Wendes pulled the reins, and the piercing cry of the Griffin echoed across the deck. As a Demon favored by the wind, it easily lifted Wendes off the deck and soared into the sky with a single flap of its wings.
Wendes spun the Celestial Demon Heavy Halberd, and as the halberd blade moved, a seemingly tangible azure hurricane formed by his side, its Magic Power dense and interspersed with thunder.
The friction between the supernatural Magic Power Dimension and the Material World produces thunderous roars, a phenomenon common in the Demon Disaster Realm, or when a powerful figure at the Excellence Realm exerts their full force.
A massive amount of Magic Power vaguely eroded the barrier between the two dimensions, and the piercing thunder made ordinary people tremble with fear.
The Imperial Army soldiers standing behind Wendes began to panic, squeezing toward one side of the deck.
The Griffin beneath Wendes also created a whirlwind, flapping its wings continuously to merge the Magic whirlwind with the hurricane from the Celestial Demon Heavy Halberd, while the Wind Gathering Gloves on Wendes’s hands further enhanced this effect.
The Ancient Holy Object known as the Wind Chaser’s Holy Bell allowed him to easily convert a substantial amount of traction into storm-like Magic Power. With his ample reserves of Magic Power, several dark cyan Celestial Demon Hurricanes soon formed in the sky outside the Flying Ship, seemingly swallowing all surrounding light, casting a shadow over the once-clear morning sky.
As long as these winds strike the Magical Flying Ship, the surface defense of a Transcendent Realm would disintegrate in no time, reducing it to scrap metal within the hurricane.
"Wow, Tier Seven Equipment is impressive indeed."
Lanslow exclaimed and asked Li Ang, "You provoked him directly, and now he’s going all out. Are you sure about this?"
"Precisely because it’s him, nothing he does will work. Just don’t move and listen to my instructions."
The paths of several hurricanes outside the ship caused turbulence at the entrance of the flight path, making it difficult for many Flying Airships to maintain their hovering state, while the Imperial Warship beneath them was also drifting into the Ignis Sky Realm.
Wendes’s red hair, tied into a ponytail, was flying wildly in the air, exuding a bit of a Demon God aura.
He raised the Celestial Demon Heavy Halberd, and a tightly wound storm twisted like a whip, ready to lash toward the deck.
An officer hurriedly shouted, "Lord Feinat, please show mercy!"
In the face of immense supernatural power, ordinary local soldiers couldn’t even fathom a way to cope, left only to plead.
"Tsk, cowards."
Wendes retracted the hurricane, sweeping his long halberd, the surrounding violent winds descended swiftly on the deck, standing upright, overturning nothing but demolishing surface turrets, instruments, decorations, and railings.
Several Celestial Demon Hurricanes encircled Li Ang and Lanslow, forming a storm formation that restricted their movements.
The Earth Serpent, following Li Ang’s command, coiled around the connection ropes between the ship and the suspension device. Its defenses, still at the Transcendent Realm, opted to evade where it could counter the winds.
High above, Wendes wielding the long halberd, piloted the Griffin in a rapid dive.
Lanslow held a sword in his left hand, and a gun in his right. As he swung the sword, it guided Magic shaping multiple blades floating around the sword. Driven by Magic, these blades slashed toward the hurricane while the Magic Ammunition Gun’s Flame Bullets, fired in succession, obliterated a hurricane that threatened them.
But with time only for such actions, Wendes was already closing in. It was clear that upon impact, they would suffer dual devastation from his heavy halberd and the swirling whirlwind alongside, leading to destructive physical and magical damage.
The Silver Armor of the Order Sky Knight Corps rippled with Magic over Lanslow’s body, forming layers upon layers of Metal Magic Barriers on his surface. Visually, the young man seemed enveloped in flowing silver metal, becoming a slightly non-human Silver Armored Knight.
He pondered his evasive course while readying for the impact’s defense.
"Half step back to the rear right, then step to the right again," Li Ang suddenly instructed.
