"You..."
Lei Xuankong clenched his fists, his anger plain on his face, though he also understood the reality of the situation. With Bai Yuchen here, killing Li Yun was no longer an option.
"Fine." His voice was cold. "Very good. Bai Yuchen, since you insist on shielding him, I’ll stop here today. The mountains remain and the rivers keep flowing. We’ll meet again."
He grabbed the kneeling Yin Cangxiao and turned to leave, but before he could get far, another cold voice spoke up.
"Leave? Lei Xuankong, who told you that you were free to leave?"
The voice carried a natural majesty, and a young man in imperial golden robes appeared directly in Lei Xuankong’s path.
A purple-gold crown rested on his head, and his expression was cold, dignified, and imposing. When Li Yun looked at him more closely, he immediately noticed how strongly the newcomer’s features resembled Huang Tianlin’s.
"Seventh Brother."
Huang Tianlin recognized him at once, and the crowd reacted even more strongly, because another heavyweight had arrived and everyone understood that today’s incident would not be settled quietly.
The newcomer was Huang Tianze, the Seventh Prince of the Profound Sovereign Dynasty, and more importantly, he ranked second in the entire Genius Training Camp.
It was widely known that he and Huang Tianlin had grown up together and shared an exceptionally close bond, so there was no chance he would ignore the news that someone had nearly forced his younger brother to kneel in public.
"You’re Yin Cangxiao?" Huang Tianze’s gaze settled on the silver-haired youth. "I heard you tried to make my Ninth Brother kneel to you."
Every trace of Yin Cangxiao’s earlier arrogance vanished.
"Your Highness, this is a misunderstanding." Fear filled his face. "I lost my head for a moment and acted without thinking. Please forgive me, Your Highness."
Huang Tianze’s expression did not shift at all.
"Anyone who insults the dignity of the Profound Sovereign Imperial Family pays for it."
A long spear appeared in his hand, and he thrust it forward with astonishing speed. Before most people could even react, the spear had already pierced Yin Cangxiao’s heart. Blood sprayed outward, and Huang Tianze lifted the weapon slightly so that the corpse hung from it.
"Huang Tianze!"
Lei Xuankong’s face changed completely, and his eyes went bloodshot. Yin Cangxiao was his sworn brother, and the two of them had walked through life-and-death situations together, yet Huang Tianze had killed him right in front of his eyes.
"And as for you, Lei Xuankong." Huang Tianze turned toward him with the same cold expression. "I went into seclusion for barely a month, and you were already behaving as though I no longer existed. You let your sworn brother target my Ninth Brother again and again, and you stood aside while he tried to humiliate him."
A terrifying pressure spread out from Huang Tianze as he raised his spear.
"It seems you’ve grown tired of living too. Since you were so close to your sworn brother, you can go with him."
The spear thrust forward, and a terrifying spear light erupted that made Lei Xuankong’s Heaven and Earth Thunder Tribulation look insignificant by comparison.
Boom!
Lei Xuankong desperately threw up every defensive method he had, and none of it mattered. His defenses shattered one after another, blood sprayed from his mouth, and his long purple hair came loose as his body was flung backward.
"Today you die as well."
Huang Tianze stepped forward and appeared directly above him in an instant, the spear in his hand angled downward and ready to pierce Lei Xuankong’s heart.
"Sigh..."
A quiet sigh drifted through the arena, and then an unimaginably powerful force descended. Huang Tianze froze mid-motion and his spear stopped, and he was not the only one, because every cultivator present suddenly found their body rigid.
An invisible force had locked them all in place, and no matter how hard they struggled, not one of them could move.
A middle-aged man in dark green robes then appeared, and Li Yun recognized him immediately as Elder Mu Cang, the same senior who had escorted their group into the Genius Training Camp when they first arrived.
"This matter ends here."
Elder Mu Cang waved his hand lightly, and Huang Tianze and Lei Xuankong were pushed apart from one another. His voice was not loud, yet it reached everyone’s ears with perfect clarity. Then his gaze settled on Huang Tianze.
"Huang Tianze, do you understand what you did wrong?"
"I understand."
Huang Tianze immediately reined in his aura and bowed respectfully. Seventh Prince of the Profound Sovereign Dynasty though he was, he was not normally an unreasonable man, and everything he had done today had been for Huang Tianlin’s sake.
The imperial family was famously cold, and brothers often turned into political enemies as they grew older, but the two of them were an exception, since their bond had been extraordinarily close since childhood and had never weakened. With Huang Tianlin so close to suffering a devastating humiliation, Huang Tianze had naturally felt obligated to avenge him.
"Good."
Seeing him admit his fault without argument, Elder Mu Cang’s expression softened slightly.
"You should understand that although the Genius Training Camp permits combat, killing another member is strictly forbidden. You had your reasons, but rules are still rules. For the next three months you are barred from entering any of the Six Great Secret Realms, and ten thousand points will be deducted from your account. Do you object?"
"I do not."
Huang Tianze nodded. Losing ten thousand points hurt, though it was not the heaviest part of the punishment, since being shut out of the Six Great Secret Realms for three months would seriously slow his cultivation.
Even so, he felt no regret, because the moment he decided to kill Yin Cangxiao, he had already accepted whatever came afterward.
Elder Mu Cang then turned toward Lei Xuankong.
"Lei Xuankong, you failed to kill anyone in the end, but your actions crossed the camp’s bottom line all the same. You deliberately tried to kill another member, so your punishment will be identical. For three months you may not enter any of the Six Great Secret Realms, and ten thousand points will be deducted. Do you object?"
"No."ovel.com
Lei Xuankong ground his teeth. Hatred filled his heart, yet he did not dare show any of it in front of Elder Mu Cang, so he simply lowered his head obediently.
For someone like Huang Tianze, three months was painful but survivable. For Lei Xuankong, the consequences might be far worse. Everyone in the Genius Training Camp improved quickly, and three months without access to the Six Great Secret Realms was more than enough time for plenty of competitors to pass him.
Before long he might drop out of the top fifty, and once that happened he would lose his elite member status, which would make climbing back up considerably harder.
