Master Taichong waited outside for seven days, when suddenly he saw moonlight illuminate the sky, as if a full moon was slowly rising from the gorge.
A vast moonlight shone, pure white like the clouds, imbued with Taiyin brilliance, illuminating the majestic courtyard. Soon, the moon power gathered, as if clouds parted to reveal the moon, and from the dense mist emerged a beam of light and shadow.
Looking closely, it was a young man with crane-white hair and a youthful face, his skin glowing, hair white as snow, and eyes shining like the moon, stepping out of the gorge. This man wore a green robe, his eyes emitting lightning, a bright moon gathered behind his head, and the glow from the moonlight seemed to merge into him like starlight.
Master Taichong, watching from the side, was momentarily struck dumb with amazement.
"Hiss... Could it be, Brother Tie..."
Having been nourished by pure Primordial Yin, the rejuvenated Tie Dan clasped his hands in salute,
"Many thanks to True Monarch for your protection, I have obtained the Xiaoyao Sect’s true transmission of Light Control."
Master Taichong gazed at the moonlike shadow behind his head, continuously exclaiming in admiration,
"The Divine Court shining brightly... Could it be, Fellow Daoist you have already..."
Tie Dan shook his head,
"This technique is by no means of the Righteous Path; I was one step away from crossing over, but I didn’t."
Master Taichong immediately sighed with admiration. If he had any doubts or hesitations before, at this moment, he was genuinely impressed.
How many in this world reach the threshold of the Nascent Soul Realm, yet can consider their path lacking in righteousness, and take a step back?
"Fellow Daoist, to resist the allure of breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm, such stability, such courage, such a Daoist heart, is truly a model for our generation. The humble Daoist salutes you."
"The True Man overpraises me."
Indeed, the Xiaoyao Sect’s Light Control lineage is truly a superior Dao Sect, a first-class Mysterious Sect, with rapid cultivation, astounding true transmissions. Even the cultivation techniques and equipment, Magic Couple Materials and Land, are all prepared. If Tie Dan focused seriously on cultivating this path, he might have already formed the Taiyin Nascent Soul. However, he was unwilling, so he withdrew early.
It’s not that Tie Dan was boasting or thinking too highly of himself. It’s not that he couldn’t appreciate the wonders of the Xiaoyao Sect due to a lack of comprehension either.
In fact, Tie Dan truly understood.
The Xiaoyao inheritance in this Immortal Tomb was not intended for breaking through to the Nascent Soul Realm! It was prepared for breaking through to the Divinity Transformation Realm!
Indeed, the Xiaoyao technique of Light Control has some merits. According to the pictorial and verbal descriptions in those stone chambers, this place was originally designed with these Sun and Moon Pools, Yin and Yang twin corpses, to absorb the breath of heaven and earth, essence of sun and moon, and become Heavenly Materials Treasures containing the celestial Primordial Yang and Primordial Yin, especially for the Xiaoyao Sect disciples, to use for energy replenishment to break through these secret realms.
In other words, it was necessary for someone like Supreme Bliss, who had obtained the Xiaoyao True Transmission, to cultivate an androgynous, dual-form Dao Body, to enter the tomb for secret refinement, to gather Taiyin Yin Element, replenish Sun’s Yang Element, and thus with all five energies merging into one, united with both Yin and Yang, could rush directly to the Divinity Transformation Realm, equivalent to gathering the combined boost from the two immortal corpses in the pools for a complete merging with heaven and earth.
However, Tie Dan didn’t even fully gather the Yin Element, because he only realized during the final stages of training that without the Xiaoyao True Transmission, without being in the Nascent Soul Realm, and without being in dual-form Yin yang Dao Body, it would be impossible to reach the Divinity Transformation Realm, nor could he refine and absorb such high purity Yin Yang Elements.
So, if he really enforced cultivation, gathered the Power of Taiyin to break through and form the Taiyin Nascent Soul, he would also be invaded by the Yin Element, and eventually his Dao Body would involuntarily mimic the Taiyin Corpse, transforming into the Taiyin Female Form...