Lanslow swiftly shifted position, and as he reached the spot, the Griffin’s black wings swept past in front of him, while Wendes’s halberd blade carved a metallic scar on the deck, using the momentum to soar back into the high skies on the other side of the vessel, towing behind a thunderous whirlwind.
"He dodged it? How is that possible!"
Lanslow looked in surprise at Li Ang, standing at the same point.
"I helped him summarize this very move, so I clearly know where its weaknesses are."
Across the Aerial Realm, even with Wendes being a Tier Six Lance Cavalry, considered formidable, he couldn’t have entered the Celestial Group without his wealth.
However, disparities exist even among the same rank.
This person had decent talent, training from a young age due to good upbringing, and his body nurtured with rare materials, achieving Tier Six in Magic Control. Yet, his combat thinking has much room for improvement, and the Professional Skills he comprehended were not abundant, many arising naturally from his upbringing.
Yet, he felt he was strong enough already, supported by family funds, leading to a lack of ambition thereafter.
Mostly due to his team’s excessive Devotion Gold, Rams kept him. However, wielding exquisite equipment without realizing combat prowess was something Li Ang could not tolerate, so he nearly forced him into learning this Secret Technique—Storm Cavalry Assault—that leverages his Professional Advantages, equipment, energy source, and Summoned Beasts.
Using Equipment Creation to forge a hurricane that forms a wind array, disbanding some foes with the first wave and trapping stronger enemies.
Then, charging with the Griffin, triggering the hurricane for a simultaneous assault, soaring skyward to evade counterattack, and circling for subsequent strikes.
This was the strategic approach Li Ang devised for him.
Requiring Wendes to do very little else, during team battles, just follow where he’s told to attack, otherwise prioritize self-preservation—Li Ang had practically served the strategy on a platter.
He also understood better than anyone where exactly this move’s weaknesses lay.
When the wind array is released, Wendes, lacking precise Magic Control, couldn’t dictate the hurricane’s path, leaving gaps between them.
Moreover, the Leader Level Griffin’s angles of attack are also limited after looping back around.
The intersection of the wind array’s gaps and the Griffin’s attack blind spots is the absolutely safe spot, something Li Ang could calculate instantly when Wendes initiated the charge.
"Next, step back, two steps back, four steps to the upper right,"
Li Ang walked leisurely towards the position, followed closely by Lanslow.
Wendes’ charge once again brushed past, and he let out a roar from the back of the Griffin.
Li Ang asked the Order Sky Knight beside him, "This is the general rhythm, do you understand."
"Understood." Lanslow nodded.
"He will return to charge five more times, after which the magic in several hurricanes will merge, creating a high-energy explosion here, which is quite powerful. So you need to knock him off the Griffin within those five times."
"Don’t worry, as long as the foothold is safe, although my destructive power isn’t very high, at most three times... no, two times, I’ll definitely pull him down."
"I will enhance you."
Wendes launched a third charge, and Lanslow reached a new safe point, where the magic from the standard energy source surged into the magic gun, firing dense flame bullets like raindrops, creating a fiery curtain ahead of the charge path.
The Lance Cavalry swung the heavy halberd forward, smashing the flame bullets, significantly reducing the charge momentum. Lanslow stood firmly in his position, using the force from his waist, swiftly slashing with the short sword. The multiple blades, aided by Wendes’ own momentum, continuously struck his chest.
The beautiful Skywalker Armor was enveloped by an invisible substantial air shield, and the sword blades produced a muffled sound without breaking the defense.
Wendes soared into the sky, preparing to initiate the fourth attack after a spin.
This time, he also realized he might not win, desperately channeling all his magic. The Wind Chaser’s Holy Bell hanging from his waist shone brightly, as bright as the morning star in the dim sky.
The Griffin dove down, with a thick drill-like destructive wind pressure formed by rotating magic in front.
Li Ang shouted to the Holy Snake, "Xiaohan, Jadestone Beam! Flame!"
