began to fade away!
The remaining six spiritual fish transformed into Azure Dragon, Yellow Dragon, and others, also turned to look downward. Their dragon eyes were filled with longing and reluctance!
Their figures vanished, along with the Dragon Gate itself, completely disappearing without a trace.
Clearly, this Dragon Gate had a built-in teleportation function, forcibly taking the newly transformed dragons away!
Su Yuan sighed softly, “Children all have their moment to soar through the heavens and earth. From now on, your future depends on yourselves!”
Su Yuan stretched out his palm. Fourteen drops of dragon tears fell from the air, resting in his palm, forming fourteen precious pearls of various colors.
