Zongheng University.
He had no idea what the founder was thinking when they came up with this name.
Basically, as far as Fang Xiu was concerned, the name was... a little cringey.
But Zongheng University was still famous among the Awakened schools all over the world.
It was one of the top three in the country.
With Fang Xiu’s power, he could have actually gotten into the top school in the country.
He could have even gone to the number one university in the world.
But to stay closer to home, Fang Xiu had chosen Zongheng University.
Now, following Li Mu, Fang Xiu was stepping into what was supposed to be his future university.
But inside, Fang Xiu was still thinking, ’I’m not going to enroll.’
Originally, Awakened Universities existed to train new Awakened and help them increase their power.
But now, Fang Xiu’s power no longer needed any improvement.
After all, he didn’t need a diploma to find a job.
He had already experienced many Gate Worlds.
His combat experience was also incredibly rich.
He was strong enough that even without attending classes, he could still find a good position somewhere.
But... Fang Xiu’s family was rich!
He didn’t need this so-called "position" at all.
He was rich and powerful, so why would he need to join an organization?
"The academic building is on the left, the dorms are on the right, the student center is in the middle, and the cafeteria is to the right of the dorms."
After they entered the main gate of Zongheng University, Li Mu began to give Fang Xiu a tour.
Fang Xiu just nodded slightly, not very interested.
’I probably won’t be coming here for class in the future anyway.’
"The dorms are separated by gender. Since Zongheng University doesn’t have many students, of the eight dormitory buildings over there, three are for men and three are for women."
Li Mu didn’t seem to notice Fang Xiu’s lack of interest and continued his introduction.
Fang Xiu nodded slightly. "What about the other two? For transgenders?"
"Hahaha..."
Unexpectedly, Li Mu burst out laughing at his words.
Then he answered, "The last two buildings are for the teachers."
Fang Xiu: ...
"Since there are so few students, everyone gets a single room so they don’t disturb each other."
Li Mu said to Fang Xiu.
Fang Xiu nodded.
"Come on, let’s go check out the student center."
As Li Mu spoke, he headed toward the largest building directly in front of them.
In truth, that was the only building Fang Xiu could see.
He couldn’t see any of the other academic buildings or dorms.
Although land was scarce these days, this was Zongheng University, one of the top three Awakened Universities in the country.
Its campus covered a vast area.
According to Li Mu, it was a ten-minute drive from the student center to the academic buildings.
So, it was perfectly normal that he couldn’t see them.
Upon entering the student center, the first thing he saw was a statue over two meters tall, which looked to be sculpted to a life-size scale.
"This is the first principal of Zongheng University, Mr. Xiang Zongzhen."
Seeing Fang Xiu’s curious gaze, Li Mu explained, "Level 99, with a Beastification Talent: the Celestial Venerable Big Dipper Elephant."
"Xiang Zongzhen?"
Fang Xiu was taken aback.
"Yes, the university was named after Principal Xiang."
Li Mu nodded slightly.
It was only then that Fang Xiu understood why the name "Zongheng University" was so tacky.
But now Fang Xiu had a new question: why was Principal Xiang’s name... also so tacky?
[Ding! An item available for Sacrifice has been detected beneath the statue.]
Just as Fang Xiu was wondering why the principal’s parents had given him that name...
The system’s voice appeared in his mind.
’Beneath the statue?’
Fang Xiu really hadn’t expected this.
To think there was actually something under the statue that could be used for a Sacrifice.
’System, what is it? Can I Sacrifice it directly?’
Fang Xiu asked.
If he could Sacrifice it directly, Fang Xiu would do it right now.
[Ding! Unable to detect. Sacrifice target is unknown. Direct Sacrifice is not possible. The host must retrieve the item before a Sacrifice can be performed.]
The system’s voice sounded again.
Fang Xiu’s brow furrowed slightly.
He hadn’t expected the system to not only detect that there was something under the statue available for Sacrifice, but also to alert him.
Nor had he expected that he couldn’t perform the Sacrifice if the item wasn’t right in front of him.
’Sacrifice target is unknown?’
’Does that mean because it doesn’t know what the item is, it doesn’t know which of the Deities is the appropriate recipient for the Sacrifice?’
’Looks like the only way is to figure out how to move this statue and dig out whatever is inside.’
Fang Xiu shook his head helplessly.
Although it might be a bit of a hassle.
But if this thing was something good, and if Sacrificing it could yield a Divine Artifact or even a Forbidden Curse...
Then Fang Xiu had to give it a try.
The only problem was, Fang Xiu still didn’t know what the item was.
Besides, with Li Mu around, there was no way to perform the Sacrifice.
’Looks like I’ll just have to wait for a future opportunity and see.’
Fang Xiu thought to himself, ’Now it looks like I have to enroll after all.’
Only by attending the university would he get a chance to get close to the statue, and only then would he have an opportunity to get the item underneath it.
Once he Sacrificed it, he could just drop out.
Moreover, Fang Xiu needed to determine what this item was and what kind of impact it might have on the university.
And also how many people knew of its existence.
Fang Xiu needed to investigate all of this clearly.
And the best way to investigate was for Fang Xiu to come and attend classes at the university.
Then, if he asked around a bit, he should be able to find some clues.
"Let’s go."
Just as Fang Xiu was spacing out a little...
Li Mu’s voice sounded once again.
Fang Xiu nodded slightly and followed him.
"There’s basically nothing on this first floor, just staircases leading in different directions."
Seeing that Fang Xiu had caught up, Li Mu continued his explanation, "The second floor has quite a few training rooms."