Therefore, at that time, his previous Mystic Sect skills would be wasted, and he would truly need to switch to the Xiaoyao lineage completely, cultivate according to this path, and then after the breakthrough he would have to go next door and replenish the Yang Element from the Sun Corpse for Divinity Transformation, and if that wasn’t enough, he might even have to collect more elsewhere, seeking Yang to complement Yin, it would indeed be a monumental task...
Hence, Tie Dan simply decided not to form the Nascent Soul, promptly stepped back from the threshold.
Alright, in simple terms, this Immortal Tomb’s inheritance probably was originally left for Supreme Bliss as an Immortal Fate, perhaps as what is called a line of Heavenly Mechanism, meant as a turnaround opportunity left to the Xiaoyao Sect lineage.
Considering Supreme Bliss in the Nascent Soul Realm, already possessing all five elements, so powerful that Mystic Sect couldn’t suppress him, should he get into the Sun and Moon Pools here, obtain all the Sun and Moon Power, and break through to the Divinity Transformation Realm, who in the world could contend with him?
Perhaps he was truly about to establish a sect and revive the Xiaoyao Demon Path.
However, fortunately, Kun didn’t completely trick him. The Xiaoyao Sect indeed is a serious Mystic Sect, and its inheritance didn’t solely focus on dual cultivation for energy replenishment. Rather, replenishment was indeed a shortcut trick, and this line, which once opened a sect at Danxia Mountain, also has its own true transmission, which involves the secret method of gathering Sun and Moon Power, and the secret method of Light Control and refining Radiant Essence.
Yes, the greatest inheritance Tie Dan obtained from the Immortal Tomb was actually a secret technique called "Taiyin Ice Wheel Moonlight Immortal Light".
Just as the Sword Sect’s Nine Luminaries include the Neon Light and Shadow’s four realms, the Xiaoyao inheritance in this Immortal Tomb was originally designed to cultivate the light of Sun and Moon, the dual wheels of ice and flames, and Moonlight Immortal Light. After reaching the Nascent Soul Realm, it would naturally pass down the Tao of Light Control and refining Radiant Essence to disciples, this immortal light being the secret refining technique that was not to be transmitted outside, teaching the method of refining Taiyin Yin Element through moonlight, and solidifying Taiyin Moonlight’s techniques, until mastery could achieve the true light of Ice Wheel Moonlight, and even have the Divine Skill of flight under moonlight.
Only Tie Dan calculates, this flight under moonlight, though flamboyant, consumes too much Taiyin Moonlight, and that Moonlight is inherently highly consumptive of Yin Element, making it extremely difficult to cultivate. Until now, there has been little progress on his Formless Sword Qi, no wonder people eventually mostly chose the Xiaoyao Path. Simply through dual cultivation and energy replenishment, one could obtain Yin Yang Elements, far simpler and a hundredfold faster than nightly meditation and gathering moon dew.
So it’s not like Tie Dan didn’t cultivate it at all; after all, Moonlight is difficult to gather, Taiyin is difficult to refine, given that it’s all ready-made, he certainly wouldn’t waste it.
Thus, in these recent days, Tie Dan was purely using the Taiyin Yin Element for body sculpting and quenching his sword, repairing the meridian injuries from previous fierce battles, enriching with Taiyin Moon Power, and casually coalescing the nascent form of Ice Wheel Moonlight True Light while contemplating a full moon within his Divine Court, also the Primordial Spirit Technique from the "Taiyin Immortal Light", used for guarding the Primordial Spirit of the Divine Court.
Only, alas, Tie Dan’s realm was still too low, even in the Golden Core Realm, unable to completely wield and dissolve the Power of Taiyin, the true lights of Taiyin and Sun couldn’t be cultivated together, otherwise there was the risk of being possessed by demon due to the clash between ice and flame, so Tie Dan could only choose one path to refine, and completed the initial refinement of Ice Wheel Moonlight before leaving the tomb.
