Therefore, although coming from the Tianshan Main Altar would have been closer, the locals in Dui State’s resistance to the Divine Sect was the most intense. Yet, the Divine Sect couldn’t simply give up on this place, so to avoid escalating conflicts, they actually indirectly managed the area through many external forces. Plus, the Beikunlun Region, with its mountains and deserts, has an extremely complex terrain; various forces are intertwined, making the situation incredibly complicated. This was why Tie Dan and his companion chose to smuggle from Dui State to avoid the sect’s surveillance.
Xun Lingrui transmitted a message,
"It’s the Radiant Aspect Mother of the Five Elements Sect. I heard that the Radiant Aspect Technique was originally an ancient cultivation technique from the Western Regions’ foreign teachings, capable of capturing someone’s soul and misleading their Daoist Heart. This group of witches is pretending to be virtuous again, beguiling people’s hearts!"
Tie Dan also followed her gaze and looked up, indeed spotting a group of white-robed nuns in the crowd. Though judging on first impressions is often biased, Tie Dan had to admit that at first glance, they didn’t appear to be proper people. Their cool attire was even more exaggerated than Tie Dan’s previous ostentatious outfits; the silk robes barely covered the essentials, and with slightly exaggerated movements, everything was exposed. At first glance, it was hard to tell if the shiny white areas were fabric or skin. If it weren’t for the prayer bead headscarves, one might think they were dancing girls.
Focusing further, each of these nuns had fair skin and beauty, youthful and radiant, all practicing cultivation despite being adorned with makeup and powdered, clearly not proper monks. Their chanting voices carried a melodic rhythm, and slight teasing breaths raised a faint mist on their skin, evidently all cultivators. Behind their head, a light wheel glowed like a halo, radiating warm and brilliant Divine Light, seemingly a use of the Primordial Spirit Method, as if it added a layer of lighting and applied a filter, making their appearance sacred and unassailable. A mere glance by mortals at this Divine Light would make them admire and yearn for these nuns, probably what the so-called Radiant Aspect Technique was.
And around them, those making offerings and presenting tributes were unsurprisingly all men. They queued up, handing over money and supplies as Tribute, each bowing before the Radiant Aspect Mother’s seat, kneeling and flattering freely. Meanwhile, the nuns assessed those offering, selectively choosing potential candidates. Occasionally, someone chosen would happily follow the nun indoors, likely to receive some exclusive one-on-one private cultivation guidance. After roughly a quarter of an incense stick’s time, they’d exit again, seemingly having become Buddha-like, faces filled with peace and tranquility, devoid of worldly troubles...
Ahem, well, apparently these Radiant Aspect Mothers are practicing multi-path cultivation, including both color and joy...
Xun Lingrui glanced sideways at Tie Dan,
"Senior, shall we get rid of these demons?"
Tie Dan was perplexed,
"What’s the point of that? Nowadays, it’s the chaotic end times; there’s nothing wrong with seizing the moment. Besides, they’re paying for it."
Xun Lingrui was speechless, glancing sideways at the already Buddha-like man walking past,
"But they’re not only taking the Yang Yuan from these men, their Seven Spirits are gradually being hooked, eventually exhausting their Yang Yuan and turning them into Elixir Residue. These evil demons and heretics, performing harmful acts, shouldn’t we intervene?"
Tie Dan shook his head,
"Forget it; they neither pulled nor snatched them in, the water and land Daoist field is right here for them to enter voluntarily; what kind of karma is that? These days, such acts are considered kind folks."
"But..."
"Indeed, indeed, what Fellow Daoist says is quite right."
Xun Lingrui was startled! Suddenly realizing someone was behind them! Without a word, she swung a palm backward!
Fortunately, someone was watching, so her reckless swing was halted midway as Tie Dan grabbed her wrist, setting her behind him to bow with the person behind them,
"Apologies, my junior niece has had weak Chong Meridian lately, mentally impatient and agitated, Qi Breath abrupt and fiery, acting impulsively; I ask Divine Monarch to forgive us generously."
The person smiled and bowed back,
"Seeing your outfits, you seem like old acquaintances of my sect, a rare sight today, fate with Buddha offers you sweet tea, a gentle bond."
Only then did Xun Lingrui recognize the clothing of the Divine Monarch behind them, obviously the Radiant Aspect Mother she just scolded as demonic witch non-stop.
Naturally, this person possessed the Divinity Transformation Realm, befitting the guardian of the Divine Altar here. Thus, compared to those ordinary nuns preaching magic in the outdoor field, her makeup was slightly more dignified, wearing one or two additional fine gauzes, holding a branch in hand, the kind of magic treasure unknown, emanating a three-layered halo behind her head, enveloped in a radiant light showing nothing but a kindly and gentle visage.
Yet, kindly and gentle anyone can be, Tie Dan too, smiled pleasantly and nodded,
"Alright, then we’ll intrude, please."
