The Southern Heavenly Wing Nation was located at the southernmost tip of the Tai Chu Continent.
The trees were absolutely gigantic, and it looked like the entire place was a huge forest with no end in sight.
Within this boundless forest, there were over ten thousand types of ferocious beast inhabitants. Among them, the Vermilion Bird Tribe was the most powerful and also one of the ten Realm-Guardian Tribes. This was a nation of bird-type tribes centered around the Vermilion Bird Tribe.
The Southern Heavenly Wing Nation had an ok relationship with the human race, in that it was not an antagonistic one, nor a friendly one.
Under most circumstances, all of the bird tribes would raise their proud heads to ignore any humans who went to the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation in a show of haughtiness.
An Lin and Xue Zhantian traveled to the Spirit Lake Realm via the Heavenly Court’s teleportation spell formation first.
From the southern part of the Spirit Lake Realm, all they would have to do was travel through a few tribal settlements before reaching the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation.
An Lin was not lacking in money, and so, he paid for teleportation spell formations all the way to the border of the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation.
“Phew... These trees here really are just as impressive as they are in the legends!”
An Lin looked up at the massive trees that were several hundred or even over a thousand meters tall and exclaimed in amazement.
“Wow! So many majestic, diversified trees! These trees must have grown so tall in order to stab through the heavens! This attitude has determined that they will all go on to do great things!” Xue Zhantian flapped his little wings as he praised with excitement.
An Lin picked up Xue Zhantian from the ground and flew into the sky atop his brick. “You’re useless at spatial travel, but you sure can talk. Doesn’t that mouth of yours ever get tired?”
Xue Zhantian grinned in response. “A newbie like me will, of course, be a little clumsy. But given time, I will master my craft for sure!”
An Lin pursed his lips upon hearing this. He had heard this very same sentence quite a few times already.
On the way here, Xue Zhantian was like a driver with road rage as he traveled through space. Whenever he saw a turbulent or an uneven patch of space, he would try to go right through it rather than around it, resulting in the two of them almost getting shredded within the chaotic spatial turbulence.
An Lin had even given Xue Zhantian a beating after the event.
After being beaten, Xue Zhantian was even more dispirited.
In the end, An Lin could only carry Xue Zhantian on his brick as they continued onward.
In reality, traveling via flying had its perks too. At least they could survey the scenery around them as they traveled.
As An Lin looked around at the lush ground below him as well as the countless types of birds flying in the sky, his mood improved significantly.
They had even seen massive trees several kilometers tall, in which many birds were situated.
“Master! That bird looks like a phoenix!” Xue Zhantian pointed at a golden flaming bird.
An Lin narrowed his eyes. A white light flashed past his eyes before he shook his head. “That’s just a bird with a hint of the phoenix bloodline. Phoenixes are from one of the rarest species on this continent, so they’re not that easy to encounter.”
“It seems like the vermilion birds are easier to encounter.” Xue Zhantian scratched his head with a wing. “We’ve already encountered three vermilion birds so far. They’re so majestic and regal, they’re like the royal family of all beasts.”
An Lin chuckled lightly. “The real vermilion bird is a one of a kind holy beast that exists alongside the world. Everything else is just a successor to it with some vermilion bird bloodline and cannot be referred to as the real vermilion birds.
“However, the Vermilion Bird Tribe possesses the vermilion bird bloodline and is extremely powerful, so they can proclaim themselves to be vermilion birds. In any case, they can do whatever makes them happy.”
Even though the Vermilion Bird Tribe governed the entire Southern Heavenly Wing Nation, theirs was a very liberal rule where they essentially did nothing. In any case, as long as no one was threatening to destroy the entire nation, you could do whatever you wanted and they would not care.
This was a free nation, but also a nation that was unrestrained and ruthless.
This was exemplified by two sinister giant birds that appeared in An Lin’s path after flying for just a few hundred kilometers.
“Kuku! This is a robbery! Hand over all your stuff!” A mighty bird enshrouded in poison mist chuckled.
“Not just your money and assets! We want your bodies and your life force too! Hehehe...” A four-winged crimson eagle also chuckled with a sinister expression.
“How many times is this?” An Lin asked expressionlessly.
“Master, this is already the fifth time. The tactics are the same every time. They just charge in and try to block our way. I’m getting a little sick of how repetitive this is,” Xue Zhantian replied exasperatedly.
“What are those two talking about?” The poison mist bird was perplexed.
“Who cares about what they’re saying? I have no interest in dead people. Less talking, more action!” The crimson eagle let loose a sharp screech before flying toward An Lin and Xue Zhantian.
Blue light enshrouded Xue Zhantian’s body, and he too flew toward the crimson eagle.
Boom!
The crimson eagle was instantly frozen solid before being shattered by Xue Zhantian.
The poison mist bird immediately let loose a cry of terror before flying away into the distance.
However, Xue Zhantian was not about to let it get away as its round body shot through the air like a cannonball, instantly pulverizing the huge bird.
An Lin clapped his hands in approval. “Little Tian, your bowling skills are getting more and more impressive!”
“Hmph! Two pieces of Soul Formation Initial Stage trash wanted to rob me? What impudence!” Xue Zhantian scoffed with a disdainful expression.
“There’s a reason why the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation is a first-rate power on the continent but has such a small population.” An Lin refined the two birds’ storage rings, and his expression shifted minutely. “These two guys have some good stuff. I have a feeling they got all of this stuff through robbery!”
“How much do they have?” Xue Zhantian asked with excitement on his face.
“There are a total of four hundred and fifty thousand spirit stones, two spirit tools, three spirit fruits, and a bunch of other stuff...” An Lin tallied up the items before tossing the three spirit fruits toward Xue Zhantian.
“Long live Master!” Xue Zhantian yelled elatedly before chomping down on the spirit fruits happily.
An Lin stroked his chin in deep thought. “We’ve only been in the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation for a day, but we’ve already encountered five different groups of robbers, obtaining over a million spirit stones in the process. I have a bold idea...”
Xue Zhantian raised his wings high in the air to express approval. “Master! I think whatever you’re thinking is plausible!”
“Hmm, let’s do what we came here to do first, then we can rectify this unsavory culture of the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation...” An Lin chuckled as he discovered a new path to riches.
It had to be said that there really were business opportunities everywhere in life!
Two hours later, a gargantuan tree appeared before An Lin and Xue Zhantian.
This tree was over a hundred thousand feet tall, and its massive tree trunk extended straight through the clouds, around which white clouds and mist swirled. The gigantic canopy of the tree fanned outward, obscuring the entire sky.
On top of the canopy, countless branches and leaves criss-crossed over one another and fused with the soil as well as substances secreted by the tree to form a huge continent!
A smile appeared on An Lin’s face.
“We’re finally here! This is one of the most renowned cities within the Southern Heavenly Wing Nation, Hong Feng City!”
