"Run! There’s a village ahead, hide quickly."
"Dad!"
"Husband!"
"Don’t worry about me, I’m going to fight them."
To the west of Qingshan County, more than three hundred miles, night falls.
In the mountains and forests, vague shadows stir, horses panic Jing Mountain, wails echo through the empty sky.
Among the trees, the bushes rustle, frightened figures stagger through the woods, desperately fleeing.
Behind them, the relentless sound of horse hooves and screams, like death knells, keeps everyone from daring to rest for even a moment.
A man forcefully pushes his wife and son towards a cliff ahead, pushes them across, then turns to grab the longbow on his back, draws the bow, fits an arrow, eyes fixed on the dark, ghostly dense forest ahead.
Soon, in the forest ahead, a horse neighs loudly, its hooves pounding closer urgently, like a death knell.
"Whoosh"
A horse-shaped shadow leaps through the woods, onto the cliff, on its back, a pair of eerily green eyes, flickering with chilling light.
Just then,
"Zip"
The bowstring trembles sharply, an iron arrow pierces through the air, shooting straight towards the neighing horse.
"Thud"
With a muffled sound, it hits the horse’s neck precisely.
The horse neighs long, fiercely topples forward, and a figure with a mask flips down from it.
The man seizes the moment, bends the bow again, and fits another arrow, all in one fluid motion.
"Whoosh"
The sound of cleaving air sharply rings out, blasting towards the uncontrolled figure.
It hits his chest directly!
The man’s expression is about to relax,
But in the next second, "clang," the cold iron arrowhead, hitting the masked figure’s chest, emits a sound of metal clashing and astonishingly breaks.
The man’s face turns pale.
As the masked figure lands, a strange laugh escapes, black Qi rolls off his body, and he suddenly transforms into a shadow, rushing fiercely towards the man.
The man’s expression changes, pulls out the plain blade from his waist, roars angrily, and slashes forward.
"Clang"
A hand, covered with fierce, dense scales, shining sinisterly, firmly catches his blade.
A pair of eerie green pupils, looking ferociously at the pale-faced man, "Daring to resist the Divine Sect, not obediently welcoming us, you all deserve to die!"
The next second, with a ringing of the blade, it is abruptly broken off, then the hand, like a sharp claw, shockingly penetrates the man’s chest.
On the other side of the cliff, in the woods, a woman with a young boy, seeing the man’s gruesome end, let out a piercing cry.
"Husband"
"Father"
At that moment, the man’s pupils dilate drastically, blood seeping from his mouth corners, but his arms suddenly lift, firmly grabbing the Human Demon’s hands, then trembling, slowly turns his head, looks towards his wife and son still lingering in the woods on the other side of the cliff, and with all his strength, lets out a hysterical roar.
"Run!"
Seeing her husband’s parting gaze, the woman’s heart fills with sorrow, but still pulls her screaming son, running towards the distant village filled with blooming peach blossoms.
Meanwhile, the man, with a roar, embraces the Human Demon tightly, and jumps down into the abyss below the cliff.
The Human Demon’s expression changes, trying to pull his hands free, but being tightly embraced, both plummet into the chasm.
Yet, a dozen breaths later, a demonic howl suddenly arises from beneath the cliff.
Soon afterward, a pair of claws, covered with scales, suddenly grasps up from below the cliff.
A creature, a meter tall, covered in dark green scale armor, resembling a lizard, appears with shattered scales.
"F**k, forced into such a miserable state by the Iron Guardian for the sake of protecting your wife and child, huh!" this Human Demon roars angrily, its sinister green pupils eyeing the direction the mother and son fled, stomps fiercely, and leaps across the three-meter-wide cliff, roaring towards the distant village.
Meanwhile, the village, brimming with peach blossoms, pink spreading, is already in utter chaos.
A group of people fleeing from Yinshan County, now internally panicked, run to this village, and hide everywhere.
In the midst, a mother and son, heedlessly running, arrive at a doorstep still adorned with white cloth.
Villagers, startled by the noise, then hearing of the Demon Cult’s attack, cry out in shock.
At that moment, groups of horses dash into the village, gangs of Human Demons encircle the entire village, displaying a bloodthirsty excitement.