Seeing Tie Dan truly going along, pulling her unable to break free, Xun Lingrui became anxious, feeling someone recognized them as ’old acquaintances’ yet not taking action?
As if knowing her thoughts, Tie Dan turned his head, giving her an irritable look,
"Do you know how to use the Eye Covering Technique?"
"...What?"
Tie Dan admonished,
"A leaf blocks the view of a mountain. Two beans seal the ears against thunder. The Eye Covering Technique is for shrouding your own Divine Light, teaching you to focus, preserve breath, shade eye and block view, essentially asking you to cover your own sight and focus your attention on the technique, do not let your Primordial Spirit scatter everywhere staring aimlessly! You stare at others, others can also stare at you! Glaring straight at someone’s Daoist field - what kind of blocking, what eye covering is that? Add to that Divine Thought Power brimming with murderous intent and anger, aren’t you exposing yourself?"
Xun Lingrui wasn’t dumb, immediately realizing being driven by Karma, caught in a tribulation.
"Then do you know what Karma is?"
Like an insect in her stomach, Tie Dan asked again.
Xun Lingrui couldn’t help but shake his head.
Tie Dan asked the Radiant Aspect Mother beside him,
"Does the Divine Monarch know."
The Radiant Aspect Mother was gentle and kind,
"Karma means thought. Once thought occurs, actions will follow through body, speech, and mind, creating karma. Once there’s intentional thought, karma arises. The good and bad karma created by all beings will ultimately endure, and through karmic connections, the consequences are borne."
Tie Dan nodded,
"What we think, say, act upon, all create karma, which leads to cause and effect.
The specifics of your current situation is that you’ve stayed hidden in the mountains for too long without normal social interaction. Emei Taoist Skill isn’t suitable for women to cultivate, thus the more Qi Breath is practiced, the more it becomes congested, leading your Daoist Heart to become unstable, filled with distractions, subconsciously seeking trouble.
Especially now, seeing others engaging in Dual Cultivation makes you inexplicably angry, witnessing others’ joy in their careers sets your heart ablaze. You’re easily provoked, showing that you’ve suppressed it for too long, you’re anxious, and want to find a Daoist companion."
Xun Lingrui was momentarily stunned, then reacted, fuming with rage,
"Ha!!? What nonsense are you spewing!! Stop talking trash!!"
However, Tie Dan ignored her and looked at the Radiant Aspect Mother again,
"Did your Five Elements Sect receive teachings from the Xiaoyao Dao?"
The Radiant Aspect Mother was kindly and benevolent,
"The Fellow Daoist has sharp insight, in the early years, Supreme Xiaoyao swept through Kunlun, our sect’s Five Elements Buddha Mother was fortunate to worship at the Sword Master’s feet, receiving personal guidance, blessed with some wonderful teachings. Over these years, we’ve continually pondered and researched, incorporating the Carefree Technique into the Jile Dao’s Joy and Color, ensuring Fellow Daoist utmost freedom and joy, ascending to Jiuxiao."
Tie Dan gestured towards Xun Lingrui,
"There’s no need to ascend to Jiuxiao that high, do you have essential oil massages? Give her one, with a water therapy, to release the fury, sparing me from dealing with endless trouble."
The Radiant Aspect Mother smiled and acknowledged,
"Dare not disobey."
Xun Lingrui was furious,
"Let’s see who dares!!"
Unfortunately, just as she was about to resist, she realized that her meridian was captured by Tie Dan, all her Qi acupoints were sealed, leaving her unable to move!
Xun Lingrui was startled! Just about to bite her tongue, igniting her blood to fight desperately, perishing together!
Who knew that Tie Dan beside her rolled his eyes, and Xun Lingrui suddenly felt her Qi veins stirring, Primordial Spirit roaring, mind shaking, hit by a move of Oscillation Sword Technique, left dazed like a puppet, led away by two nuns for the massage.
Tie Dan shook his head, the Mystic Sect has fallen, yet there are hundreds of people, no one can find a Daoist companion... But on the other hand, Emei’s education is flawed, being hundreds of years old True Monarch, still treat her like a child...
After dismissing idlers, Tie Dan was invited inside to take the upper seat. The Radiant Aspect Mother dropped her pretense, and with serious expression,
"May I ask the Fellow Daoist, where did you obtain this corpse you currently use."
Tie Dan touched his face,
"Why, do you recognize her?"
The Radiant Aspect Mother nodded solemnly,
"Of course, I recognize her, she is my Junior Sister, she was just kidnapped."
Tie Dan also nodded,
"I see, I thought you looked familiar, but there’s too much riffraff to remember who it was. So, what’s your name?"
The Radiant Aspect Mother was silent for a moment, holding a twig, slowly spoke,
"I am from White Dragon Temple, Taohua Courtyard, commonly called Taozhi."