Oh, as for other effects such as rejuvenation and restoring youth, beautification, and enhancing appearance, those were merely the outward special effects from being nourished by the Yin Element, and didn’t actually increase lifespan, not worth mentioning.
However, seeing Tie Dan obtained the Xiaoyao Secret Transmission and cultivated into a Divine Skill, enhancing beauty, just in time to implement plans, Master Taichong was also very satisfied and presented another gift.
This was a Thunderstruck Wood Talisman, engraved with the image of Thunder Ancestor on the front and inscribed with the Five Thunder Talisman on the back.
"This Thunder Strike Talisman is a common Magic Artifact, it can unleash thunder and lightning, highly effective against evil.
This talisman was personally refined by me, Fellow Daoist only needs to gather power to unleash thunder, I can sense it, knowing your location."
Tie Dan nodded, following Master Taichong’s direction, clasped the Thunder Strike Talisman in his palm, performed the Thunder Skill hand sign, reciting the ’Nine Heavens Purple Palace Ancestor Venerable’’s nine-character incantation, and raised his palm to strike.
With a "KABOOM!" a sound like heaven split earth sprang forth!
Thunder flash! Lightning crash! A thunderbolt erupted on a clear day! It struck into the gorge, rending mountains and splitting rocks! Earth shook, mountains trembled!
"BOOM!" With one strike, a chinnea-sized zelkova tree was split in half! It exploded, combusting with blazing intensity! Turned into scattered cinders, reducing to charcoal!
"Wow, this is amazing..."
Tie Dan expressed thanks,
"Thank you, True Man, for the treasure."
Master Taichong fell into a moment of silent contemplation, looked at the fierce blazing thunder fire, then glanced back at Tie Dan,
"... I wonder if Brother Tie would be interested in joining our mountain to cultivate the Thunder Skill? I can introduce you to my master?"
Tie Dan shook his head,
"No need, I still prefer using the sword."
Taichong seemed to want to speak but stopped, moved to hold his words but desire to speak, shook his head, sighed,
"Is, is that so... you like to use the sword... alas... what a pity, what a pity, such a pity..."
Tie Dan watching him like this, also guessed he probably does have some talent in practicing the Thunder Skill. But it didn’t matter, there are too many Daoist transmissions under the heavens, how can one acquire all? Certainly, there must be sacrifice to gain, and to excel one must focus to reach the peak.
Thus they skipped over this discussion, agreed on contact methods hiddenly, roughly to strike a thunder every seven days to confirm their position, and if five consecutive thunder strikes were signaled, it meant the discovery of Jile Demon’s whereabouts, at which time Master Taichong would convene the Mystic Sect Demon Extermination squad.
"But even with me inside, probably Jile Blissful Demon will only be fooled once, I wonder how True Man plans to exterminate the demon?"
Master Taichong knew that Tie Dan would have this question, after all, it was him who mentioned how formidable that demon was, without gathering ten True Monarchs, there would be no chance, he explained,
"To prevent leaking the Heavenly Mechanism and being discovered by that demon, forgive me for not being able to tell directly, but Fellow Daoist can rest assured.
To deal with this monster, not only has the Mystic Sect of the Southern Country, but also disciples from Xunli Kunzhen Station and various states’ Mystic Sect have long been in communication.
For now, to exterminate this monster, eighty-one people have been divided into nine teams, ready to be mobilized anywhere in the Southern Country at any time.
And comrades from each mountain, each sect, each family’s Divine Monarch and True Monarch had already delayed their closed cultivation; as soon as the location is approximately known, someone will immediately fly over to attack.
As soon as its whereabouts are found, its life will be taken."
Wow, how many people are there in the Mystic Sect anyway? There are actually eighty-one Nascent Soul masters not closing off their cultivation, coming out specially to hunt him down, this guy must have offended quite a number of people...