"Capture everyone!"
Then, the lizard-like Human Demon bursts forth from the darkness, glaring fixedly at a house draped in white silk.
At that moment, laughter rings out.
"Isn’t that Iron Guardian, what happened to turn you into this state?"
The lizard-like head snarls at one of the individuals wearing a mask, "F**k off, I’m really pissed right now."
Saying so, the figure dashes towards that house in a flash.
"Bang"
The Human Demon kicked open the grand door and stepped inside.
Inside the hall, at this moment, on the shrine, two faint candle flames flickered, above which sat two urns of ashes, with an extinguished fire basin set in front.
The room was draped in white silk,
And at this time, the hall was filled with kneeling people, whose shadows stretched long under the flickering candlelight.
Mixed in the scent of incense, there was a foul, fishy smell.
Upon seeing this eerie scene, the Human Demon sneered, reaching out and grabbing one of the shadows, pulling it into its hand.
The next second, a strong stench assaulted the nostrils.
The person it had grabbed was an old man, his eyes wide in terror, his body turning green, his chest riddled with several bloody holes, maggots even festering within, his whole body emitting a rotting stench of decay.
The Human Demon’s pupils shrank, then, with disgust, flung the corpse in front of him.
"Bang bang bang"
Those shadowy figures all collapsed.
Turns out they were all corpses with eyes wide open.
At that moment, the candles in the room suddenly extinguished.
"Scrape scrape scrape"
Suddenly, the sound of sharpening knives emerged from a room inside.
The Human Demon felt goosebumps all over, then realized and burst out laughing in rage. Being a demon itself, what was there to fear from ghosts.
"Playing ghost tricks!"
With an angry roar, it surged forward, rushing toward the inner room.
At this moment, the village was filled with cries of despair.
"Please don’t kill me!"
"Ah"
"Dad, Mom"
One by one, villagers were dragged out of their houses by Human Demons
The horses circled these terrified villagers, forming an encirclement, the Human Demons atop them burst into crazy laughter, as if playing with their prey.
Just then, a loud explosion was heard nearby.
In the center of the village, that house adorned with white cloth burst open.
A scream ensued.
A lizard-looking Human Demon was seen flying backwards, its body pierced with a bloody hole.
Following this, a shrill shriek like a fierce ghost emerged from the house.
The Human Demons disturbed, roared in fury, rushing toward that house.
The next second, a rolling ghostly aura burst out from inside the house, and a deafening Sword Sound followed.
Immediately afterward, a chilling ghostly figure charged towards those Human Demons.
Obscured in the shadows, a young girl appeared draped in red-stained white cloth, her eyes pale, wielding a dagger, slashing fierce cold lights towards each Human Demon.
The villagers of Taohua Village, upon seeing this, cried out.
"Lian’er, poor Lian’er, she wasn’t supposed to be...."
The villagers’ memories returned to that night, after the Mountain Lord’s wedding was thwarted and the girl returned home to find her parents had hung themselves. She then took the dagger given by the benefactor and killed, one by one, those in the village who had wronged them, a total of thirteen lives.
But who would have thought, after her revenge, the girl would commit suicide on the night she buried her elderly parents, using that very dagger.
And now...
Lian’er, poor Lian’er.
Tears could not be helped by the villagers.
She was protecting us.
"Kill!"
The Human Demons roared, attacking the girl. The dagger in her hand radiated fierce Sword Intent, instantly killing two Second Realm Human Demons.
One of the leading Profound Body Demons, roared angrily, his hand armored in eerily scaled armor, knocked the dagger away.
Then with a mighty blast, the girl was blown away, then he captured the dagger in his hand.
"Just an ordinary fierce ghost, having killed three protectors of the Divine Sect with this dagger imbued with Sword Intent, damn,"
As it spoke, the Demonic Qi in its palm roared, about to crush the dagger.
But at that moment, the dagger suddenly burst with a chilling light.
A sky-high Sword Sound hummed into existence.
"Ah"
That Profound Body Demon screamed.
That dagger, with a flash of chilling light, directly severed its entire palm.
Following that, it shot towards the eastern direction.
A streak of golden light was also breaking through the sky towards this place!
