Lin Chen watched the middle-aged man slowly approaching in a Tang suit, his eyes emitting a trace of coldness.
"Murong Qing, you’ve followed me all day. What is it that you want?" Lin Chen said coldly.
Murong Qing was startled, then sneered coldly, "It seems you’ve noticed me a long time ago. However, you are truly foolish. Knowing this, yet still you choose the path to your own demise."
Lin Chen smiled indifferently, "If you think you can kill me, you’re not capable enough."
"Hahaha! Boy, you are too arrogant. You’re merely at the later stage of Qi Refinement. Do you really think you are invincible?" Murong Qing suddenly burst into laughter.
"Whether I am or not, only a try will tell."
Accompanied by an explosive sound underfoot, Lin Chen’s figure shot out explosively. In the blink of an eye, he was before Murong Qing. With the sound of breaking wind, his fist harshly smashed toward Murong Qing’s shoulder.
Murong Qing’s pupils constricted, and his face turned solemn as he hurriedly mobilized the True Qi within his body to meet the attack with his palm.
"Bang!" A muffled sound resonated.
Their fists and palms collided. Lin Chen’s figure was thrown backwards, retreating four to five steps before he stopped his backward momentum.
"Hmph, courting death." Murong Qing snorted coldly, his face showing a fierce expression.
"Boy, do you see the gap between our strengths now? Today will be your graveyard," Murong Qing said with a cold smile as he looked at the repelled Lin Chen, about to pursue his advantage when he suddenly felt an unusual sensation within his body.
"Explode!" Lin Chen slightly curved his lips into a cold smirk not far away.
"Bang!" Accompanied by a muffled sound, Murong Qing spat out a mouthful of fresh blood, his breath significantly weakened.
"How is this possible!" Murong Qing clutched his chest, his face showing a look of bafflement.
"I told you, you are not up to it." Lin Chen brushed his nose, and with another explosive sound underfoot, his figure zipped like lightning to the front of Murong Qing.
"Bang, bang, bang!"
Three consecutive kicks landed on Murong Qing’s knees, lower abdomen, and chest.
"Pfft!"
Receiving heavy blows once more, Murong Qing’s face turned even more unsightly as he stumbled backwards four to five steps and thumped down onto the ground.
"Bruce Lee’s triple kick!"
Murong Qing, with shock on his face, blurted out.
"Congratulations, you’re right." Lin Chen smiled and slowly approached Murong Qing.
Murong Qing, who never dreamed that he, a Foundation Establishment strongman, would lose to a mere late-stage Qi Refinement youngster, had bloodshot eyes and a fierce expression on his face.
"You little bastard, go to hell!"
Murong Qing suddenly pulled out a gun from his bosom and aimed it at Lin Chen while lying on the ground.
Just as Murong Qing was about to pull the trigger, his eyes trembled suddenly, filled with horror.
In Lin Chen’s eyes, a golden vortex appeared, spreading an aura that made one’s soul tremble.
A minute later, Murong Qing threw away the gun in his hand and knelt on one knee before Lin Chen, "Master!"
Lin Chen nodded in satisfaction. Capturing a soul was very difficult for a Foundation Establishment strongman, but it was possible now because of Murong Qing’s weakened state.
With a thought, a medicine pill appeared in his hand. Lin Chen tossed it to Murong Qing and spoke indifferently, "Take this, go back and recuperate. I will contact you if there’s anything."
"Yes, Master, Li Yan hired a group of mercenaries. They might make a move on Miss Xue Ying tonight," Murong Qing suddenly disclosed a surprising piece of intelligence to Lin Chen.
"What?" Lin Chen’s heart sank, and he hurriedly dialed Qiao Yong’s phone.
But the phone was unanswered, the same for calls to Xue Ying.
"Damn!" There was no need to guess—Xue Ying and Qiao Yong had already encountered trouble.
Lin Chen reflected for a moment and said to Murong Qing, "This has something to do with your Murong family, doesn’t it?"
Murong Qing’s face had a hint of awkwardness, "Master, those mercenaries were contacted by me."
Lin Chen nodded, "You should know better than me what to do next."
"Yes, Master, I understand." Murong Qing stood up and turned to leave.
Now, Murong Qing’s mind was completely controlled by Lin Chen, and Lin Chen naturally knew what he was thinking.
"Ding Dong, congratulations to the host ’Lin Chen’ for defeating a strong enemy of a higher level and earning 100 popularity points."
Lin Chen was not satisfied with the score. He had defeated a Foundation Establishment expert, and he only earned 100 popularity points. However, he no longer had time to worry about that, his current priority was to rescue Xue Ying.
Accompanied by the ringing of his cellphone, Lin Chen’s phone started ringing.
Looking at the unfamiliar number, Lin Chen sneered and answered the call.
"You are Mr. Lin, right?" Li Yan’s chilly voice came from the phone.
"I am, and you are?" Lin Chen responded, feigning confusion.
"Mr. Lin really forgets important people quickly, forgetting me so soon, I am Li Yan," Li Yan said with a cold laugh.
"Oh, Mr. Li, I haven’t thanked you yet for the ten million last time. What brings you to call me?" Lin Chen replied indifferently.
"Of course, there is something. Haha, Miss Xue Ying is my guest here, let her speak with you for a moment."
While he spoke, struggling noises from Xue Ying came through the phone, "Lin Chen, don’t worry about me..."
She had barely spoken a word when the voice changed back to Li Yan.
"Mr. Lin, I’ll give you an hour to hand over all the formulae from your company, otherwise, we have many hungry brothers here! This chick really has some sexy bone in her, I’m having a hard time restraining myself," Li Yan spoke lewdly.
"You bastard, if you dare touch Xiaoying, I won’t let you go," Lin Chen pretended to rage.
"Haha, how about that, you’re quite angry aren’t you? I just love that angry vibe from you, kid remember, one hour at Longquan Pier, or you’ll be collecting your beauty’s corpse!" Li Yan laughed coldly and hung up the phone.
Right after the call ended, Lin Chen received a text message, "Everything’s taken care of."
Seeing the message from Murong Qing, Lin Chen finally felt relieved and drove his BMW straight to Longquan Pier.
In a warehouse at Longquan Pier, under the dim light, three men were toasting and drinking.
These three men were Murong Qing, Murong Tian, and Li Yan.
Not far from the three, two people were tied up securely, it was Xue Ying and Qiao Yong.
Eight camouflaged mercenaries surrounded the two;
Li Yan raised his glass, laughing, "A toast to our common victory."
Murong Tian was also in high spirits, "After today, eliminating this nuisance, DY will be ours."
Murong Qing gave a faint smile as he too raised his glass with the others.
Just then, accompanied by a series of footsteps, Lin Chen walked into the warehouse. Seeing Xue Ying and Qiao Yong tied up on the ground, his face showed a trace of cold light.
Lin Chen walked straight to the table and pulled over a chair to sit down.
"Brother Li, if you wanted me to make a phone call, you could have asked simply, why make such a big deal out of it?" Lin Chen spoke lightly.
Li Yan sneered, "Did you bring the recipe?"
Lin Chen picked up some chopsticks and took a bite of the food, "Damn, this dish is too awful, way worse than my little chef’s cooking."
"Bang!"
Li Yan slammed his chopsticks down hard on the table, "Lin Chen, do you think we really invited you here for a meal?"
Lin Chen gently placed the chopsticks beside the plate and smiled, "Of course not, today I came here to settle accounts with you."
