"What are you doing—"
Both Li Ang and Andasu, who was peeking at him from the side, were somewhat surprised by Othella’s sudden action.
"What? Reluctant to let it go?"
Othella lifted her small face, her elegant yet childish face full of a provocative expression.
When Li Ang glanced over, she immediately glared back, seemingly waiting for him to get angry so that she could naturally get into a fight with him.
"No, do whatever you want, it’s just a byproduct of practice anyway."
"Oh, really? I thought you’d be crying about letting it go."
Li Ang rubbed his temples, changing his opinion slightly, realizing that Othella was not just a battle-crazy middle-schooler, but also a bratty imp.
Othella played with the Alchemy Bottle with her long, slender fingers, looking extraordinarily agile and dazzling.
But if you looked closely, her actual manipulation was a mess, relying solely on phasing her fingers to pass through the falling bottle and then re-materializing to catch it, making it appear dazzling.
Seeing Li Ang not angry, she quickly lost interest and focused her attention on the Alchemy Bottle itself.
She picked up a small bottle with her fingertips, removed the cap, closed one eye, and looked into the bottle with the other.
"Be careful of explosions," Li Ang said.
"No worries, no worries," Othella said dismissively.
ALulu, standing to the side, said, "Othella’s power is special, she’s not afraid of fire damage."
Li Ang naturally knew this, watching Othella’s movements—opening the bottle cap and shaking it slightly, expecting the flame inside to spurt out.
Li Ang didn’t know what she intended to do, but the Low Tier Bottle of Burning wouldn’t cause any serious consequences to those present.
When the potion in the small bottle emitted a glow and was about to erupt, Othella suddenly tilted her head, raised the small bottle, and poured the contents into her mouth.
The sparks falling from the bottle mouth were caught in one gulp, then exploded within her mouth. Li Ang was very familiar with the series of crackling sounds, but had never heard such an explosion muffled by the soft flesh of a young girl’s cheek.
"Hoo—"
Othella opened her small mouth and exhaled a puff of smoke and dust.
Even though she had the Sub-grade Star Soul power from Molten Mountain, without actively summoning the power, her body was still that of a teenage girl, and this certainly caused pain.
She couldn’t hide this, and it was directly reflected on her face, with tears hanging at the corners of her eyes.
Regardless of why she did it, Li Ang didn’t want to see such a situation and frowned at her.
"That’s too reckless, Little Othella!" Diao also ran over and said.
Othella raised her eyebrows at the somewhat worried Li Ang, ignoring him, and opened the caps of other Alchemy Bottles in her hand.
Before swallowing the alchemical flames, flames rose from her shoulders, extending into a Flame Cloak.
At such close range, Li Ang immediately sensed those Purgatory Spirits, they were dormant, forcibly suppressed into slumber by the Reversed World.
Othella swallowed the flames from four Alchemy Bottles. The Alchemy Flames exploded inside her mouth and esophagus, the expanding flames reflecting on her body, spewing out along with the Flame Cloak behind her.
She quickly grasped the Flame Cloak with anticipation, watching its burning surface, yet it continued to burn quietly without any changes.
The expectation on Othella’s face quickly disappeared, reverting to her previous indifferent expression.
"Hmph, boring."
She swiftly transformed into a flash of firelight and vanished into the forest outside the camp.
"What’s going on?" Li Ang looked at the other three members of the transfer club.
"Little Othella has some companions, although I haven’t seen them, I’ve heard they’re the source of her Flame Power," Diao said.
Andasu said softly, "She has no family, only those companions, but now they’re also dormant."
"Those companions should be connected to her power. She’s likely trying to stimulate them by absorbing external flames, hoping to awaken them," ALulu said.
Li Ang nodded, asking again, "Then why not try using Flame Magic?"
All three present expressed that they couldn’t do it.
And the other mage students dared not cooperate with her, jokingly considering putting fireballs in their mouths. Who could bear that responsibility?
The school mentors were even less likely to, with insights from the three who understood the Reversed Othella’s background.
"Her hometown was severely damaged by a Magical Disaster, and all family members perished. Only some companions stayed by her side, the Magical Disaster granting them special powers that connected them.
"Little Othella wanted to find a way to save her hometown, so she came to Mistrem, but quickly realized that learning ordinary magic was far from enough, and during this process, her companions’ power started depleting too, until they ceased to move. She doesn’t want to admit that’s death.
"Upon enrollment, she disguised herself as a talented ordinary Fire Magic student, not wanting to alert the teachers to avoid trouble."
Li Ang said, "I see, so she wants to transfer to other academies to find ways to resolve the Magical Disaster?"
"That’s our guess, but she hasn’t mentioned it herself," Diao said.
Othella’s connection to the Purgatory Spirit was temporarily suppressed by the Master of the Reversed World, who also scripted this predicament for her.
Unexpectedly uncovering Othella’s reversed storyline was considered a gain, and Li Ang was quite satisfied with it.
He put away the alchemical tools, planning to first bid farewell to the three and head home.