The Earth Serpent, already understanding human language, had its eyes flash with starlight. Red, blue, and green gemstone beams radiated in a cross-shaped brilliance, the gemstone energy beams flashed rapidly, and in the dim sky, its body dazzled with red flames, scaring the soldiers on the deck into hasty retreat.
"Die already! You two bastards!"
Wendes’ roar and the Griffin’s screech accompanied by the thunder and gale approached in an instant. Li Ang applied Spiritual Activation to Lanslow, whose entire spiritual energy surged, with flame bullet barrages as dense as rain continuously weakening the whirlwind in front of the Griffin, yet it still fell a little short.
Beside the connecting cable, the Earth Serpent’s energy transfer scale crown’s gemstone flashed in sync, a crimson cross star light pierced through the gloom and collided with the charging Griffin, refracting magic into fiery energy, incinerating the agile wind element in an instant.
Even though it was a weakened Star Soul attack, the Creation Formula seemed to provide infinite energy. The Tier Seven wind element equipment made Excellent Air Shield of Wendes was slowly worn down, burning several gaps. The high temperature and shock wave even forced him to fail to sit stably.
Lanslow’s multiple blades immediately followed, enhanced by the Amplification Spell, with a doubled number of blades instantly stacking over a dozen slashes, knocking the red-haired man from the saddle, where he crashed onto the deck, weakening the Celestial Demon Hurricane he controlled instantly.
Flame beams swept across the deck; the unsupported hurricane no longer held the power to shake the magic and material dimension membrane, and was ignited, weakened, and scattered by the fiery flow.
The gemstone beams contracted, the remaining flames blown away by the high altitude fierce winds, and the Holy Snake’s jeweled crown emitted sizzling heat due to the high temperature.
Wendes’ hair was scorched in many places, his equipment unharmed but much of the surface was blackened.
Even his Griffin didn’t rise into the sky, tumbling several times on the deck, with many feathers burned away, its earlier fierceness no longer evident.
Lanslow sheathed his sword and walked towards Wendes who was lying on the ground and laughed, "Your Summoned Beast is too fierce, huh? My Winged Dragon is too embarrassed to come out."
Wendes propped himself up, bound by Lanslow, with a dramatic change of expression on his face.
"Damn it! You can’t capture me! I’m here because I’m originally from the Empire, it has nothing to do with the team!"
"Got it, got it, you can explain slowly when we get back."
Lanslow was long familiar with prisoners making excuses when caught.
He smiled at Li Ang, "Phew, that was close but no danger."
As his voice trailed off, the sound of engines roaring approached from below in the air, and a Magical Flying Ship’s hovering device suddenly rose above the side of the ship, leveling with the deck, atop of which stood fully armed and battle-ready soldiers.
Among them were several powerful figures wearing extraordinary equipment, with magic rhythm around them.
"Why are there reinforcements?" Lanslow sighed, "The strongest are already here, no matter how many come, it’s just tiring me out."
Wendes said, "Below is my family’s territory, we are about to ally with other Lords to become a core strength of the Empire’s rise! The Empire has more than just ordinary soldiers, do you know what you are facing?!"
Li Ang said, "You, as a Celestial Group member, but believing the Empire can rise, what force have they mastered?"
Wendes snorted twice, saying nothing further.
Looking over the side of the ship, they could see they were currently hovering above a large island. Its perimeter layout indicated it was a bustling sky port.
"It’s Spark Port; we’ve floated over here." Lanslow said, "During the earlier battle, this guy deliberately used the wind to push us into the Ignis Sky Realm."
"Indeed."
Wendes blew a whistle, his Griffin and the soldiers on the adjacent ship launched an attack together.
Lanslow tossed out a Demon Sealing Cage, a metal sphere like a sachet emitted magic smoke, with a large Winged Dragon about ten meters in wingspan covered in green feathers flapping its wings as it flew out, clashing with the Griffin.
The Earth Serpent climbed down from the connecting cable, ferociously breaking into the battlefield.
Li Ang stepped forward to help the young man hold down Wendes, quickly wiping his hand across the latter’s waist.
"I’ll hold him, you go up."
